      Yeah, have experience from a couple of winters in Stavanger, and from this area last winter:) Will come a video from some typical winter diving from this weekend after the one from the Nordic Championship!

      @@AkselOrstavik Great! I live in Trondheim and will start spearfishing, but I heard its more difficult in winter because of less fish. Is it true?

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  Рік тому +1

      Yeah its generally less life in the winter. The upside is really good visibility, but generally it's easier to start out in late spring when there's more life to shoot.
      This weekend we saw lots of cods, but it takes some practice to spot them when its as dark as this. When there's only cods, and they spook deeper, your out of luck as a new spearo

You can check this video ua-cam.com/video/SxUVE5QttE0/v-deo.html (english) he is fishing here in the same area as I do or this other ua-cam.com/channels/wNuUdGSZvlj2whTa-1M4zg.html (only spanish) that is fishing all over our province, we don't have Dentex (there are some spots were you can found some in summer but never guaranted as depend on water temperature), neither grouper fish, or other mediterranean species.... we have almost same species like in UK as we have "cold" water, and we have hard restictions for spearfishing as from September 30th to May 1st its only alowed on weekend and National hollidays, shellfish catching prohibited, freshwaters spearfising also prohibited........

    • @AkselOrstavik

      Thanks! This was early fall and temperature was around 14 degrees Celsius. Haven’t been diving much here at summertime, but think it’s around 16-17 degrees then. So a 7mm is a very good all year suit:)

      99% of my dives have been shore dives. As long as there’s current you don’t really need a boat. Of course a boat will help you hit many spots a day, and access some very tempting pinnacles;)
