Props, Brother. I started the martial arts in 1968 in Chung Do Kwan. In 1070, I found a school in Indianapolis. The instructor taught a Kyokushin / Kang Duk Won Karate system (His instructor had a black belt under Mas Oyoma). Taking that road made all the difference. Best!
Kyokushin is certainly one of the most brutal training of the empty hand styles. I studied Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, and Shorinji Kempo, but I stayed away from Kyokushin Karate because I didn't know anybody who lasted more than about two years without getting their teeth knocked out or a concussion or some other serious injury from practice and tournaments. My hat is off to you for training in Kyokushin Karate.
