What sucks about the firing is that it should've been made absolutely clear to June at the outset that the job was charter to charter, and the most they could guarantee her was two charters. Or one full charter with tips and a second charter with pay even if she had to go home so Egotistical Not-a-Chef could revert to third stew. June seemed shocked. Truly unprepared for the eventuality. I'd like to know what Sandy told her when she asked her to come on board. Or was it someone else who initially fkd up? Even if someone other than Capt. Sandy recruited June, Capt. Sandy should've made the situation fully clear from the first moment she met June.

That whole catastrophe was the captain's responsibility. You be upfront. I guess she couldn't have forseen Anastasia's backing up. Things were great when Anastasia's cooking worked out but when she flubbed it up, she went crawling back to stewardess and threw everything out of whack. Anastasia got a little too big for her britches.

4 P I agree. I think since he got to see how he was acting he learned from it and now wants to mature and grow in life. I was so hoping Hannah and him would of maybe had something. But nope. The only real problem with June was her aversion to the radio. She did do her work. Sandy should have told her upfront the position was temporary. Jack should have been the one to go since he really does not want to work. June could have moved to the deck crew. The upside is that Ben is coming back.
I think the more pressing problem with her was she was willing to let the pan burn down the kitchen. She never seem liked she wanted to be there anyway. So disengaged and disconnected. Not much common sense.

FIRST RULE IS TO seek to UNDERSTAND. Captain Sandy was not being 100% forth coming with her. Anastasia was the one who had to go. The CHEF'S position was redundant. Because of the negative reports from Hannah and Sansy herself on June's work ethic, Sandy decided to transfer Anastasia to the other department because she was the better employee. If this was clearly communicated to her she would have seen it was due to her poor efforts and defying authority in a passive way. This would have removed June's leverage towards Sandy. People want the truth when being released, not some half-story. It is condescending to their intelligence. If June did make an effort to be there and wanted to stay, she would have been the best Stew they had ever seen and Sandy may have had a very difficult decision to make. Being clear to the thought process teaches the employee and gains their respect. June wouldn't have been as disgruntled.

I think Captain Lee prefers to be in the Caribbean where he is closer to his very large family and his lovely wife. Hopefully they will rebuild on some of the islands and he can get back closer to home. But I did love seeing them in the South Pacific.

June was absolutely right, you don't make people redundant when you called them in to help you out when you needed the support. Sandy should have got on to yachting services and told them to find the money in the budget to create a role for her or an immediate transfer onto another vessel. She says it's 'just business', but she's not considering that June might share her story with 20 cream of the crop stews that will be prejudiced against working for Sandy or the company in future, and that will impact on the quality of staff she can obtain, which in turn will dilute the quality of the guest experience. That's business.

That whole catastrophe was the captain's responsibility. You be upfront. I guess she couldn't have forseen Anastasia's backing up. Things were great when Anastasia's cooking worked out but when she flubbed it up, she went crawling back to stewardess and threw everything out of whack. Anastasia got a little too big for her britches.

The only real problem with June was her aversion to the radio. She did do her work. Sandy should have told her upfront the position was temporary. Jack should have been the one to go since he really does not want to work. June could have moved to the deck crew. The upside is that Ben is coming back.
I think the more pressing problem with her was she was willing to let the pan burn down the kitchen. She never seem liked she wanted to be there anyway. So disengaged and disconnected. Not much common sense.

Anastasia was the one who had to go. The CHEF'S position was redundant.
Because of the negative reports from Hannah and Sansy herself on June's work ethic, Sandy decided to transfer Anastasia to the other department because she was the better employee.
If this was clearly communicated to her she would have seen it was due to her poor efforts and defying authority in a passive way. This would have removed June's leverage towards Sandy.
People want the truth when being released, not some half-story. It is condescending to their intelligence.
If June did make an effort to be there and wanted to stay, she would have been the best Stew they had ever seen and Sandy may have had a very difficult decision to make.
Being clear to the thought process teaches the employee and gains their respect.
June wouldn't have been as disgruntled.

I think Captain Lee prefers to be in the Caribbean where he is closer to his very large family and his lovely wife. Hopefully they will rebuild on some of the islands and he can get back closer to home. But I did love seeing them in the South Pacific.

June was absolutely right, you don't make people redundant when you called them in to help you out when you needed the support. Sandy should have got on to yachting services and told them to find the money in the budget to create a role for her or an immediate transfer onto another vessel. She says it's 'just business', but she's not considering that June might share her story with 20 cream of the crop stews that will be prejudiced against working for Sandy or the company in future, and that will impact on the quality of staff she can obtain, which in turn will dilute the quality of the guest experience. That's business.

I'm just wondering how much "setting up" of situations is occurring in order to create drama and explosive situations..it seems from their resumes several of the deck crew are actors. Take the burning pan incident, the cameraman was there almost before June got to the galley and would that pan really have been left as it was..like all "reality" series I take them with a pinch of salt
