Mad respect to COLORS for showcasing this huge artist.
🙏
So freaking inclusive, they get extra points but lose some for being white :/

So many mad clowns here, can't accept that's the world we live in 🤡🤡🤡
In addition to the employees at Colors, I would like to give a huge shout out to Paul Lorton, the sound engineer of Colors Studio. He is the person behind all the incredible, crisp audio we get on all these shows with no credit. Let's give him his flowers please
THE SOUND IS IMPRESSIVE
what an icon!!!
wonderful sound!!!
The fact that that I'm not the only person who noticed
Damn the audio is cuhleannn even on my wimpy ahh phone speaker it sounds sublime
west africa is not just afrobeat: j'adore
Yes ❤️
Funny thing is what we call Afrobeat right now has nothing to do with what it actually is. There is nothing similar between Fela Kuti/Salif Keita's music and say Wizkid's or even Burna Boy's music. It's more like Afropop.
@@ibrahimkante6022 Afrobeat vs Afrobeats, small difference but it's one that all the artists emphasise.
@@ibrahimkante6022 You're wrong because thats Afrobeats there's a difference and thats the S
You mean Afro pop because what is being played today has nothing to do with Afro beat lol
Africans underrate their cultures so much. Why must we struggle to find things like this? There should be a ‘classical’ African music channel or something to give these lost arts exposure growth and more life.
no fr there should beee!
then make one
They exist. Seek them out. Look to Mali.
Music came to the first , that’s why 😂
It's not a struggle. If you know the names of the instruments you'll find various channels and videos with the music and also popular artists from the given regions and cultures.
he looks like a king ♥️
I love this comment! 😍 My mom is from Mali, so I secretely feel a little honored too haha 😄😊 I always love to see people wear their traditional clothing, though I never labeled it like that, but I totally agree!
Because he is sis x
@@M.I.22 My first thought was, "He is very Regal"
he's a king ;)
He's a 70 something generation griot. Griots are storytellers and Kora players. So it's in this blood, he was made to do this.
I love traditional/classical African music. It’s something that’s just so peaceful and deeply connected and comforting to my soul. I love being African (Mandinka) and proud that the Kora is getting the recognition it deserves
this is awesome and the first i've ever heard of this instrument or style could u put me onto a few of ur personal favorites that are in this vein?
@@user-ze7sj4qy6q Tumane Diabate From Mali and Jaliba Kuyate from Gambia.

Dude didn't look at the strings even once, what a legend. His face at times was like, "Impressed? Yeah me too lol"
The sun is going down. I'm sitting in my garden and my daughter sends me this. No words needed just pure love and gratitude 💛
I hope you feel just as good then as you do now. Maybe even better ❤
Same my daughter send this to me and bring me in tears😢
The African performances on here are some of my favorites. This was soothing, a bit therapeutic, and I also love the warm colors.
Sevdaliza gurrl is here too :D
From Mali 🇲🇱
A beautiful Rumi verse immediately comes to mind while listening to these chords.
"Out beyond ideas of right and wrong, there is a field. I will meet you there."
Rumi quote on this comment section sooo much culture. I love it. Words for my heart music for my soul
@@LubulaAfritech I know never thought I would see the day a Rumi quote on Colors wow 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
One of my faaaavorites you’re so right
My favorite of Rumi’s lines
Hhhh and while reading this beautiful rumi verse immediately my mind goes to these words "catch me outside, ****" sorry i couldnt help myself, much love hhhhhh
Just in case you ever wondered what life in the ancient Mali empire of Africa sounded like, here you go. We are all welcome.
As a fellow Malian I’m happy you’re showcasing more than one artist from this creative country
Thank you COLORS, for showcasing artists from around the world and granting me the privilege to be able to hear music from all cultures
Wow
From Mali 🇲🇱
More artist like him please Colors 😍🇲🇱
Yes, way better than the woke generation "artists"!
Yes pleaseeee
I'm from Algeria 🇩🇿 and I love this western African instrumental
Mali is not far from Algeria, you are cultural neighbors

By the look on his face, this man is communing with the gods.
They’ve gathered hoping to meet him.

I love the sound of Kora instrument.

The way I felt his music on a spiritual level...so freaking talented.
You were African... ☺️
Not all classical music is European! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is the music I grew up on. Proud Guinean.
❤
The type of sound that makes everyone stop and sit quietly in silence while the power of music enters the soul.
The peace that I felt watching this is a peace I want to feel everyday for the rest of my life

It's a peace I thought I'd lost. Reconnecting to sounds from home is so meaningful. Thank you COLORS
Masha’Allah talented man. Much love from Somalia 🇸🇴 viva Africa
The traditional music of Mali is among the most interesting on the world scene. The Sissoko family has been full of talented griots for generations. ❤
Did anyone else feel the music in your heart?
Yes!
Me too! Very spiritual and healing. One of the most beautiful instruments I’ve ever heard
I keep returning to relisten..it gives me tranquillity
Crying cleansing tears
Absolutely.
How mesmerizing, his music is awakening my sense of wonder.
It’s as if I’m running in a field of grass
He plays with the grace of a king’s royal musician. Beautiful.
Glad to see Malian music is finally getting the recognition it deserves ❤️🇲🇱
Love to my Malian People.
I've never heard anything like this. Thanks to Colors once again for broadening my horizon.
🙏
Listen to 'Ballake Sissoko & Toumani Diabat - Bafoulabe' when you can. Just an incredibly beautiful song. I first heard it several years ago on 'Mala's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix' - also helped broaden my horizon.
🙌🏾🇨🇻there’s no denial that this is pure magic .the relaxation of listen to this takes me afar to motherland Africa we are one .✊🏾
Vraiment

Les joueurs de kora sont toujours impressionnants

One day I wish for a Colors fest that resembles the Montreal Jazz fest

I agree & it would surpass any festival anywhere🙏🏼❤
I'm from Montreal and somehow I've never been... I need to!
So regal. So Africa. I love it. What a beautiful world we live in full of beauty still. Amazing music.
Mali/Senegal land of the genius that shaped our civilization
I don't really listen to music without lyrics (except some Beethoven, etc and not very often) but I really like this and he is very charismatic.
You should!
@@Pat315 yeah I know but I'm easily distracted and I don't understand every nuances of music so it's more complicated for me to understand and appreciate some music. But sometimes I really enjoy it depends of how I feel I guess. And I really like techno, house, and trance music without lyrics so I don't know maybe my ears are just not used to it. But I will definitely try and listen to songs without lyrics now.

Saw this amazing musician with his band in York, UK a couple of years ago, all of them were brilliant and their music absolutely blew me away, a must see.
remember studying this instrument in my African civilization class a few years back glad to see him again
What is the name of this instrument?
Must take ages to master
@@BreenSN it's called the kora
Kora
The Original harp. Absolutely beautiful in sound and musicianship, this is amazing.
Thanks Sir harp is originally African
The banjo also came from Africa. It was called "the banjar". Apparently the first string instrument was found in Mesopotamia, but Africans made it better of course :)
Kora my G. F the harp.
There's another in the Lake Victoria region called the Nyatiti
No it's not the African harp. It's a Kora. Simple as it is.
If you’re here, it’s because you have great taste in music.
I’m african but I had forgotten how many traditional african instruments exist 😭
My heart got kinda overwhelmed at some parts. This is really top tier quality music
Exactly!
Malian music is my absolute favourite from african music. ❤️
You have no idea how this makes me happy!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Merci Colors for featuring artists from all around the world.
Our pleasure 🙏
I live the sound of the Kora. Get Sona Jobarteh on here too!
Amazing music, amazing culture.

I love the Kora! Makes beautiful music!
It's seems like that COLORS studios brings those artists from a planet called "the perfection"
His outfit is simply majestic! An artistic expression deserving of its own recognition.
Almost like a spiritual experience . Beautiful !!
I sat and closed me eyes and this sound took me somewhere beautiful.🌹
Totally an outer body experience. 💫✨
This performance is going to be incredibly inspiring!
You were right!
Ça me rappelle trop kirikou ce mood ❤️❤️
As someone who plays the harp, thank you COLORS for showcasing the kora. This is simply divine.
i didn’t even know this instrument existed it’s so cool
Its called "kora" 😊
It's call Kora, a mandinka traditional instrument
African ballad in the heart of the essential. I like to be carried away by these melodies which remind me of my childhood. Thank you Ballaké🙏🏾🌻🎉
The only African artist who's from the same place I'm from (ivory coast) is salif keita. I'm glad I found another one! Thanks colors
Watching this from Zimbabwe, this is awesome. Africa is a basket of beautiful culture

This instrument has such a unique sound, if I only heard it without seeing, I would never be able to tell how it looks like
In my mind I almost forget that it's 1 instrument. I just hear so much!
I was late for work because of this music 🎶 I’m proud to be African & I am an artist too
Mandingue music of Mali, of Soundiata Keita the Great, love you from Los Angeles
Every time the Bass hits, it feels like its saying everything will be all right.
It's a Masterclass
Please @COLORS, i want to listen Sona Jobarteh here in the future
This instrument is the predecessor of the Banjo in the America's
Now imagine an entire concert with a full orchestra!! Just amazing!!
Was thinking this instrument instead of the damn harp earlier
to be honest ... if this man wouldn't be so handsome, wouldn't wear such "nice" clothes and would play this song in a full, crowdy street in the middle of a big city, nobody would pay attention to him. But I'm glad, that Colors gives anybody the stage he deserves.
He will have my attention for sure... I will seat quietly and dream with him of a better world.
I'm sold... I absolutely love this type of music - Never heard of the KORA, never even knew that it existed. Ballake is sooo talented. These are much needed African sounds so soothing and calming to the mind and soul
Listen to his duet with Toumani Diabate called New Ancient Strings
This was very beautiful! There’s only a few artists I enjoy who’s music is instrumental (Lonnie Liston Smith, Yanni and Ahmad Jamal) but I’ll go ahead and add this man to the list. Glad to see he’s on spotify 💕

I would love for Colorsshow to broadcast more african artists
When I listen to this song and all of his songs, it's the equivalent of piano and violin classics. Like Mozart, Debussy, Vivaldi and others!
And also classic Brazilian music with acoustic guitars and "violas".
COLORS putting forward real artists
Sometimes a harp, others a Spanish guitar, but not,it’s the best of both worlds
