Ahh the Derby cover and the Primary cover. Anti seize the crap out of the fasteners Clean the bore holes Addition: The cam position sensor cover fasteners and bore hole need to be cleaned and antie sized If you don't they will snap under Tq
If you want to cover your bike in the garage during the Winter, nothing beats a King Size Bed Flat Sheet, all cotton, often found at the thrift store cheap. Easy on/off, keeps dust away, no scratch, and let's everything breathe. With my bike covered up on the dolly, "King On The Throne", I can roll it around covered with ease.

Hey doc, I'm from Indiana and I ride all winter long. I love the venture heat heated gear. not cheap but it keeps me on two wheels. The heated jacket liner I don't even have to put on high. The heated riding pant under my chaps, amazing. The heated socks, amazing. The heated winter gloves, well I wish they were a little bit warmer. The garments all plug in to each other and then into a pigtail hook to my battery. nice and clean.
Thanks Doc for all your tech tips through our this past year. I have learned a lot from your tips and it's always good to hear from you. Merry Christmas to you and your family and your Harley Davidson family at Low Country Harley Davidson. Look forward to seeing and hearing from you in the New You Year.
Year round rider here... All I own is a 2010 ultra limited. It's 14° in Texas right now. Sometimes I think what if I got a car with a heater and I immediately almost throw up in my mouth. Good thing I'm as tough as I am dumb 🤷😆

Hey, Happy Holidays. Great advise on removing the fill plug / derby cover before removing the drain plug. Same advise for any machinery. Nothing worse then draining a differential and not be in able to remove fill plug. Always remove fill plug 1st. In most cases, you can suck the fluid sump out from the fill hole. Can’t fill from the drain. Makes for a very bad day…………
Invention for somebody ! Make a derby cover with a fill plug at oil level, just like MC drive shafts have. Could sell Millions ! I might machine up my own if no one else is gonna do it
Thanks again Doc!!!! BTW... I could afford to buy my wife the Christmas present you suggested (a new HD bike) but I did get her a new HD sweater jacket and 1/2 of a case of Syn3 oil for her bike.... LOL Happy, Safe, Merry and warm Christmas to you and your family!!!!!!
Thanks for another great d&d episode, Doc! (no, I don't mean dungeons & dragons, obviously) But I have a question: is it necessary to pull the main fuse if you gonna hook it up to a battery tender? I mean sure, if you don't it'll drain some power but on the other hand, it's being charged by the tender. I've never taken out the fuse for winter storage, just plugged in the charger. Should I? No, ABS can not be added. Besides the mechanical parts the software is key in controlling ABS. Choose a model that came with ABS and if used kept well maintained….Doc

If I change the stage one intake to a big sucker , or something similar I will have it have the bike re tuned, correct "?
More information is needed. My rule is if an owner changes air cleaner AND exhaust ( mufflers or complete) a tune is needed…..Doc
Yeah it's already been tuned with the stage one intake. I was looking for a little more horsepower. Maybe with a High performance intake
Lemon Pledge works great on windshields......and it’s CHEAP!

The same goes for tinted windows in your vehicle, ammonia will mess it up.
