this show really feels like it forgot the gods were immortal - not only in the physical sense but also in the sense that they've been alive for thousands of years and acquired stuff & people & also got some wisdom.
@@casthedemon what does that have to do with anything? We were talking about the fictional history of the greek gods. Are you just trying to avoid admitting you were wrong?
19:00 its funny that you'd mention that because technically you have heard of demons in greek mythology, literally all the nymphs and gods can be called the greek word daimon, which was used when writing the new testament to translate the hebrew concept of foreign gods, and thus not the true god, so daimon went from meaning supernatural being to -> evil supernatural being
Is there an actual source note for ichor being gold? It seems like it changes based on setting, Aphrodite and Ares, when struck by Diomedes, bleed 'blood' that is also ichor, but no color is mentioned. Aphrodite's skin became black around the wound but besides that, nothing. I can only find blood/ichor/watery-liquid, with no specific color mention. I want it to be gold mind you, that's awesome, but since you've mentioned it a lot on your channel I figured you might know an exact source (so I can know it(I hoard information and source quotes like a greek goblin))
I just looked it up and the classical sources don't describe it's colour however it can be assumed that it's not red as it is said that: "the ichor, such as floweth in the blessed gods; for they eat not bread neither drink flaming wine, wherefore they are bloodless" it's not a fact but it can be speculated that Homer associated blood with the colour red. (In many cultures and beliefs wine was associated with blood because of it's colour after all, so it's not too far-fetched to assume that) There is also a text in english that mentioned Zeus' vein being blood-red but the original greek text seems to not mention any colour. However nectar and ambrosia seem to have been associated with honey and there seems to be evidence that people called mead the drink of the gods. If ambrosia is indeed golden/yellow, which we don't know for sure, it's very likely that ichor is also golden considering it's described as "ambrosial"
@@tami7992 Thats what I figured, the quotes you cited were from the events I cited LOL, I was wondering if MG had any specific sources. I'll still take you as confirmation though, because gold blood is cool asf ;)

I feel like a lot of the bad things in this show are due to the fact that the studio was also doing Castlevania at the time. And of course they'd want to focus more on Castlevania as its they're big hit.
The word Demon is based on the Greek Daimons/Daemons which are more like House/Loci Spirits which are generally neutral or foreign ethics compared to Humans. @@TheMythologyGuy1 don't know if you have ever watched anime but, at 23:34 you guys say that this animation is like DC animated movies and that the artstyle doesn't match, but the animation it's inspired by anime so, watch Ninja Scroll, Vinland Saga, Attack on Titan or Castlevania and you'll see that this artstyle goes hand to hand with gore and violence.

I loved watching this. i also really liked the show. ur verdict of "its fine" is also justified and interesting reasons etc.
I liked it for the most part because after the first episode I was just like “Oh... your just not even going to try and be accurate? Ummm... Ok.”
I thought the show was fairly accurate. Sure it may be an original story, but I dont think they represented the mythos too wrong
You were expecting accuracy? When the show itself tells you it's a new thing?
