You just changed my whole perspective on mods! Thanks so much! Just upgraded a Speed Set Cross Protection mod to 6E - now with 12.27% defense and 10 speed secondaries! AWESOME!
Got my first 25 speed crit damage mod yesterday... it'll go on JKA along with a 10% potency CD mod. It takes some work, but when it works out, it really does... thanks for the videos Ian, you're a big help, really...
Thanks for that chart and all your vids, man. Great stuff! And your vids with Cubs are great, would love more of that! But seriously, thanks for covering details rather than drama and silly things.
You can sell those mods. Remove them from the character and under the sell screen, select E mods to filter them. Scroll all the way to the bottom and the 6E mods show up. Sell what you don't want to keep
No my man, this is not just a little guide !! I am an advanced 4 years player and I find your angle on mods really interesting !! And your take on GS too ^^ keep up the good work bro
I honestly think defense is taking over. At high relic levels most toons got a pretty decent health and protection pool already so it makes more sense to rather increase def than hp/prot. ESPECIALLY with how much relics boost defense. I've seen a Fives that was modded SO defense heavy, that it was almost impossible to kill him (3x def set, all def primaries and crazy def secondaries). I'm sure with higher relic levels defense will become even more important than right now.
Do you happen to have individual character mods too? That would be great too! Hmm, I can say I finally got how mods worked, at first I was SOOOOO lost on it. Speed in secondary stats + it having the set bonus you want + the Primary stat you need = booooom
So Ian you think it’s better to use mod energy on random mods over the splicing materials? I’ve never been sure which is better. I also think the income of credits is a relevant factor. Besides upgrading toons I spend most my credits on specific mods from the mod store that have nice starting values and just splice those. It just rarely makes sense for me to splice e or d mods when there’s still so much potential for it to become meh. This also leaves less credits for just upgrading e and d mods to lv 12/15. Would you encourage spending fewer credits in the mod store and just bulk upgrading more mods?
If I have the crystals for it then how many energy refreshes should I do untill it's not worth it anymore ?? How should I split up my farming, how much energy do I use to farm material and how much do I farm mods?? It feels like I'm allways out of materials.
Nice vid Ian. There is not nearly enough info on mods out there and like you said it is the great equalizer. Can we get a vid breaking down exactly how that defense% affects your character next?
Great vid, but I feel I should point out that speed is NOT everything. There are plenty of toons that benefit from 6e mods with little to no speed. And you should mod your toons for what they’re good at, not what they’re bad at. That 10% defense mod belongs on a toon with high BASE DEFENSE, therefore making the most of the multiplier. Without looking at GAS’s stats, I’d argue that offense is a better fit for him, given that he’s a powerhouse. However, I do agree with most of what you’ve said here. Please, more mod content!
For the maxed GAS mirror match how do we mod? Do we just need a offense or crit dmg set with as much offense and protection secondary? Or do we want a faster GAS with as much offense we can spare? Rex is who drives the team so I am guessing he is the speed key.
I haven’t dived deep enough in the mirrors to figure the best modding. I just keep the same for everything. The ai never kills fives first so it’s pretty dang easy
@@ltsJustlan good to know. I just am not sure what one of my 3 sets I will turn to 6e after this next TB. Offense, crit damage set or speed with a lot of secondary offense
I got a CD primary on a CD set with only 4 Speed but with 7.21% Offense. On an r7 JKA, it equates to around 360 Offense. Taking a mod to 6e because it has "120 Offense" secondary is such a waste of resource. Percentage secondaries is the way to go. PS: Ian, you'll probably love my one mod with 12.78% Defense secondary. It's an HP set and primary too and it's on my GK who has almost 72% armor.
Every character has an integer for defense. The formula for armor% is defense/(defense + 637.5). Defense% mods increase that base integer. For example, if you have 100 defense, your base damage reduction is 13.56%. If you gain 25% defense, your new defense is 125 and your new damage reduction is 16.4%. Damage reduced is damage_taken×(1-damage_reduction). So if you have 25% damage reduction, every 4 points of damage only reduce your HP (protection and health) by 3 points.
Typically I’d do around a weeks worth of farming mods via the attempts then a few days farming slicing mats to slice the good rolls from that week. Repeat it for the week after. And toss in to account some Id buy from the store
This was great, so many people have entirely too much difficulty with mods. I've never understood how/why people could go through all the effort of farming and gearing characters and then follow up with "I don't care about mods". I suspect it really comes down to understanding them. Spread the info Ian!!!
Before of relics and g12+ OFC flat mods were the best . In this case with a pg with relic 7 that has greater stats instead of a g12 one ... are allways better %offence and %defense . Btw tnx a lot for this video , i've apreciate it ! (:
Nice vid Ian... excited you've learned the way of the def % secondaries :P well done
Theres not enough content on mods out their im glad your doing mod video's 😁😁😁 Cheers Ian
We need new content that hasn't have anything to do with whaling

Great video and I am keeping my fingers crossed for the W tomorrow in your awesome giveaway
What videos of his is it that he talks about at 8:33?
I’d certainly like to watch it to understand more/better ty

This is my favorite video you have ever made! Great content!

Speed in secondary stats + it having the set bonus you want + the Primary stat you need = booooom
Wow thanks for this! I didn't realize the increase from 5A to 6E was so different depending on the stat!
Once again, another super helpful video from Darth Mullet
I have maybe 2’mods over 20 speed except arrows... mods are the most painful aspect of this game!

Thank you for this video! I have farmed mods like crazy daily for years but only have a handful of good ones. I hate mods.
Nice, you live in Utah? We visited moab twice. Amazing. Thinking about moving there or Texas. Running out of Illinois like my hair's on fire.
Awesome, I always wanted that table with me maximum secondaries
Nice video. I'd love to see someone make a video dedicated to how to use the grand ivory modding tool. It can be overwhelming for the uninitiated.
what mods do you slice or what mods do you sell? if i'm looking for speed, i usually slice up to blue and if speed doesn't hit once I sell
Sup, is there a way to spot a bad mod before seeing if it rolls speed. ive been selling all mods that dont toll speed
This is great info. Thank you so much!! One of the most important parts of the game but with the least content :-)
One of the most insightful SWGOH videos I've seen in a long time. ●SUBSCRIBED●
Great video. When will be part 2?
Thanks man. Super helpful video!

Great info indeed! Now that i know max roles its gonna be easier to know what to keep
Nice guide. Thanks for your work.

Very helpful, thanks!
Thank you for this helpful guide!
Cheers for this mate, it was very useful
I don't understand what defense is. How does it calculate to how damage is reduced?
Every character has an integer for defense. The formula for armor% is defense/(defense + 637.5). Defense% mods increase that base integer.
For example, if you have 100 defense, your base damage reduction is 13.56%. If you gain 25% defense, your new defense is 125 and your new damage reduction is 16.4%.
Damage reduced is damage_taken×(1-damage_reduction). So if you have 25% damage reduction, every 4 points of damage only reduce your HP (protection and health) by 3 points.
great video brother... very informative. thanks
Not only sec. Speed is important. Thank you. I’ve seen a lot of mistakes in my rooster!!
nice vid, very helpful thanks, sort of rarly covered these days
THANK. YOU.
Buy slicing mats with crystals or farm with energy?
Typically I’d do around a weeks worth of farming mods via the attempts then a few days farming slicing mats to slice the good rolls from that week. Repeat it for the week after. And toss in to account some Id buy from the store

OMG i'm almoust 3mln gp and have only two mods with 20+ speed in secondary
You can sell 6e mods it's just that all of yours are equipped to characters
I def need to work on the mods game.
I keep everything with speed and sell that rest. My best is a 29 on a plus
Great video! You remind me of shroud for some reason!
Why defense? Most meta characters have skills that ignore defense.
6 dot mods can be sold, but they must be unassigned
More more!
I only have 1,3 mil gp so i dont have that many Good mods
2:10 oh yeah, 122 speed is super bad ;)
thx
i don't have one single god mod, best one is 24 6E
mod harder!
