For example, you say the chip alone costs 120. True, this is the price for a single chip. But they buy them in huge quantities and don"t pay 120/ piece.The same goes for all pieces in the phone.

I wish you would have provided an example of cheaper places to manufacture cause I’m curious. I believe that there are skilled engineers in China but I’m sure Apple is finding a balance between cheap-ish labor and the skilled engineers they require.

This approach keeps the value of the Yuan low compared to other countries. The effect on trade is that Chinese exports are cheaper and, therefore, more attractive compared to those of other nations. This explains why Apple managers are all billionaires. So there must be a huge profit margin.
The pricing that you guys heard are retail pricing. Apple having the sheer volume is paying way lesser than what he described.

labour is cost less than 1.5 dollars in harsh climate. the marketing and business relation should not be the one raising the phone prices is their own decision how they use their own money and it's not your fault😅

To be fair apple pretty much doubles the actual cost of these phones… so apple isn’t hurting….And these phones are all gonna be tracked right back to this genius in short time, let alone be rendered useless.
I disagree, They get discounts on large supply's at a time. Which allows price to be allot cheaper. I bet a phone with-out research and development would be under a hundred dollars.

Yes, making an iPhone is really pretty cheap. But they’ve got stockholders in the company. They want a profit. They’ve invested money and they want a good return. That’s for a lot of the cost goes the shareholders. They wanna make money and they do make a lot of money.

The only real business that doesn’t operate on a 100% mark up is food everyone else buys something for 5$ and sells for 10$ and that keeps going until the end user gets its normally two to three times the build price

You have forgotten about main important component is iOS. Actually they are selling iOS, so hardware is free. Brilliancy of Apple phone is iOS not hardware alone

you forgot about the ceramic backglass and amny others stuff is still more expensive the camera is much more expensive, the inside would be around 300 and some other stuff like the magsafe tech is more expensive meaning its rough actual cost is like 930 bucks
