I just test rode this bike, gorgeous AF, the CF weave, attention to detail unlike any bike I've seen. The low and mid-range is impressive, way more substantial than Street Triple RS. The 1-finger braking power, to the Öhlins smoothing out every imperfection and providing stability like no other OEM suspension I've experienced in 20+ years. The ABSOLUTE perfect sportbike.
Hey bro, I ended up buying the bike. I have done less than 300 miles, and had two random engine shutdowns, in gear, while in motion. Have you experienced any? I already e-mailed Triumph USA.
MrDeepseadweller That was never in question. Aprilia came out with ride electronics first, which was a breakthrough nobody talked about, and very intrusive. Yamaha busts out the 2015 R1, everyone's still playing catch-up learning how seamless it should be done. If Yamaha had a 750 version of the R1, that would've been my purchase.
Yam, I'm honestly really proud of you and how far you've come over the past few years. Going from a little channel I just happened to find one random Saturday in July, to the first ever list video that permanently put you on the map, to the 675 blunders, to now. I'm proud of ya buddy. Keep on keeping on.
True daytona fan here! Triumph see those qualities a rider wants which other manufacturers just can’t. The quality of components, the sync of engine, the whistle from the triples OMG I Love those whistles!!!, that clickiness and every fooking part embed in that machine is made with alot of time to guarantee …. “PERFECTION”.
Agree about the horsepower, when MV updated their F3 675 to 800cc (798cc) they gave it 24 more hp. Triumph should have done something similar but it has the same 128HP on top as my 2013 Daytona. And seriously, while the TFT screen is an update it STILL has those awful headlights as my bike had 7 years ago, give it LED's or something. Riding at night on unlit backroads is a pain in the ass, i gave that up and had a dual projector setup installed. Expensive but sooo worth it.
I rode the 765 a couple months ago and LOVED it minus the price tag haha. I decided to keep my 2010 Daytona 675 special edition. I love the 675s!! I cannot wait to get out on the track at NJMP.
R1: has an up and down quickshifter, you know almost like a scooter. Daytona: has an up and down quickshifter, best thing ever!! Cant wait to see if Triumph ever makes a liter bike and see Yammie reverse his stance on owning a literbike.
@@yammienoob relax Yamster, I love your content, just poking fun. Keep up the good work! I'm one of the 30 people who watches your podcast to the very end
@Oddjob6120 exactly! And until they slap some plastics on it, give it 40 more horsepower and make it an absolute torture to ride with very "committed" ergonomics, it doesn't count as a "real bike".
Good review Yammie. I was actually going to buy this bike but decided to buy a leftover '19 Tuono Factory instead and saved about $3k. But this is a beautiful bike
I don't know if I agree with the idea that it should look radically different. A mustang (P51) looks like a Mustang, a Spitfire looks like a Spitfire, a P38 Lighting... Many variants with the same classic look. The last thing I'd want is to have to explain that it really is a Daytona.
@Michael Moretti Seems odd to me as well, considering I started riding sportsbikes when the premier race replicas were 750cc 4 cylinders and 900ish cc twins. Now the Panigale V2 is Ducati's middleweight race replica, and it's 955cc. Very similar engine to their premier homologation race replica in 1996 (the 955cc 916 SPA). The 600cc 4 cylinder middleweights are essentially dead.
For an alternative view on this bike, check out Michael Neeves from MCN. A decidedly less, enthralled review from one of the top motorcycle journalists.
yammie i really hope some day i can grow up to be a big poppa yam someday. im just wee yam now with 98 subs. hahah your motovlog setup tips helped me get going. APPRECIATE YA keep up the GOOD WORK.
I rode the daytona 765 2 months or so ago, and bought a 2014 675 a few weeks after. The 765 felt more smooth but I love the 675. I wish I could put the auto blipper from the moto 2 daytona and put it on the 675. It would be perfect then.
I'm glad you like the quick shifter on the daytona. The quick shifter on my 2019 Triumph Speed Triple RS is clunky as hell. I hope they fix the problem on the new 2021 Speed Triple and give it more beans to compete with Ducati, KTM, Kawasaki and BMW.
Nice bike. Why Triumph don't make a production version , rather than just this limited edition, sure beats me. They've all sold out in the UK, mind you at £15,500 it was very expensive, I guess most of them are going to end up in collections, and be pretty much un-ridden, which is a shame.
I’m debating this bike vs the panigale v2. My dealer has a moto2 in stock or I can order a panigale if I want. Which do you get?! Price is pretty close and I’m afraid the triumph will sell quick! It’s winter and the dealer won’t let me ride them. Love the look of both and I need a sweet sport bike. I’ve owned a street triple 675 and liked it, but traded it for a cruiser for long rides and intended to get a Ducati sport bike for fun and track days. Edit: seems like the Daytona is top of the line for triumph where the v2 is bottom for Ducati.
I can’t stand the throttle response. I have a 2011 675r that if I just lightly move my hand she goes. Getting my first service next week with a SC Project CRT slip on installation. Hoping that spices her up for me. Not totally in love yet. Once I can open er up, then I’ll know🤘Still riding my 675r while I wait. It will be tough to beat ol white lightening.
Yam, have you ridden the current Speed Triple RS ? I recently test rode the Street Triple 765 RS, and the Speed Triple RS. I much preferred the masses of extra torque on the Speed Triple. Okay it's about 20 Kg / 44 lbs heavier, but I didn't find the handling was that affected. (I'm not a brilliant rider) Apparently older Speed Triples were a bit more wallowy ( I haven't tried that one), current Speed Triple RS seems pretty good to me.
Any idea if Triumph will bring out a more affordable Daytona 765? I don't think the brakes and shocks are negotiable from this moto2 special edition, but they went far out on the price... It doesn't need multi selection presets, tft display, abs or carbon fiber. I tend to slip and let the bike go, and I cried every time with my 04 triumph over prices of mirrors. Triumph seriously needs to revise some things ☹️ There would be lots more driving them, and I would NEVER buy a lumpy Speed Triple, why try and shove it down our throats??!! 🤦🏻♂️ Hope your doing well Yammie
If's it brand new, do the Triumph's have a brake-in tune like some other bikes do? after like 6000 miles or more it gets a ECU re-flash with its first service?
i have the opportunity to buy this as my first bike my plan is keep it for 10+ years… is it a good idea to grow into the 765 & hit up track days or like an aprilia rs 660 for $6k less??????
how much would you pay for a salvage 2012 daytona 675R pearl white with 37k miles. paint is flawless and runs and drives perfectly. its my first daytona im trying to buy but idk the value of these bikes HEEELLPP
