Hi everyone! This is one of the first videos I made on UA-cam, so I have since made an improved/updated version of the “10 Best Things To Do in Snowdonia”, that you can watch here if you like: ua-cam.com/video/HO8XDzdmcXs/v-deo.html
Glad you like them! If you want even more ideas, feel free to check out my much updated video with over 30 things to do there: ua-cam.com/video/_5de55NuJi0/v-deo.html Thank you for watching and enjoy your trip!!
Get yourself to Barmouth, bottom end of Snowdonia but one of the most beautiful places, we have a caravan in Tal-y-bont just outside Barmouth, and Harlech castle is on route to Barmouth too, nice day out at the castle, but Barmouth has some stunning walks and scenery, definitely a must go place!
I'll be heading back to Snowdonia soon, I can't wait! and I'll certainly check out your suggestions, I have visited Harlech Castle but never gone to Barmouth. Stunning walks and scenery sound great to me!
wow! so gorgeous. Wales has never really been on my radar but thanks to you I'm definitely considering it now. Will have to check out your whole playlist next!
I think Wales is overlooked a lot and people look toward Cornwall or The Lake District, but for some awesome scenery, castles and epic mountain walks. It's an incredible place!
I climbed Snowdon a few times, one time we had bad weather and couldn't make it to the top. On the way down we got drenched and for some stupid reason I hadn't taken a change, so when we got back to the car I had to just get most of the layers off. But the tradition was after a walk with my dad we went for a curry and there was no changing that one, and I remember walking down Welshpool High Street in a pair of underpants and a cycling top.
Thankyou, in glad you enjoyed! It is incredible snowdonia was definitely my favourite part of Wales for the scenery, And if you like climbing mountains I think it's one of the best in the UK!
Snowdonia and Anglesey are definitely my favourite parts of Wales, I actually just got back from another trip to Snowdonia a couple weeks ago as I felt like there was so much I missed the first time! So I've got more videos from Snowdonia coming soon!
Thanks for these tips. I am heading there tomorrow and the weather is going to be ABSOLUTELY SHITE by the looks of it. I did come prepared with raincoat but you had some nice ideas for things to do inside so thanks.
Thanks, glad you found the video helpful! I've been to Snowdonia many times over the years, and I think for 90% of those trips it was raining... just part of the Snowdonia charm😂
I'd definitely recommend it, I recently returned from Snowdonia again a couple weeks ago, so I've got more videos coming very soon from here, my favourite national park!
Eryri - Snowdonia Yr Wyddfa - Snowdon Rhyd ddu - Reed thee Ynys Lawd - South Stack Just call it Llanfairpwll - thats what we do Beddgelert 👍( only two miles from Dinas Emrys which is the origin of the Welsh dragon) Cricieth 👍 Good video 👍
Hey alex, great video. I can’t wait to see your future travels and videos. Ive been to wales before and this video just takes me back to wonderful memories. Keep it up!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thankyou! Glad you enjoyed! Wales is incredible one of my favourite parts of the UK. Epic coastlines, Castles, Mountains and more, what more could you want!😀
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a method to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
I may be inventing trivia here but I thought Llanfairpwllgwyn....was also the birthplace of the WI. Beddgelert is my favourite place in the world. I'm glad you noted the drinking establishments. Generally speaking, the ones nearer the bridge are better in the wet/cold, whilst the ones higher up aka the Royal Goat are better in the hotter balmy nights, should there be any!! Cadwaladers ice cream is a must in Criccieth. Subbed, gonna check out your playlist.
Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the info! I'm heading back to Snowdonia this summer so I'll definitely check out Cadwaladers in Cricceth, can't beat ice cream by the sea! 😂
Hey Alex! I love the pyg track of Snowdonia. Did you stay at the hostel at pen y pass? Right at the bottom of snowdon. Great place to stay and the start and end of the trek. Also Conwy castle Looks sick. Next time I climb I’ll for sure go visit! Keep it up dude. New sub here
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! The Pyg track is great, although next time I go I want to attempt the Crib Goch path and try a bit of scrambling! I didn't stay at the hostel because I didn't actually realise it was there, I'll definitely think about it next time though! And Conwy is an epic day trip!
Went to Holyhead then into snowdonia this weekend, snowdonia blew me away with its beauty! It’s incredible, I’m of to the Peak District national park next weekend, have you been any if so any recommendations ? :)
Funnily enough I'm back in the Peak District in around 3 weeks time so I'll be making some more videos from there! I have visited before although only for a couple of days but I would recommend Dovedale and Monsal Dale for 2 epic hikes! I also have a video about these 2 hikes on my channel in case you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/RYpY9QhKFiw/v-deo.html Have a great trip!
Indeed! There are quite a lot or regular buses going all over Snowdonia. Infact I believe as of right now its being advised that more people make use of the buses as Snowdonia is becoming overflowing with cars
New sub! These videos are just what I was looking for as inspo for our own Welsh road trip this summer. Are you planning on putting out the rest of your road trip videos any time soon?
These were the main 3 videos I made of my Welsh road trip, but basically, the structure of the trip was: Day 1 - Cardiff Day 2-5 - Pembrokeshire Coast & Tenby Day 6 - Aberystwyth Day 7-10 - Snowdonia And then I drove back along north coast of Wales. But I may make a final video putting everywhere in order and mapping out the full route of my road trip, as I've had a few requests now, so stay tuned!😃
I believe there are buses on all the main routes, it's only for any places that are off the beaten track you might have some issues if exploring by bus
Betws-y-Coed was great! We visited there recently, in fact I actually made a second top 10 things to do in Snowdonia as I felt that there were so many amazing places I missed out in this video. Here's a link in case you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/HO8XDzdmcXs/v-deo.html
I'm back in Conwy in a couple of weeks time, this time to explore inside the castle as it was closed last time, We'll be attempting some photography... so we'll see how it goes😂
Enjoy your trip! I actually just got back from a second trip to Snowdonia a couple weeks ago, in fact that's my next video coming soon! If you like hiking mountains but want to do something different to Snowdon, my recent Snowdonia highlight was climbing Glyder Fawr! ...absolutely incredible!
You can definitely explore without a car, there are quite a few buses, especially around Snowdon, we even used buses to explore around Snowdon because of just how busy the roads are/how difficult it is to find parking around that area
Snowdon may be the tallest mountain, south of the Scottish Highlands, but there are finer mountains, and mountain ranges, in the Snowdonia National Park. There's the incredible Carneddau, which see hardly any walkers, and my real favourite, is the Rhinog range, above Harlech. Do not put Snowdon at the top of your list, as you are missing a lot of equally fine mountains in such a compact area of North Wales
Thanks for the comment! And I agree, I just returned from another trip to Snowdonia last week and climbed Glyder Fawr... and I think it beat Snowdon on scenery, quietness, peacefulness and how fun it was to climb! Infact, I've got another video coming out soon with 10 more things to do in Snowdonia, as there's so much to do there!
I know! I didn't get time to climb tryfan and opted for Snowdon instead, but since then and hearing about tryfan I'm sad I missed it! I'll have to go back next summer and give it a go!!
Indeed, I have since learned this😂 I'm actually in Snowdonia right now making another video... so hopeully this time I can learn to say some Welsh words right!
@@AlexTravels1 well thanks for being a good sport about it instead of touchy. It's better to be corrected so you dont continue to use the wrong pronunciation I think. Snowdonia is so beautiful and fun so enjoy!!!! And I look forward to the new video

What a beautiful part of the world, need to get myself there one day.
I would definitely recommend it. Wales has some of the best scenery in the UK in my opinion!😀
Snowdonia is certainly a gem in Wales! Beautiful scenery, and a cracking list you've got there!
It definitely is! It's my favourite part of Wales, more mountains to climb than you could ever want!

Looks like a stunning part of Wales. Only been to Tenby but will def check out these other places when I am that way again, hopefully after covid

planning a trip right now, and this was super helpful. Thanks, Alex!
Glad it was helpful! I've got a final Wales video going up this week going through my road trip day by day around the Wales coastline!

wales is the best ! proud to live in it
It’s pronounced Rhyd De, which I only know thanks to riding on the Welsh highland railway! 👍🏻

My Teacher gave this video to me xD
Caernarfon Castle is where prince Charles was crowned the Prince of Wales.
Rhyd Ddu is pronounced Rreed Thee
not to nitpick but its spelled Beddgelert. (Bedd meaning grave in Welsh)
🤩👌
You missed tryfan :(
I know! I didn't get time to climb tryfan and opted for Snowdon instead, but since then and hearing about tryfan I'm sad I missed it! I'll have to go back next summer and give it a go!!
Gilbert 😔
Rhyd Ddu is pronounced Reed Thee
Thanks! I'm heading back to Snowdonia in a couple of weeks to climb this exact path... and now I can finally learn how to say it right!
Correction, Snowdon is not just the highest mountain in Wales, but the highest in both England and Wales!
Snowdon is not in England, though.
It is the highest mountain in England, Wales and St Helena too.
'Rhid Thee'
Thanks! I'll get my head around Welsh names one day! I'm heading back to Snowdonia in a couple weeks to do this exact path!
You really could have made a better effort at Welsh names. Rhyd Ddu sounds like "Rheed Thee". Criccieth sounds like "Crick Yeth".
I think it's pronounced conwee (conwy) not Conway
Indeed, I have since learned this😂 I'm actually in Snowdonia right now making another video... so hopeully this time I can learn to say some Welsh words right!
