@@madaxe606 mig-29k has AESA radar and mfds and all that. Mig-29 9.12 is just very weak. Super weak radar, no fox 3 missiles, possibly even no extended alamos but im not sure. There was something else that made the basic mig 29 bad but I forgot. Ah yes no data link but you can already experience abscense of datalink on the fc3 migs
@@spinningsquare1325 So what? DCS isn't War Thunder. A 9.12 MiG-29 would be terrific in the late Cold War setting and a fine opponent for the F-14, and even the later DMAS F-4E if players want a bit more of a challenge. The 2000's-era teen-series Blufor fighters are a dead end from a competitive multi-player standpoint anyways - it'll be Hornets and Vipers and Streagles flinging SPAMRAAMs at each other for the foreseeable future. Cold War is DCS's future and a 9.12 MiG-29 would be fantastic for that. And more achievable than a more modern Flanker.
They've introduced multi-threading to Open Beta and are working more on it as we speak - the hardware barrier to entry might be considerably lower soon!
@@imhandsome1309 not the A version for sure. The S version unlikely too. Mig-29A's radar is just blind and it does not carry r-77. MiG-29S is not much better. Yes, it has r-77 but the range is so much shorter than aim-120c.

Do like i had to do, save up and buy a piece like memory or whatever and save and buy another and so on til you've got a complete system to assemble.
It's more accessible then before. If you aim for VR, then it's another story
