Story 2 has me in tears. They're gonna be a good aunty and uncle to that little girl. I get being desperate but how can you not want the best for your granddaughter/niece who just lost her parents?

Story 1: This is about control through victimhood. Dump her.

In the first one he wasn't even being unreasonable! He set a boundary AND gave an alternative. "IF you won't stop tasting them, then use a spoon so i can still keep this sanitary." Ntah.

You are doing the right thing. The others are just being greedy and selfish. I am so glad she has you looking out for her best interest.

Omfg I'm bawling at story 2. OP (+husband & son) are amazing ppl. I can't imagine not wanting an orphaned 1 yo in your own family, but trying to take all the material possessions of the deceased. Beyond Ascon 1, they're awful ppl. And yeah definitely keep Isla away from them!

I agree the other side of the family isn't doing very well. I will say this, I wouldn't give them money, or, important items, but, if they don't have a job, I would MAYBE give them one of the cars so to maybe give them incentive to get a job and do better for themselves. But they're definitely not getting any TVs, electronics, money, or, unsupervised visit with babygirl

Story 1: that girlfriend sounds malicious after so many times. I can't have anyone to disturb my peace repeatedly like that

#5 As someone with ADHD i personally seek out many, MANY different hobbies. The thing is, though, you start at the bottom. The cheapest stuff you can get to start the hobbies so you dont lose everything every time you start a hobby. Start with yard sales or thrifting to get a deal on an old tennis racket or a beatup gamming system and a couple of games that'll last as long as long as your interest. It sounds more like he has a spending problem, not a hobbie problem.

Story 1: NTA! The fact that the gf is intentionally disregarding FOOD SAFETY measures because she wants to fondly remember her childhood is selfish and immature. This food is for a business. Even if it wasn’t for business use, sticking your fingers in food others will eat is effin DISGUSTING!

my dad literally pulled the "i bought a boat" shit. boat needed restoration. that was over a decade ago. its on a broken trailer. someone tried stealing it, failed. its still in the yard. hes a drunk who liked to rack up credit cards. my mom wished the thieves succeeded in taking it.

4:20 technically in most states in the US making a food in your home kitchen to be sold out of a business violates health code. But it is really admirable that he’s trying to help out, he should probably just find a way to help from her business location rather than his house. It would also remove gf’s ability to contaminate it

Story 1 finger in the custard: This was about him spending time doing something nice for his sister/anyone else but her. Petty jealous behavior.

I listen vía podcast but had to come here to comment on story 5; NTA but furthermore yes, 100% get your own bank account. Lots of red flags and very much sounds like borderline personality disorder (formerly bipolar) where these new hobbies are in a manic period. It’s not uncommon for people in that state to spend irrationally or decide they’re intensely passionate about things they abandone directly after that state.

Story 7: I wonder if OP's wife took the wrap for the bedroom swap when it was really her son. It doesn't seem like wife has a history of behaving that way but she would be worried about son getting kicked out (bc he's an adult) when OP saw he switched rooms when they were away thay weekend.

So the son got married before the first marriage wasn't finalized as divorce? New wife and or "Ex-wife" has a case if they want to pursue anything. Just saying.
And I'm having a similar issue with the last story. I'll write to reddit and see if I'm TA. Stay tuned!
