Good video. I will change this set of PCV and hoses during plannes oil change for the compressor in this coming March. For now I am getting a slight positive pressure, of less than 100mm positive H2O pressure, out of the opened oil filler cap, while M271 1.8 litre SC engine is running at idle of 750rpm. Air intake manifold pressure was at -7.3psi while air flow is 4.5litre/second by the MAF. This equal to air intake flow of 270litre/min. I was expecting that some air should be sucking thru opened filler cap and then routed out of the lower crankcase via the hoses & PCV and into downstream of throttle valve body. I am expecting a small spring inside the PCV holding a seating tension of about 2 psi. So -7.3psi in air intake manifold is having plenty of delta p for sucking blow by gases thru the PCV and at same time provide a slight negative pressure inside the top valve cover. Any comment is welcome. While engine is idling and the oil filler cap closed back disconnect the black breather hose on top of valve cover. Connecting a garden hose, and route into a pail water, it is venting blowby gases at roughly at 4 litre per minute. Thanks
It makes perfect sense to mount the valve this way but if you look on the diagrams you'll see that it's backwards. I've bought the right part from Febi and have marks with "motor>>" in the same wrong position. Anybody knows what's going on ? Diagram error and manufacturer error?
My mechanic replaced the PCV & its hoses during compressor oil change out. Before this change out the engine oil level is 2mm higher at 2 minute after starting the engine & kept it idling at 750rom. After PCV is changed out the engine oil level by dipping is lower by 20mm at 750rpm. In both cases the MAF remain at 4.7 g/second vs MAF also remaing at 0.5bar. Throttle valve body was clean and the before vs after result is 17.2% vs 14.9% open. So was the crankcase's positive pressure is actually less than +50mm WC before changing out the PCV & hoses? In the dash the engine oil level indicator drops from 5.7 litre towards 4.4litre with the engine at 750rpm. Dip stick need to be 600mm from tip to its stopper. If the positive crankcase pressure is much high, the engine oil level by dipping, could easily be 100mm higher than before starting the engine? Yes no? Regards.
After replacing the hoses, you should have negative values of crankcase pressure. The oil is normal to be measured at a lower volume in the crankcase and oil pan, after the engine is starting. But that 1.3l volume of difference, is high, but also was measured by that oil sensor, that I doubt it's an exact measurement, with the engine on. If you had an air leakage, and now is solved your g/s should have increase now, and your throttle to be at a higher procent. And for no good reason, your oil level on the deep stick, should increase with 100mm. That's too much.
you all prolly dont care but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Jad Kylan i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.

Biggest like ever! Thank you!

do u have to remove compressor?
Din ce oraș ești ?as fi interesat pentru partea de service! mulțumesc
Do you think it would be problem if I totally blok this line ?
The crankshaft case it is venting through this pipe. And your fuel ratios ,will be incorrect.
What is the parts number? Thanks!

@Jad Kylan It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
