Jay elec never belonged in the spotlight it would just sour him like it does most artists, I'm sure he knows this (the music industry is a puppeteering devil). That's why he doesn't make himself so readily available so to speak. The ones who get it, get it. That's good enough. He drops the message for the few that aren't brainwashed. You can't do that on a large scale without becoming a target yourself. You have to remain somewhat hidden.
He's been stunted. Jay-z took the opportunity to do what no other executive had the courage to do. To truly support an artist. If Jay E is Basquiat, Jay-Z wants to be his Warhol. We should appreciate this. This is moving in the direction that music needs to go. Moving towards freedom. Dang, New Orleans stays on Stunted Growth. Very telling of the city itself. Full of potential and always getting exploited, but always in its own way smh
How I feel about my city Philly lol.
The N.O. Had the No Limit and Cash Money movements back to back, Philly had state property…..
So wait...getting rave reviews, making 10 "Best Album" list, *_not_* "Best Rap Album", "Best Album" and getting a Grammy nod is lackluster, now?
Ask Mo'Nique
Boy you need a million check for these video. Thank you
He's been stunted. Jay-z took the opportunity to do what no other executive had the courage to do. To truly support an artist. If Jay E is Basquiat, Jay-Z wants to be his Warhol. We should appreciate this. This is moving in the direction that music needs to go. Moving towards freedom. But at the end of the day, the fans need to get on board and stop all these shallow reviews (not yours) looking for a conveniently packaged commercial product to consume.
After listening this take and reading the comments I understand Jay.
If he went full blast in 2009 my boys Lamar, Cole wouldn't have been the conscious goats like they are now
HiLtON Kazingizi here. I admire JAY now that i know his story.
He always intrigued me...but I understand him... I'm an MC... I've been rapping for years...and I could've been famous too..but sometimes,a person has a mind that needs stimulation other than what people expect that to be...I think he realizes that people don't really value lyrics...BUT IF PUFF ASK YOU WHAT ARE YOU SCARED OF?...you better have an answer...and I believe I know what it is...some people don't know how powerful they really are...this guy never needed training wheels like having JAY-Z on your album...I just think he was reluctant to release anything because...you know in your heart when you are on to something, but just one person puts doubt in your head and makes you think it's not good enough...I wonder who that was?...hmmm...but salute to him because to be honest?..I think he just got bored and needed to pushed in other aspects of life...
I believe later on down the road it is gonna come out that jay elec ghost wrote for jay alot that why he aint have nothing left for himself. Jay elec been around for a min.
Jay is the easily the greatest lyricist in hip-hop 2nd only to Hungry nas and prime Rakim

Talk about dropping the ball and fumbling it. This dude is the biggest enigma in hip-hop smh.
He's the definition of leaving a pizza in the microwave too long.
