Unity - Procedural Building Generator Tool - Feature Showcase

  • I made this tool in unity for my own games but i want to release it on Unity Asset Store after developing it more for game developers and designers to use.
    Current version of the tool includes:
    -Prefab based wall generation (you need to create or have matching prefabs for blank,windowed,doored wall types)
    -You can specify height,width,depth of the building (you can have 0 height to only use the ground floor)
    -Change wall size to fit the wall prefab size or fit the walls together as you like
    -Ability to generate roof and ground floors (flat for now)
    -Ability to generate addons on top of ground and roof floors
    -Use style asset to get varied buildings
    -Static batching and mesh combining for better performance
    -Procedural settings with a lot of variables
    -Randomizer addon with a timer
    -Each roof or ground addon has a component that lets you change its rotation by 90 degrees ,spawn an additional object alongside it for more variety (not showcased in the video)
    The tool doesn’t use mesh generation; instead, it generates buildings using variety of prefabs. Currently, the tool only supports very primitive cube-shaped buildings, but I have plans to add a wide range of features, including:
    -Exploring different procedural generation techniques.
    -Enhancing the inspector window and improving workflow.
    -Adding a Gizmos tool for speeding up workflow.
    -Providing more optimization options.
    -Expanding building and roof shape options, such as uneven shapes,
    rounded corners, floors with different properties, cone and cylindrical roofs, and separate roof structures.
    -The ability to generate rooms inside buildings.
