Thank you for the tips and techniques! I found one of my nets the other day when I returned. I still have one more to try and catch. Keep up the great work! 👌👍
Don't forget you can also add a window weight or similar to your drag in heavy currents. I had to tie one on mine yesterday to catch one of our headlines!

Better when falling. That's been our problem the whole year. Our catches ain't been but average this whole year. We been on a steady slow rise. It started falling last week, so we will see if it picks up on next net raise
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 gotcha. Thanks for the reply. I fish the red river here and it's better on a fall also but the river is sooo muddy all the time. And they mess with the lock and dam's soo much. Even more this time year. I noticed water was clear where y'all at.
Lol, yeah, they pull, but if you ever get hold of a hybrid striper, you better hang in. I caught a 12 lber years ago off the Darbonne spillway. Hardest fighting freshwater fish I've caught.
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 yessir. I fish Claiborne and darbonne a lot. Claiborne is full of them! Bad thing about the hybrid stripers in claiborne is they fight so hard, they die

I'll pull mine out of the river in a week or two. Not because they quit catching, but because they are getting dirty, and we got some other stuff to get into, like Big Bream. You can fish hoop nets on into June long as you got current. Then you can go to wire nets or slat traps and catch all summer

We got a little fall, but it's not falling fast enough. We just got back from a run today and it's possibly the worst of the year. We're giving them one more week. At this point we're just about worn out, lol
The best technique I've found on hopp nets is to be sure and eat a huge meal right before you raise them. So big that your belly looks like you're about to have a baby. That makes it easier to bend over pulling nets. 🥴🤪
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Yeah I was joking. I never eat during the day if I'm working as it makes me sluggish and want to lay down and nap. There were times that I'd eat so much that when I bent over to tie my boots , it felt like my food was going to run out on the ground. 😆
I wouldn't think so. I've never smelled it on top of the water, but you get it on you, you'll smell it a week. Especially if there is current, 🤣🤣🤣, but they say old fisherman aren't dead, they just smell that way. Maybe you got some old fishermen around you, LoL!!!

Why??? A part of me says keep em all cause their Delicious, but the legal part of me says release any 14inch ones or less.
