I had no idea this was from WoW. I feel like I’ve been transported back in time 1,000 years into the body of my ancestor. I close my eyes and I can hear the chatter, galloping of horses outside, smell the stew cooking and the fire burning.
Celtic people and their culture are gorgeous, if only there was a way to go back to those times and experience it with these amazing people. Nevertheless I'd love to visit beautiful Ireland someday. :)
All of you saying this is "ripped from wow" and want to report him, maybe you should read the description where he GAVE CREDIT to wow and also put this video in the n o n p r o f i t section.
It's perfect! I'm actually editing a pirate novel of mine as this is playing. Port Royal Jamaica, circa 1678, on the cusp of a new eve, where a walking celebration is convened to see it in rightly, as two young ladies chase each other - dancing through the crowd dressed as masked pantomines of Passion's Ladies. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sneaking into Stormwind with my Rogue, hiding upstairs and chilling out to this music before going on a killing spree. Then slipping away via the mote...Ahh memories.
Druids are just awesome, they may lack in pvp but apart from that they're awesome. That feeling when you reached lvl 60 abd could shaprshift into flight form
I'm going to have to agree with what Sith90lord said up these, although this has a more modern sound and appeal to it, it does sound medieval nonetheless, and that's precisely why this music is like this it makes it sound better. It sound much better than some of the original Celtic music. I've always loved WoW music, including this one. right when i heard the very beginning of the video i instantly though 'WoW'.
@Sith90lord This is really, really weird. I was searching Medieval music because I'm studying Arthurian Legend, reading a really boring text, and needed something to put me in the medievaly mood. This is the second song I came across and I instantly loved it. Then I looked down and saw that it's from WoW and that one of the composers is Glenn Stafford, who is my uncle. Awesome. It's like some crazy medieval witchcraft is at work here.
@DefeatedElitist The term Celtic was adopted as a way for people to disassociate from Ireland and it has much historical value in music. I don't know what are you doing for living, but I've been studying etnomusicology since 2007.
It's the last track called "Tavern" on the "World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade" Official Soundtrack album. Should be available on iTunes. Love the game and love the song. Cheers, hope everybody enjoys the song :)
because the wow tavern song was baised on a song similar to this one... the original that is... great song all around. and blizz made the best choices with their music back in the day man... fucking activision.
@LanaGame found that are more than 1 composer, namely Jason Hayes, Tracy W. Bush, Derek Duke and Glenn Stafford. i did not put 2 separate tracks together, it's how it was on the soundtrack CD.
In France, England or Spain, the medieval times were really impacted by the gaulish and the celtic tradition. That's maybe why the medieval music sounds celtic. However I agree that too much people mix those two differents words wich are not necessarily linked.
Basically every MMORPG since the birth of WOW has been called a WOW-killer, not none has managed to do it so far, so I doubt this will be any different.
Estuve leyendo los comentarios y me divierte que mas de uno se acordó de algun videojuego de corte épico a fantástico solo por oír esta melodía tan bella, ami eso me pasa mucho también con Mago de Oz no se porque :-P
Because Celtic culture was further forward then other ones in the central Europe. Celts lived not only on British Isle, but in today's France, Switzerland and western Panonian plains.
@Svartalf14 "celtic-ey, medieval-ey feel" :: perfect, let's go with that. I'm not a musician, it just sounded celtic to me, title was "tavern" so there you go. It's not authentic celtic, it's modern "celtic-ey". And thanks for the info.
@DefeatedElitist I wish you'd stop denying its Celtic. ban that composed an recorded this song for Blizzard is Celtic, so there is no denial. And Celts didn't live only on the isles. They lived in France(Galls), middle Europe and small part of eastern Europe. So please, don't go talking about ethnic musicology, I study it.
This is tavern music from World of Warcraft.
orly?
ya rly !
Yee it's wonderful
I had no idea this was from WoW. I feel like I’ve been transported back in time 1,000 years into the body of my ancestor. I close my eyes and I can hear the chatter, galloping of horses outside, smell the stew cooking and the fire burning.
This is Lion Pride, from World of Warcraft soundtrack:) It has Celtic inspiration, yes, beautiful music!
I've noticed that the Warcraft series draws much inspiration from the Celts. Listen to hearthstone opening music.
Moving!!
This music brings me to the ancient celtic world...
Celtic people and their culture are gorgeous, if only there was a way to go back to those times and experience it with these amazing people. Nevertheless I'd love to visit beautiful Ireland someday. :)
You are a LEGEND, if you are still listening to this in 2021!
All of you saying this is "ripped from wow" and want to report him, maybe you should read the description where he GAVE CREDIT to wow and also put this video in the n o n p r o f i t section.

This song is also in WoW, called Lion's Pride and played in various taverns, mainly human taverns (not sure where it originated tho)

The music style is celtic, doesn't matter which game or movie used it.
i love , this is perfect
i love it :D

"Lion's Pride" by Jason Hayes & David Arkenstone.
A World of WarCraft - Soundtrack.
If you look at the tags you can see WoW soundtrack.
Yes, it is from WoW, but that doesn't mean it is NOT Celtic tavern music.
Enjoy ^^
Good old Goldshire... ^_^ Remembrance...
@voicelessband

The second part reminds me somehow on a soundtrack from anno I think 1503
Makes me feel like I'm in Pig & Whistle Tavern with my guild.

Each race's tavern has a variation on the music.
@Sith90lord thanks for the info!
The 1st music in the video is from WoW. I'm not sure about the others.
Basically every MMORPG since the birth of WOW has been called a WOW-killer, not none has managed to do it so far, so I doubt this will be any different.

AGE OF EMPIRE !!!

Agreed. I like Celtic music, but there is a huge body of medieval and early music from lots of other nations to rival it in scope and quality.
Dwarve's Tavern to be exact ^3^
First Half: Alliance Inn... Second Half: Icecrown tournament music! :) (WoW)
GOLDSHIRE FTW!!
@Svartalf14
"celtic-ey, medieval-ey feel" :: perfect, let's go with that. I'm not a musician, it just sounded celtic to me, title was "tavern" so there you go.
It's not authentic celtic, it's modern "celtic-ey".
And thanks for the info.
@sacredmaniac Same here. ono Actually, FATE the game introduced me to celtic music first, but I later heard it on WoW during my time in booty bay. c:
Could anyone post a download link or something for this???
@BalleBaest Yes, he is! On my mother's side. Haha, such a funny coincidence that I came across this.
@voicelessband not only world of warcraft use this song... most games with medival parts use this
I know, i read the wiki so for me it doesnt matter that you spoiled it ^^ But plz dont spoil for others.
This music is also from Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.
this was in world of warcraft for the alliance faction
Did the lannisters send their regards?
DarnASSus.
Cant tell you how many times I've thought of that myself
