In this Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn three easy ways to change your brush size using manual and keyboard shortcut methods. The first brush resize method uses the brush preset window that offers you additional settings beyond just a size adjustment. The second method using the bracket keys to scale your brush in Photoshop is great for on-the-fly adjustments. Finally, the keyboard shortcut method to change your size and hardness will save you the most time when working with any of your brushes in Photoshop. Just remember that the size and hardness settings may not be available with certain custom brush tips that you have found online.

New mac user here... u've just saved me!!!!
Hi! Can I change any way the Mac shortcut to the Pc shortcut because I used to it and it is more simple than mac. Thank you!
Thank you! Still new-ish to PS compared to LR. The third option is new to me and should save a lot of time!
The third one is a huge time saver :)
Does anyone know how to get rid of the inital delay/lag when clicking RMB + alt when changing the brush size? CS6 worked super smooth, but CC messed something up. The preview of the brush size has a delay of 0.5-1second, which is super annoying. Does anybody know a solution to this? I googled so many times already.
You're a genius
Is there a way to assign a brush shortcut to give a fixed size of any brush, say 300 pixels?
I have a lot of purchased brushes that are 5000 pixels and it’s a pain to have keep resizing them and a big task to re-save as new preset. Thanks!
thanks.
Thanks helps me in Mac Studio, Wacon intuos pro S - Pen - KEYBOARD - MODIFIER: select Keys: control and option both :)
thank
Dear Brendan, thank you for your clip.
I was used to change the brush size on pc by holding ctrl + alt, hold the mouse button and drag left to decrease and right to increase. THIS DOESNT WORK ON THE CURRENT VERSION..? can you or anybody else help, it`s driving me crazy!! (WIN 10 64 Bit, Photoshop current version (FEB. 2024)

How can one disable the opacity option where you move vertically? This is literally ruining me..
is there a way to change the shortcut?
Is the ctrl key really needed with the last option? For me it works well with just alt+right click and drag.
If it works for you then I suppose not! I have not done it on windows so what I suggested here is what I gathered seemed to work for everyone on PC even with older versions of PS.
And for me in the 2024 beta it doesn't...
been using photoshop for 25 years without knowing about the shortcut.......I'm an idiot. Thanks:-)
Hi could you do a video on how to reduce wrinkles please 🙏🙂
Thank you for showing the pc version
Control + Alt + Right click and dragging is not working on my Windows. It just drags the layer image or duplicates them. What am I doing wrong?
U only need to press alt +Right click and dragging
BTW that red thing on brush don't show up if you have no GPU computer,
Thanks Brendan. Did you mean Cmd on Mac?
Nope, option + control! Its beside the function key, two keys to the left from the Command key
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials Thanks boss!
mine doesnt show the red thingy so i cant tell how big or light it is. it just white and show me the size of the brush
Perhaps update how your cursor is shown in Photoshop preferences? Settings > Preferences > Cursors There are options for Standard, Precise, Normal Brush Tip, and Full Size Brush Tip.
ahh, the good old pc computer
why is mine just sampling colors??
Sampling colors are typically accessed when the brush tool is active, and you click Option (Mac).
for normal ppl, the shortcut is : CTRL+ALT+CLICK & DRAG, yw
Maybe it's a bug. Cut it worked like this until a few months ago..😑
Still works the same for me in PS 2024, so not sure...
