@@NCryptic100 not really. everyone does it. and you will easily reach a point where credits are worthless except for leveling new characters that come to the game or buying mods
Make sure you keep in mind that 6-dot mods can only be put on Gear 12 characters. So if you have a Gear 11 or lower toon, you cannot put 6-dot mods on them until they are G12.
I literally just got done pouring about 50-60 million credits into upgrading all my mods to uncover speed, and take the ones that had it up to level 15. I now hate mods.
The space wasted isn't a wasted strategy though. The mods lesser than 5 dot are an increase in chance that you won't get the 5 dot mods thus requiring you to spend more crystals and maybe (or in EA's mind - Hopefully) spend real currency. That's just an additional hit to even a decent climb in the game where shard and certain gear drops currently have a murderous drop rate. Not sure what EA is going to do about the situation with attempts being 5 or 8 but there are compromises they can make to increase not only their profit but also respect for their company. My take is they should first clean up the mods. Have only 4 and 5 dot mods with about 50/50 chance at getting either mod. Secondly, they need to bring shard and gear drops to a fair drop rate which means the rate needs to be ALOT better. Third, as for the attempts, they could compromise and make it 6 and make getting crystals a bit more accessible or keep it at 8 and leave the crystals alone. Why 6 attempts? Daily Activities require 3 Light node battles, 3 Dark node battles, and 5 hard node battles. Doing three light hard nodes and 3 dark hard nodes would knock all three of those activities out. If they did it that way they definitely need to make drop rates better though, ALOT better. If all those changes came I believe they would see a huge increase in players and profit (not everyone likes to whale and there are other fish in the sea to feed on).
they actually changed it recently to be 6 light or dark side nodes, so you can just do any 6. For people who have farmed one side or the other to completion, they no longer have to waste energy on shards they don't need.
after 4 years of playing, i just rolled a golden triangle mod with a speed secondary that popped 5 times that equated to +25 speed. Never felt this great, definitely upping this to 6 dot.
Ahnald, thanks for a great video, I always knew I needed speed had no clue +10 speed was the goal. I am a sad panda on how much material I wasted. Thanks again for a great video!!!
@@AhnaldT101 Went through all my A,B,C,D Mods last night. Man your video actually made it much easier to understand and follow. Now onto the E mods slow and steady on those. Again keep up the great Videos. And good luck with Law School, see how you have such a clear and concise videos.
This is literally what I needed the most. I have tons of good characters but my mods suck because I honestly didn’t know how to do it but this made it so clear and easy. Thanks so much
Oh my god, I have like about 5 mods with 10 speed at most, and ive been playing this game for a year and a half. I really need this guide. Thank you for being my savior once again Ahnald 🙏🙏
i highly suggest watching this video multiple times 3-5 times. even if youve been playing for a while. i caught something new the last time ive watched this. Awesome video!
Very informative and helpful, cheers Ahnald! Its probably also worth mentioning once you get to the higher tiers a character must be gear level 12 to equip 6 dot mods. I sliced a few with 3p0 in mind but he was still gear 11 and could not use them yet.
The same thing happened to me, sliced a mod to 6 dots and got 25 speed on it, it was supposed to be for Palpatine but since he is still gear 11, it ended up going on Vader.
Ahnald, you did it. You made a SHORT video that does a great job explaining mods in the current game environment. I’m sharing it on my guild’s discord server NOW! The only thing you missed was a warning that 6dot mods only work with G12 characters.
Thanks for this, my Revan and Yoda have all of my good mods with around 15-20 speed on the secondaries. My opponents have EVERY character on their JKR team with almost maxed speed mods. I just need to get out of this 150-80 spot slog
Yassssss! I've been waiting for some solid guides on this. I'm doing decent character wise, but when it comes to mods... I'm terrible... And also terrible unlucky lol
Godlike guide, dude! I'm from Russia and been following you for about couple of months for now. And know what? I tried to find something like that on my language and i couldn't! Thanks again, love ur content.
A guidmate posted this video in our Discord. I've tried to understand mods and shit, but for whatever reason every guide just didn't really click with me. Thank you soooooo friggin' much for this video. This helped me more than you know. Thank you!!!
Finally understanding mods lol Chewie went from speed like 122 (I know, that's pretty low) to 169. I know that's still a pretty low number, but I haven't begun slicing yet
I’ve been a solid daily player for 2 years now and I have always enjoyed AND APPRECIATED when you share guide videos like this one. Thank you brother AhnaldT101 for your dedication. Happy Bunny Day too!
I really wish that speed that didn't play such a vital role. Diminishing returns or a hard cap would give other mods a better chance and result in a better mix.
thank you so very much for this explanation video. i have a much better understanding of mods and their secondary values. i kept losing to a team that was equal in team and gear. i couldnt understand why they were so. much better. after seeing this video, i re-modded my characters and needless to say i was able to dominate that team today.
After I've watched this video I upgraded all my blue-green mods and surprisingly I got 2 blue mods up to 15 speed and I upgraded one 2 times and now I have a +21 gold mod switch is my fastest 😁thanks a lot Anhaldt
Solid video. Thank you. Not too long ago, the developers put a new premium on defence and it shows. Fast teams that can take a hit are impossible to deal with.
So glad they bumped up the other mods to make them viable, I had so many decent tenacity and potency mods with speed secondaries, chewy with some defence mods in his kit is an absolute tank
I've been trying to get a handle on my mods and this video helps me with the decision making part -- whether or not a mod is worth keeping. After I went through and kept anything with a speed secondary, I now know anything below 10 speed isn't worth keeping. Time to go back and flush those out and get new mods. Thanks!
Anything less that 10 on gold isn't worth keeping. I look for the Speed 5 on grey. Ran one of those up and got it gold with 21 speed. Slicing is a pain though.
loving all your videos, a great mix of humour, entertainment and of course, most of all, the in depth vital game knowledge. I personally filter my mods with secondary speed (first and foremost) combined with secondary offence when deciding which to slice ..... for that little extra kick ;)
To reiterate: 3 refreshes a day is key. However, the most difficult thing I've found is balancing when to use your energy to level a mod compared to farming new. One thing to add: only buy great gold mods! Unless, you have a ton of credits of course
Excellent video. Exactly how I use my credits and crystals to get better mods. I’m only four months in and have a far better mod inventory than most at my gp. Tip for new players- for left side mods, sell gray/green unless they have +5 speed to start. Only level up right side mods when you’re actively modding a new toon/team but save the gray/green for when you need them. Also, speed set arrows without speed primary? Junk no matter what. Offense set cross without offense primary? Junk. Offense/CD triangle without CD primary? Junk. (Offense primary can be ok situationally.) Potency set cross no potency primary? Junk. See a pattern?
Plus Also, F2P should also know 6 dot mods can only equip a G12 toon. Just so you know. Not sure if it's mentioned I'm only halfway through Oh I see it's already posted
Good advice! Ima go through and get rid of most of my mods that dnt have speed and farm the speed mods. Time to grind! My Droideka deserves only the best!
Mah Man! Thanks so much for this guide! Like many others, I've been playing for over a year and hunting for a resource to help easily understand what mods to look for and how to make the most of them. Well done!

Agreed. Mods just might be an under looked aspect of the game when players are busy farming top/favorite characters. I usually go for speed though as a secondary stat, instead of getting the 2-4 group bonus % because I also want high potency, health, etc. as that is what certain characters are geared toward. But yea keep farming mods everyday, especially when you find that core squad of 5 that you like, so that you can build upon their stats. I actually got a mod had 22 speed as a secondary and in my experience playing this game for the past few years, I'd say finding mods with 5-10 speed secondaries shouldn't be too hard to find.
Old vid but the days to think about spending crystals to refresh mods are Tuesday after reset until Wednesday reset. Energy spent counts on your guild activities and helps get you something extra for something you'd be doing anyway. Happy farming!
I'm pretty midgame. Got 1 gear 12, a handful of Zetas, and no Hero's journey characters. (Working on CLS.) Before now I've just thrown on suggested mods and not payed attention to speed secondaries and stuff. Good video. I have been doing the upgrade to level 12 with mods thing since the start though. :)

Useful info, thanx. I do most of this already, but it's nice to know the big dogs like yourself are doing them too. If anyone is looking for a guild, the one I'm in (Order of the Grey Je'daii) is recruiting. We have a good core group of members but are looking for more to make TWs and Heroic Tank a little easier.
A QOL update I would like is to directly sell off mods you get once you get them (saves the trouble of emptying out your inventory when they end up in your inbox too). Would make the process of farming them be more tolerable.
So you just can get grey mods to level 12, green to 9 blue to 6 and purple to 3 in one step. Then all secondaries are shown and unless there is 4 or 5 speed in it you can sell them right away. No need to upgrade in steps 3,6,9,12 for a grey mod normally, only if you will sell those with 3 speed also, which may occur earlier while upgrading ;-)
This video just automatically played after watching a Cubsfanhan video. Lol wtf. Not sure why that happened but a nice refresher. Ahh, The classic pre-director of the video gaming division at the Galactic Empire videos.

I cant believe the first half of the video needed to be said lmao. Pure common sense, haiz thx for educating more ppl and making it harder. Selfish thought process here lmao. Have a good day though people
I'm one of the few people who likes the mod energy and spend a lot of crystals on mod energy. I sell every bad mod. Mod energy is so good for every energy event too, really good for more guild tokens.
When slicing to 6 dots they have a lot of primary stats that increase way more than just 2 speed. For example defense goes up over 8 percent and if you have a speed secondary it give you plus 1 speed anyways.
Oh ahnald also thanks so much for always posting this vids I have learned so much from you I have only lost 2 battles in GA because I look at how you do it so thanks a lot keep on doing what you doing it’s awesome!!!
I totally thought you were having a video with @mikayas master of @Urzatrons Hall but look at me drop names. Great vid Arnhlad even though it's almost exactly like Miks. Even using his picture.
Keep those 1-4 dot mods that are the speed arrows. They come in handy when you don’t got much 5 dot 30 speed arrows mods for newer or newly leveled hero’s.
As AhnaldT101 stated, half your mods being farmed should be speed mods. I personally like to farm crit dmg and crit chance with the remaing half, as Health, Potency, Defense etc are more likely to drop from events. Well said.
Buying a gold mod from the store with a 5 speed secondary and upgrading it without bumping speed is the worst feeling in this game
Oh yeah it seriously is. I try to spare myself that pain lol
Bought one today that did that, flushed that 3.9 million down the drain :(
be prepared to do that about 50 times in a row before you get a good mod, it's what it takes
Its soul crushing, especially for 3.91 mill
@@NCryptic100 not really. everyone does it. and you will easily reach a point where credits are worthless except for leveling new characters that come to the game or buying mods

Probably for the new players I assume .

bro this is just a phenomenal video...thanks for the tidbits man
I'm one of the few people who likes the mod energy and spend a lot of crystals on mod energy. I sell every bad mod. Mod energy is so good for every energy event too, really good for more guild tokens.
Arctic Spider what’s a bad mod?
When slicing to 6 dots they have a lot of primary stats that increase way more than just 2 speed. For example defense goes up over 8 percent and if you have a speed secondary it give you plus 1 speed anyways.
Thank you for the video! I always have struggled with mods but this really helped! Gonna share with my guild too! Keep up the great content!
Thanks! Hope the vid is helpful for you and your guild!!
I have been looking for a video like this for a long time and it helped sooooo much!
Well said.
Yep that’s exactly what I do for the other 50%! Great minds think a like!
