How should long Covid patients approach treatment, let alone everyday life? In this episode, Sanjay speaks to David Putrino, the director of rehabilitation innovation for the Mount Sinai Health System. He tells us about his latest research into identifying a possible biomarker for the condition and how we can all help those at high risk of developing it.

Thank you for interviewing Dr Putrino and continuing to educate people on this very important topic: Long Covid. I got covid once in January 2022 and it completely derailed my life. Completely. I am not old, i am not overweight, i have no underlying conditions, I was not scared of covid. I wish i had my pre covid life/brain back. These past 2 years have been a nightmare. Make no mistake - covid could derail your life too.

Thanks for the information, Dr. Gupta. I had Covid in June 2020 and have been a shadow of my former self since then because of Long Covid. It’s nice to hear my symptoms described and given names because it reminds me I did not just suddenly get old, senile, and out of shape for no reason. It’s also nice to know not everybody has moved on from Covid. The continued research gives me hope that one day I may feel better.
There are several critical comments on here by persons who, it seems, do not have Long Covid or have a loved one with it. I suggest these people realize they do not have enough facts to have a constructive opinion.
I also got Covid over 18 months ago and was so weak, breathless and weak for over a year that I did not get to see a doctor & was alone for a lot of it just sleeping, coughing & with chest pain if I walked even for a minute - it felt as if I was going to have a heart attack the pain was so bad. I rarely get a cold, do not smoke & my only 'pre existing condition' was possibly that I was a stone or so overweight due to a knee injury, also I am over 55 years old etc. I am still not able to walk anything like the distances I could do (knee pain and all) & I find I still have slightly noisy breathing and fatigue easily etc. It is horrific & I am disgusted, like you are, that so so many people are insulting, sceptical and more about people suffering from this terrible long term condition. I saw that even doctors now acknowledge that 'Long Covid' is real & stopping millions of people in the UK & no doubt worldwide from being able to work or even do basic tasks daily. It seems that 'Covid' was created as a Bioweapon by the psychopaths who rule the planet to depopulate & other evil reasons Of course billions now have been scared, coerced into getting 'vaccinated' which injections are not vaccines it has been discovered after analysis by scientists working for truth (eg Dr Jane Ruby, Dr Ana Mihalcea & many more who have been silenced by MSM, Social Media etc for trying to tell the truth & to warn people about the lethal 'vaccines'. I feel angry that these criminals have created such poisons to kill billions of people so that they can have the planet to themselves etc. I know people who have had Covid, even more than once, but not noticed any long term symptoms afterwards & also some who have. I hope those insulting people with Long Covid get the same illness themselves so they can realise how wrong they were,

On Christmas Day, my GF and I spent 7 hours visiting, eating, and chatting with about 17 people who are all fully vaccinated. At least 8 of them are either currently sick with covid or just getting over it.
(My GF actually rode to the event and back in a car w two fully jabbed people who were currently covid pos and sick/showing symptoms for 12 hours each way… without a mask).
One guy who is also fully vaccinated and recently boosted tested positive for covid on the 23rd, so chose to stay home/missed the party.
Neither of us have had any vaccines at all, and are doing just fine today w zero symptoms.
Have since heard from several hundred other unjabbed folks that report experiencing the exact same thing over the holidays.

@mamaslomba. Same here, tho I am old but was really fit for my age. Never stopped. Even covid cleaned my church at the beginning. I'm a shell of who I was. Physically and mentally wiped out. Life has almost stopped. I've tried fighting it, which i was warned about but I'm really floored now. Not safe to drive. I can feel like a 10 minute trip to the shop and find myself in the midddle of the road or even the other side. You people who mock this illness should be grateful that you've not experienced it. I've had covid 3 times now. The last time just over 2 years ago. Three months before that also. The first time was just before it was discovered .
11 months in, was getting better but had setbacks from diverticulitis (likely caused by covid damage) and a 2nd infection of something over xmas. Just tried Ivermectin with incredible results. This and Wim Hoff breathing and cold exposure are what has helped me for sure. Tried tons of other stuff without clear results. Yup, Ivermectin, or horse paste according to CNN...
Long covid will be forgotten just like chronic lyme, reactivated Epstein Barr, and chronic fatigue. I have been diagnosed with all four. Three have had positive tests. ME/CFS has no test.
I really don't know what it will take unless some type of activism happens with like AIDS patients.
@user-mw9bd2ey6s In my case, Epstein Barr and Lyme disease have both come back positive, as did covid. I disagree with your conclusion. Actually, testing has been done on muscle biopsy from both people with ME/CFS and healthy individuals. The muscle tissues are different. As someone who contracted COVID-19 as early as January 2020 and was recovering fairly well from its effects, I can support Dr. Putrino's suspicion that the recovery process was not only halted but made worse by the administration of a series of booster shots. It has left me with a very limited ability to perform physical tasks as well as memory loss and other cognitive issues. Unless the role of booster shots is thoroughly investigated, the chances of finding a cure remain slim.
The NIH has three viable interventions listed in their research.
Shout out to Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins for being key players in unleashing this disease upon the world.

Sanjay you were one of our friends back in the day at U of M and when u went to work at Jackson’s only hospital back in the 1990’s. That was exactly what I thought. Now I have long Covid...it will educare you really fast. My whole family has it and expecially my disabled son. We really have it tough no one feels good enough to take care of everyone.
Just because you are ok does not mean that others do not suffer badly ie everyone is different & doctors now recognise that the illness is real. Hope you get the more serious version given how smug you are.
