Please invite M.anifest or Worlasi from GHANA
It will be a blast
Can anyone please translate to English or help me understand the song's meaning?
invite juan mango from argentina!
My question is: How does Colors find the most talented artists from all over the world?
unpaid interns
Right tho this songs so beautiful, dont know what she's saying but still jamming
She is very famous in Africa and France dude 👍
Nikola Zemani many are well known in their fields, maybe especially Diawara. You will find them too if you look! :)
They invite artists who perform in Berlin I think
When she she started playing that guitar my heart dropped
Imagine her Jimmy Hendo-stlye shredding tho.....she ain't fair
That riff at the 1:43 mark hinted of Santana!
@@stephenwood305 or Sister Rosetta Tharpe with white SG Custom.
The energy of it just gives your soul purpose to live
Beautiful
I've never seen another artist play the guitar so joyfully and relaxed. It was like she was born to make music. Such a ray of sunshine.
You should search for estas tonne ;-)
She is.
falou e disse muito bem!
Mali🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱🇲🇱😊
spell binding live.
That blue against the yellow is just marvelous
See how calmly she played that riff?
Hall Anti voice grace and beauty
Smile on her face n all
She plays it so effortlessly
Because it’s a lip sync performance
EXACTLY MY THOUGHT
The serene smile on her face as she literally snatched my wig with every passing second is a level of Boss Energy that I aspire to. COLORS has yet to fail me.
I love how, during her solo, it shows on her face how much she is feeling and enjoying it. While I may not understand the lyrics it's really hard not to jam to this.
This comment. 🙏🔥🔥🔥
😂😂😂✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
I hope you aren't African American with this comment, because it's so stereotypical and riddled with the interwoven constraints of media in our way of thinking... If your American especially. Like she's not even wearing a wig , but somehow wigs come into effect
@@OrganicAlumination I owe you nothing about my person or identity, however I am sorry that you misinterpreted my words and intent. Stay blessed.
Nothing in the comments about that solo?
Why am I the only one blown away with a good guitar solo? I love when she closes her eyes during the guitar solos.. feeeeeel that music.
I mean....it wasn't great
I felt that guitar solo...I really did!
Me 2... I can do that with the oud
I am pretty sure u would live it too.
U r not alone, my friend.
Oh i hear dat ish on fya
For the people who know “kirikou and the sorceress” she played Karaba in the musical, and she slayed! So you can check it out if you want.
Mchawi Karaba, she was my African Swahili Childhood!!!! I really loved Kirikou. I actually discovered that after I listened to her music and loved her more!!
Celestino Kariuki waw I’m also east African and speak Swahili, you should definitely check out the musical for Kirikou and the sorceress it’s here on UA-cam but it’s in French. She did an Amazing job as Karaba and the whole crew slayed too.
Between Kirikou and the sorceress is also my whole childhood I used to admire kirikou😂
@@soldecle Let me check it out, thanks so much,
I loved the animated original, I didn't know there was a musical!
Oh my god I love kirikou
THIS AFRICAN REPRESENTATION MAKES ME HAPPPPPYYY.
I feel like this song should be in a movie...
TYPECHILL I was thinking the same thing.
That's because it invokes so many visuals in your head when you're listening to itttt😍
That's a fact
black panther 2 maybe
She plays a role in timbuktu a lot of her music is in the movie!
How is she so calm and full of light then just drops a casual guitar solo there? AND it fits effortlessly? Amazed.
Malian music speaks to the soul. I first heard Malian music thanks to Habibe Koite
Can't believe i'm watching Fatoumata Diawara on Colors🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
😍❤️
Same. Wow. They'll never cease to amaze me.
It's surreal but she really deserves this
I saw it on Facebook and quickly came here 😍😍 she's amazing
Tshepang Mthembu same i’ve known her for over 6 years its kind of a family thing to listen to her, and now she can be heard by many more and maybe she’ll get the attention she deserves i love her
The colors are rich, vibrant, beautiful, it represents Africa energy so well
ALL MALI 🇲🇱 ARE PROUD OF YOU FATOUMATA DIAWARA
We play this song at Nandos, even when things are hard, it makes me strong🇿🇦🇿🇦
Hello fellow South African 🇿🇦😂
That woman's energy is ethereal.. Like a goddess from another dimension.
Could have defleee stared in The 5th element
Amen ✊🏼
Indeed!!!
Oh how eloquently put. ...She is amazing.
né!
The only player I know who doesn't have guitar-face when rocking a slick solo
RyanIn2D guitar face or whatever is for those trying hard, Africans don’t do that.
@@therndabt yeah you're known for not trying hard
she wants to slip into guitar face @ 2:07 but holds it back with that amazing smile
Theafri you have no idea what you’re talking about.
The greatest black guitarists and musicians have some of the most expressive faces.
You’re a clown lol
Theafri i’m african and i make a guitar face, it’s inevitable, it’s your natural response to you playing
Is it wrong for a grown man to cry when a song is so beautiful? Wow, absolutely amazing
I cried to
it's 100% fine to cry
I am right now and im so confuse
If that is still a question for you than you ain't grown up my boy
i cried too
I feel so blessed to have even found this. She radiates so much wise, resilient, pure, strong, ancient, beautiful energy. I cry
Her voice is amazing, her pitch control is impeccable
She radiates such godlike energy ...
you are 100% right
Oh yes, like healing energy
That is what im feeling right now...emotional and also happy...this sister touched me
@Lotte you confuse having a clearly superior energy and feeling superior, two different things
SHES SUCH A LEGEND I WISH I COULD SMILE HOW SHE DOES WHEN I PERFORM
This is how a princess would play the guitar, With grace.
Her demeanor was so relaxed and confident. I love the spirit she exuded in this. Wow.
2 years later and still, goosebumps every goddamn time
I am originally from turkey but living in Germany but I feel a really deep connection to Africa and African culture. These kind of songs make me so happy and it really touchs my soul every time listening to something from our homeland. I appreciate this so much, thank u for sharing 🙏🏼

I cried listening to this. Africa is in the midst of a creative renaissance, and is finally being appreciated for its contributions. I stan ❤️
It has always been appreciated by her children here in the U.S. It is in our rhythm and our soul. We did not forget - AA
I appreciate all types of music involving soul and expression. And I also cried while listening to this. Like it reminded me of a piece of my soul that’s been buried and hidden away. Like nostalgic
Music probably *comes* from Africa. That's one hell of a legacy.
Haborym , Music comes from the earth. And Africa and the indigenous flows with the rhythm of it
I also shed tears. Many. So beautiful.
I didn’t understand a word but I felt every word she sang 😍
She is a legend in Africa and French speaking countries.😊
I love my country Mali🇲🇱
EASILY one of the most powerful presentations since I started watching this channel.
no one else brings musical diversity like colors 🔥 this is beautiful
You already know this is the type of people that are talented from since they were born. Amazing
I don’t think I’ve ever been any prouder to be African ♥️
she trully deserved that grammy !
The 6 people who already disliked this video are uncomfortable with beauty, sound and soul.
Or racist 😔
@@miketheduck626 I'd hate to assume, but sad if they truly create aversions that prevents them from seeing beauty and appreciating beautiful sound.
Truth.
32 now and even if i’m trying really hard to understand what‘s offensive in this video, I can’t. It’s probably the sweetest thing my ears heard in colors.
Or they could of accidentally clicked dislike?
Her voice is just out of this world!
These lyrics hit on something atavistic. The words are desperately sad, but she sings with a bright, beaming energy. Her huge smile conceals such pain.
This channel really lets me discover talented people that I've never heard of.
💯💯💯
Human curating art will always beat algorithmic recommendations. Streaming platforms trap us in bubbles of "what we should like" instead of letting serendipity happen.
[Translation from original Bambara lyrics]
[Intro]
This song is about the heartache felt by two lovers separated by distance. My love and my confidant has gone far away and has not sent any news back to me. I love him despite everything and I miss him every day. I want to hear from my darling; otherwise
I cannot sleep well at night
[Verse]
My love has gone far away and may never come back
He has left his family and friends behind and gone away
He may never come back
What am I to do? He was my friend and my confidant
How is he? Just let me know how you are
You have gone to a faraway land
I miss you greatly
You have always been my guide
And I love you with all my heart
My love has taken off
Who knows when he will come back?
My darling has gone far away
And may never come back again
He has gone to live in a faraway country
He has not told me anything
It was not the rough morning weather
That prevented me from seeing him
Nor the heat of the midday sun
Not even the dangers of going out at dusk
Because I could not sleep well if I didn’t see you
Thank you.
I can her ancient Mali in hear voice
Thank you ❤️
Wow. Shukran, thankyou for translate subscribe

Although I do not speak the language of Mali, I am in love with this young artist with a delicate sense. One love from South Sudan 🇸🇸 🇲🇱

This is the most beautiful thing on Colors right now.
That solo lifted me to another realm.
The first minute is a piece of heaven
She feels the music. You can just see it in her face and they way she moves, it’s beautiful
I saw Fatoumata last year and... WOAH. Her spirit, storytelling, pride in her roots and of course, music were infectious! She has half of the room literally on the stage dancing with her in the end! 100% pure talent!
Saw her just yesterday. I completely agree with you and she totally impesses the crowd
I feel like my soul just went through the washing machine, got hung out in the sun all day and returned to me all warm and neatly folded, naturally smelling fresh

i have been dealing with depression and I honestly look out for Colors for moments like this when I forget any notion of sadness and I just listen. She is absolutely beautiful energy and her voice s otherworldly.
her style (fashion) is what every Afropunk and Coachella attendee hopes to achieve
I love how the song is soo beautiful, chill, and cultural, with a twist of western electric guitar. Truly a talented artist. Her vocals are insane, that range brings tears to my eyes. You can feel the hurt and pain, even while she's performing with a smile on her face.
jesus christ her voice is AMAZING
This gave me the peace that I wasnt looking for

That particular shade of blue and yellow are very close to the golden ratio away from each other on the HSL color wheel, which is the same as a root note and its 5th musically. That's why it pops so much.
