- Vast kelp forests, lots of fish on the sonar, and nothing but ocean around makes for a perfect day.
It's extreme seldom the weather allows people to travel to these islands and shallows, so chances are we're the first to find what lies beneath the surface here.
Check out the video to see what the day brought!
Somewhere during the recording of the voiceover I caught the flu, bonus points if you can find the exact moment;)
Those kelp forests are amazing! Beautiful video & would love to see more!
Thanks! More are coming, it’s a busy fall on the dive front;)
Wow, stunning underwater world you got up there in the north! Especially at 3:00mins. Keep the videos coming🤙
Thanks, absolutely love it when that aquarium vibe comes during the dives!
Beautiful conditions and lovely dive. Gratitude
Really enjoyed watching this one Aksel. Just came back from Norway again but already miss the kelp forrests.
Thanks Michael! The kelp is beautiful, but we still lack some stuff you Danes have, like the bonito! Congrats on that:)
@@AkselOrstavikThanks mate. I guess every place has different advantages. Yeah, that bonito was something special. Hopefully they will visit every year from now. :)
Just awesome. Helt fantastiskt!
Man Norway looks beautiful would love to visit one day - from Kentucky USA
I would definitely put it on the bucket list!
Catch, clean & cook please! Would love to see how you clean the pollock and cook it.
Gonna come some cooking as well sometime😅
lush kelp forest ,no sharks to worry about and clear blue seas with lots of fish how enviable
Norway is pretty much the perfect place for this sport;)
that thermocline at the surface makes me feel cold
It was quite warm actually, more of a freshwater layer than temperature.
😀 Impressive film! very very nice. What thickness of neoprene suit can you recommend for Norway in September (15 degrees water)?
Thanks! A 7mm open-cell wetsuit is perfect:)
Cool video Aksel 👌👌
Nice to meet you in Laredo 😊
Thanks Kevin! Absolutely, hope our roads will cross later as well:)
Diving in Norway looks great, thanks for sharing!
I am in Troms and Finnmark in November and would like to get started with spearfishing. Do you have a recommendation how to get in touch with local spearos for some advice and guidance? Or would you recommend a commercial guide instead?
Thanks, KR
Hey! Thanks a lot. I know there’s a club in Tromsø called SUT (name implies students only, but it’s open for all). Would reach out to them for local guidance:) don’t know how much diving there is that far north in November, but they have the answers. Good luck!
Hella good vid Thx for sharing
Thanks, a pleasure!
This looks beautiful to dive. What was the depth range you were diving for the pollock?
Most of the dives were around 7m deep! The pinnacle in the middle og no where were at 13-15m
Amazing visibility, no worries on any predators , so are there any oysters or sea urchins in this water?
Nydelig video! Utrolig god sikt og mye liv i vannet!
Takk!
Did he imply it’s not possible to get a fish that size in Stavanger? 😢
Hehe it’s mostly a joke because Bergen and further north has so much better spearfishing. It’s definitely possible, just not as common☺️
Pleier å stoppe litt over minuttet vanligvis
Hei! Bruker 7mm året rundt i Norge.
why are there so many pollock this year?
No idea, haven’t really noticed
I live in stavanger. What is the name of the place?
Its north-west of Gulen, area around Utvær fyr:)
Ritkigt vackert!
Hei, where is this place exactly 😊?
Hey! Around the islands of Utvær/Indrevær:)
Are there sharks there
The only one I’ve seen in Norway is spiny dogfish. Other than that we have some smaller sharks you can see, and some bigger once down in the deep(!) or far off-shore :)
Pigghå very common but also lamna nasus
Svalene?
Litt diverse holmer og skjær i området sør for Utvær:)
Jævli bra greier!
Takk for det!
Koster det mye å starte? Virker sykt artig!
Im scared of kelp
Helps to have a wetsuit on;)
Do you use a oxygen mask
Nope, just our lungs
@@AkselOrstavik pretty crazy imagine you getting stucked between your strings at 14 feet
But I enjoy your content
Stay save
@@AkselOrstavik for how long you can dive each run
On this day I had an average dive time of 1:30 min:) yeah, you don’t want to tangle. Then it’s all about keeping calm
