Aaron is one of the NICEST PEOPLE I have ever met!!! I first met him during his USO tour BEFORE his first album was released while serving in OPERATION DESERT STORM. Since then I have run into Aaron more times than I can count, literally. I have shared many meals with him and a few with his son. He is EXTREMELY approachable and always takes time to meet people, shake hands, sign autographs, take pictures, and pray with any who ask. After I got out of the Marine Corps and started trucking I ran into Aaron at Mont Eagle Truck Stop. I was taking a quick break on a rainy, foggy night/morning. Aaron and a bunch of country stars came into the restaurant. There were 6 people in the place before they came in. When I saw him I smiled a little remembering the concert he did for the troops. He walked right up to me, put his hand out, and said "Glad to see you made it home alright.". I asked him if he k e who I was or if he was saying that because of my haircut. He told he EXACTLY where and when he met me and basically what we said to one another. I was floored. Then Aaron called the others over to personally introduce them to me. I hauled cars for a living. @BURNWANKENOBI I love the trade. To me, it's fun at times. We use everything from micrometers, lazers, and feeler gauges to torches and hammers and hydraulic presses. Each day, we repair something different.
I am not a "working man." and I did not spend my life doing hard physical labor, However, I grew up on a farm and I did my share of manure shoveling, critter chasing, hay baling, rock picking, and the like. I am now a retired public school teacher, and I worked very hard at that. Now I am old, kinda broke down, and tired, but I still work every day. Every morning when my feet hit the floor, I think about my tasks for the day and say to myself, "You gotta get it started if you wanna get it down." If I need some motivation, I pull up this song and listen to it. It never fails to get me moving. Thank you, Aaron Tippin.
I was born in 1960 during the height of Vietnam when I was a teenager in the seventies you're right because country music in the 60s and 70s and 80s had a lot of steel guitar Merle Haggard said it best when the buck was still silver when the country was strong yes the seventies for us teenagers like the movie Matthew McConaughey Dazed and Confused that was our era back in the seventies I don't care if you were a cowboy or a rocker we all listen to classic country and classic rock those were the good old days
We could also use the conditions that typified entry into the workforce in each of the preceding generations following World War II: the ability to earn a living wage in exchange for putting in 40 hours a week. That's a near-impossibility in today's economic environment, and that's largely a result of tax and fiscal policy embarked upon by every administration since Ronald Reagan.

This is an amazing song. I am 16 going on 17 and have had a job for as long as I can remember. My dad and I started a land scraping company when I was in the fourth grade. It is so true how more people need to pull there own weight.
There is a lot of money to be made out there. My daddy used to run a saw mill and my mama ran a sewing machine. She used to stitch my shoes up with that old machine. Sometimes I would help nail the soles back on to them. My dad was a mean bastard, but he done right be me and my sister and my brother. So did my mama.
This song is awesome. I grew up working in chicken houses in East Texas. Been at the Houston Fire Department since I was 24 and don't plan on stopping until 54.
Darin South I am not "judging" you. But if you are a parent, you are doing your children a disservice by pretending to be proud of your status as working class. If "hard work" is all you've ever known, you would have listened more in class and done your homework, right?
Remembering 1992 ..who are you and what is your interest in my life ..I come from a poor family ..couldn't afford college and such ..unless your offering me something different just leave me be ..
im 37 been at it since I was 14. one back surgery one tore up shoulder and every damn joint in my body aches already but I get up every damn morning and get it done
Started at 11 and working nights with my daddy then quit school at 15 and started a full time job and had three part time jobs with that one and at 18 took over the family business with my daddy's leadership to get me going ... ran it for 13 years until I answered the call to the ministry ....
Hell i’m 29. Been out here on the railroad since I was 18. Nothin but steel rail cars to climb up and down on from sun up to sun down. 11 years strong rail roadin and showin no sign of stoppin
It took some of y’all 11-14 years to start working. I hit the ground getting it n growling, working and running heavy Tonka equipment while in diapers in the sandbox.
i first heard this song when I was 22 years old. at the time I was completing my masters in electrical engineering. it gave me a huge wakeup call. i was just listening to the garbage my teachers were telling me and not learning anything about the REAL world. so i got in my truck and drove three states down and got a job as a construction labourer. happy to say i have been working there now for 15 years and am looking forward to finally moving out of my parents house thanks constant hard work. keep telling it like it is, mr. tippin sir!
My uncle drove a truck for years with Zoomstein. He retired when the logs went digital. He loved it. My brother drove for six years and had to stop. He is really short, and his knees got bad from getting in and out. My dad worked many jobs. His last was 19 years in the coal mines. He had a bad car accident in 87 and had to go on disability. Up until last year he still had a garden, mowed his yard, and whatever needed to be done. Dad is 90 he taught us to work hard and do it right. My son-in-law is 25 and works six hour shifts at the Dollar General store. He is exhausted and has to lay down and have a short nap when he gets home. I dont understand. Its like they feel entitled. Theyre expecting a baby in July. He wont be able to handle the needs of a baby

I broadcast this song often, and was so privileged so see him sing this live in concert July of 2022. How? Because my fabulous and amazing millwright at an orr mine made it happen, and drove us there on a beautiful Harley he customized perfectly!!!
I'll never forget years ago when I was working for Western Salvage and the local radio station sent this out to us while we were working. Rocking song.
Man...for some reason, I can CLEARLY remember this video from when I was just 6 years old. While momma cleaned the house, she always had CMT on TV playing all the new videos, lol.
We learn nothing to hard if ya put your mind to it. Proud of holding down two part times jobs for over 15 years. All of us are not afraid to pitch in or a task beneath us to make a living. Two brothers and one of my sister worked at a meat packing plant.
Seen him with sammy Kershaw, ray collin, an justin moore back in may at bbt arena in ky.... he sung this song !! Wasnt a person sitting he had everybody on their feet !! He can still rock it out being as old as he is ... love him an His music ...
I'm 32 years old and I work at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in the food service department (in fact, Aaron Tippin and I share the same birthday). I know quite a few people who need to hear this song, including one in particular who only keeps his eyes on his watch and barely gets anything done.
I was born in 1994 and proud of it. This is one of my top 3 favorite songs, my generation excluding me and a few i grew up with just dont know how to work though. Not the most religious but yall pray for em.
I love Aaron and his music I have had the privilege of meeting him when I was a kid I had cancer and my make a wish was to see him I still love his music
Thank you for that song Aaron, after working with my hands for 53 years, I reckon I got one of them WM PHD s !! And you don't hang it on a wall, You hang it on your HEART !! Coz your sleeves are all rolled up, or cut off !!! Greetings from " Down Under" Oz.
Even more true today than when the song was new. It doesn't even matter what line of work you're in. I'm a truck driver, my wife is a nurse, we have friends and family in everything from construction to law enforcement. We all see the same thing-about 1 in 10 young people entering the work force today actually have any kind of work ethic. It's shameful but, so many "parents" from my generation just gave their children whatever they wanted, instead of making them earn it. These kids, no matter what kind of education they have, are in no way prepared for the real world!
Even true-er now! What with all the anti-work movement shit on all the social media sites does the new generation even know what it means to hold a job anymore?
I grew up in the age of kids who worked and went to school at the same time. I graduated high school with a full time job in a warehouse. I've spent 33 yrs running a forklift. And I'm a proud blue collar guy who's worked hard all my life.
Great song. Its so damn easy to respect someone who goes to work every day. I have struggled my whole life respecting men who dont work. I cant help it.
As a young girl growing up. My Dad was business agent for the local Teamsters. He was the Foreman on the job. When he passed away...alot of guys came up to his layout. And,told me he could have barked orders and did nothing else. But,if he told them to get in a hole and on their knees to finish concrete work. He was right there with them. He finally became a Correctional Officer and before he could retire( which was near at hand). A drunk driver hit him and the first impact was bad. Then, his car went down the river bank and hit a tree. He was on life support for awhile. Then,he lost all his short term memory. Was sent to a brain trauma hospital for a while. Then,he came home where he lived for 9 and ahalf months and passed away. Spent 18 years almost military...got a head trauma and was sent home. He never caught a break it seems. So,I'm proud of my Daddy( yes,I am 65 yrs old and he is still my Daddy)!!!
I work At a pharmacy during the pandemic. Started in October 2020 and am still doing it. We lost a lot to corporate jobs, didn’t want the exposure risk. I have had to work a lot of overtime. And I love my job.
*WORKING MAN'S Ph.D. / AARON TIPPIN* (RCA single 62520) (Aaron Tippin/Philip Douglas/Bobby Boyd) Sony ATV Songs LLC/Universal Music Careers, BMI/BMG Songs/Mickey Hilter Music, ASCAP This video was built around an outback tour stop, with a little over half the footage devoted to construction of the party booth that will be the gig site toward the end.
When you work that OT every day and go to that 2nd job after that and then go home and work on your house to make it your home you will under stand what this song is all about
Definitely this "younger generation" oh wait. I'm 26. That's me. I'm a truck driver, dad of 2 girls, the local mechanic, plumber, appliance tech, role model. Apparently though my age makes me a spoiled brat. Being a trucker I get tons of dirty looks from old sour men who are scared of being passed by the "younger generation"
Laziness doesn’t apply to a specific generation or age. Worthlessness knows no boundaries. I’ve known many older folks that aren’t worth the air they breathe.
I'm working on a phd now and academia is filled with completely detached from reality crybabies. This is my jam now, I have to finish and never look back

THATS all I have is a working mans Phd. .damn proud
Why would you be proud of underachieving? Are you actually happy that I make single-day stock trades involving more money than you earn in a year?
I am who i am ..hard work is all Ive ever known so don't judge me ..I don't have degree's in stock trading or whatever..
+Remembering 1992 You do realize no one on here believes your bullshit "I'm rich" comment LOL
Best Aaron Tippin song ever. My favorite song by him. This song makes alot of sense.
im 37 been at it since I was 14. one back surgery one tore up shoulder and every damn joint in my body aches already but I get up every damn morning and get it done
Amen! I also started at 14 and still go strong at 56, hoping for 10 more years!
I'm 34, started at 14 too
Started at 11 and working nights with my daddy then quit school at 15 and started a full time job and had three part time jobs with that one and at 18 took over the family business with my daddy's leadership to get me going ... ran it for 13 years until I answered the call to the ministry ....
Hell i’m 29. Been out here on the railroad since I was 18. Nothin but steel rail cars to climb up and down on from sun up to sun down. 11 years strong rail roadin and showin no sign of stoppin
It took some of y’all 11-14 years to start working. I hit the ground getting it n growling, working and running heavy Tonka equipment while in diapers in the sandbox.
love this song
i first heard this song when I was 22 years old. at the time I was completing my masters in electrical engineering. it gave me a huge wakeup call. i was just listening to the garbage my teachers were telling me and not learning anything about the REAL world. so i got in my truck and drove three states down and got a job as a construction labourer. happy to say i have been working there now for 15 years and am looking forward to finally moving out of my parents house thanks constant hard work. keep telling it like it is, mr. tippin sir!
This Is One Awesome Song.
He wont be able to handle the needs of a baby
love to see him perform again ..... he was awesome everytime i saw him
Love me some workin man phd

I broadcast this song often, and was so privileged so see him sing this live in concert July of 2022. How? Because my fabulous and amazing millwright at an orr mine made it happen, and drove us there on a beautiful Harley he customized perfectly!!!
I'll never forget years ago when I was working for Western Salvage and the local radio station sent this out to us while we were working. Rocking song.
The Man COUNTRY MUSIC
just did a 72 hour week in a factory. I got my phd
Man...for some reason, I can CLEARLY remember this video from when I was just 6 years old. While momma cleaned the house, she always had CMT on TV playing all the new videos, lol.
Spartanburg SC Men know how to work, know how to rock, know how to play, and know how to love!!! Woooooohoooooo!
that song makes me be pround of working
'A few more people should be pulling their weight.' No truer words have every been spoken.
Love Mr. Aaron Tippin and his music! Good people. Shalom Y'all from Kentucky!
This is music I grew up on and never forgot. I could care less for new stuff
Country is not my usual cup of tea but Aaron Tippin is the man.
I miss this kind of country 😢.
We learn nothing to hard if ya put your mind to it. Proud of holding down two part times jobs for over 15 years. All of us are not afraid to pitch in or a task beneath us to make a living. Two brothers and one of my sister worked at a meat packing plant.
Love this song!!
Seen him with sammy Kershaw, ray collin, an justin moore back in may at bbt arena in ky.... he sung this song !! Wasnt a person sitting he had everybody on their feet !! He can still rock it out being as old as he is ... love him an His music ...
can't hang on the wall for the world to see but you got yourself a working man's phd
Aron S always found that funny, I literally hang it on the wall, do siding and gutters 40+ a week
I'm 32 years old and I work at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in the food service department (in fact, Aaron Tippin and I share the same birthday). I know quite a few people who need to hear this song, including one in particular who only keeps his eyes on his watch and barely gets anything done.
Alot of people forget we are the ones that make their world go round.
I was born in 1994 and proud of it. This is one of my top 3 favorite songs, my generation excluding me and a few i grew up with just dont know how to work though. Not the most religious but yall pray for em.
He's an icon for damn sure a man among men
I love Aaron and his music I have had the privilege of meeting him when I was a kid I had cancer and my make a wish was to see him I still love his music
Working for a living is a way of life for me, should be everybodys attitude
Thank you for that song Aaron, after working with my hands for 53 years, I reckon I got one of them WM PHD s !! And you don't hang it on a wall, You hang it on your HEART !! Coz your sleeves are all rolled up, or cut off !!! Greetings from " Down Under" Oz.
I listen to this song everyday before work. Workin on my Workin Man's Ph.D. Wouldn't have it any other way.
What with all the anti-work movement shit on all the social media sites does the new generation even know what it means to hold a job anymore?
these old videos crack me up
I grew up in the age of kids who worked and went to school at the same time.
That's for Damn sure ALLOT more people needs a working man's PHD. period.
Amen. Ain’t that the truth
Leonard Gilbreath yo
Your right about that
You got that right, there's a whole truckload of truth in this song.
Déjà Siku yeah but he wasn't always rich.
I work At a pharmacy during the pandemic. Started in October 2020 and am still doing it.
We lost a lot to corporate jobs, didn’t want the exposure risk.
I have had to work a lot of overtime.
And I love my job.
Grocery store during the pandemic still working on🤟
*WORKING MAN'S Ph.D. / AARON TIPPIN* (RCA single 62520)
(Aaron Tippin/Philip Douglas/Bobby Boyd) Sony ATV Songs LLC/Universal Music Careers, BMI/BMG Songs/Mickey Hilter Music, ASCAP
This video was built around an outback tour stop, with a little over half the footage devoted to construction of the party booth that will be the gig site toward the end.
35 years in the Roofing trade I have a couple PhDs! Love working songs like this!!!
When you work that OT every day and go to that 2nd job after that and then go home and work on your house to make it your home you will under stand what this song is all about
this younger generation will never understand working 16 sometimes 20 hour days
Definitely this "younger generation" oh wait. I'm 26. That's me.
I'm a truck driver, dad of 2 girls, the local mechanic, plumber, appliance tech, role model.
Apparently though my age makes me a spoiled brat.
Being a trucker I get tons of dirty looks from old sour men who are scared of being passed by the "younger generation"
Laziness doesn’t apply to a specific generation or age. Worthlessness knows no boundaries. I’ve known many older folks that aren’t worth the air they breathe.
God bless you and your family 💕🇺🇸👍
words well spoken
Need more of that today ! Love jd
I'm working on a phd now and academia is filled with completely detached from reality crybabies. This is my jam now, I have to finish and never look back
Started when I was 18 in the TTT truck stop now 59 and still wrenchin and truckin I got mine also
This rocks!!
