Bro those LFO shapes are nuts. I’m down af to get those now!! But also I’m glad you talked about drift I really been wanting something new in my drums. I also think that’s what I try to understand In other drums is that drift back to the beat feeling and it’s more something we feel and not hear. I love it when light bulb gos off inspiration is on like oh yea

It’s crazy because just last night I was dissecting an LSDream ID and was trying to replicate the beat. I managed on my midi drumkit and by following the transients just like you did! Funny coincidence. Love these boom bap grooves with human touch for sure.
can you go more into depth as to how you did this through midi? dragging the notes in place feels a little unmotivating compared to "jamming" to create a drum loop. I apologize in advance if this is a noob question lol
Great tips !!!! I have been doing these kind of beats for quite a while and typically I "finger drum" live. Although, Ableton makes it super simple to get results in a few different ways. I wanted to share a a few tips that have helped me. 1 tip is if you go to Options-Reduce Latency when monitoring, that will help with latency with live drumming. (But hey, clicking notes works great too. ) Tip 2 - is to just take an old boom bap loop and Convert Drums to New MIDI track . Then replace the drum sounds. Tip 3 -try apply some of the grooves in Ableton to an on the grid beat. (style folder and mpc folder of grooves have some good ones). Tip 4- Addictive Drums 2 has some great midi to use as a basis. - Peace

Watching you adjust the kick snare_ a lot of times the snare is either a bit late or early in wonky beats, don’t overlook pushing your fundamentals!

Do you think the drift on snares and slight swing of the kicks is due to performative organic recording or down right meticulous audio placement ??
Could also record a good drummer who plays how you want it to feel - and extract the groove / do sample replacement - works great, fortunately my roommate is a killer drummer

Can you do a video on how to remix without stems?
You can create stems from any song with Lalal.ai and other AI stem creating websites. Or there are plugins too that do stem splits too, mr bill has some tuts on those. His GF made one Spleeter
Why use track delays rather than just shifting the whole track on the grid? Wouldnt track delay just use more cpu?

U could use Sidechain triggers like in my Sidechain tutorial, lfo tool and things like that wouldn’t work tho for this case
