    tv's are not too expensive. the one thing that has been decreasing in price compared to inflation are tv's they are the cheapest they have ever been

      Yep flagship TVs are a fraction of what they were years ago. It’s the only consumer product on the planet where we have gained ground last 20- 30 years. A crappy tv 20 odd years ago was a K. Now a K almost gets you something like a 65 inch Full Array Sony X90L.

    Oh snap my comment got screenshot. 🤣
    But when I said TVs have gotten complicated, I was talking about the fact that I you used to just bring it home, plug it in, and turn it on, then plug in your STBs or antennas. Now you gotta sign up for a Roku account, or whatever streaming account you have.

    Nice video Jon, in reality, the tech behind the tv is great but sitting on a couch at typical distance from the tv per the size of it, would you really need the flashiest tv to watch let's say an NBA game broadcasting at 720p or 1080p? I understand the advantages but do you get advantages when you watch odder tv shows/movies on streaming services with the added picture tech or could the colors look off? TVs are an important purchase but for streaming from subscriptions services, I do wonder if it is really worth dropping the big $$$ on a higher end tv? Keep up the good work!

    Hi, i need some advice. I can't decide between a a80l 83" or bravia 9 85". Im used to my 6 year old samsung 75 " tv. Thanks darrell

    • @PlayerGuyPlays
      @PlayerGuyPlays 5 місяців тому

      I looked up the models you described and it looks like the bravia is a mini-LED and the a80 is an OLED
      That's a simple answer: If the room the TV is going into is very bright (when you are actually watching), then go mini-LED, if you can control the ambient lighting, go OLED.

    Compared to the price of televisions in the 50s and 60s todays flat panel sets are ridiculously low priced. Paying $400 for a television in 1960 would be like paying $2,800 for a television today. My father clothed and fed a family of five kids on $80 a week in 1960. We didn't have a television in our house until 1966. I didn't own a color television until 1979. Paying $400 for a television in 2024 is about the same as paying $80 for a brand new set in 1960.

    LCD is what boomer customers who are technologically illiterate avoid and LED is what you give them while not bringing attention to the fact that they also say LCD in the fine print.

      There's no more of a burn in risk than from an equivalent monitor.
