- Colima, Mexico is the 4th smallest state in the country, it’s no wonder why it doesn’t see a lot of tourism. In this video, we explore some of Colima’s rural towns. First we visit El Remate, where we have a delicious meal at the restaurant “El Remate, Tradición y Sabor.”
Then, we make our way to La Yerbabuena, the community closest to the Volcan de Fuego de Colima (The Fire Volcano of Colima, one of Mexico’s most active volcanoes).
Lastly, we end the day at La Terraza de Mary, a coffee shop with a great view of the volcanoes.

I want to visit Colima now! Thank you for the video.
May is BEAUTIFUL!!
So nice to be with families 😊
I love your videos.😍 I am visiting for the first time this week.
"Nobody really visits here". That's the main reason for travel. To go places nobody else goes. Example:Anthony Bourdain.
I love to see the town and meet the people and the culture when I visit another country. Very interesting dishes!
Thank you Angie! We look forward to visiting your home country some day! The food is always one of the best parts of any country. :) ¡Un saludo! -Jim
Thank you

I really like seeing you 2 in Mexico again!
It’s nice to see you guys again! Are you going back to Puerto Rico? Nice part of Mexico. Would like to see more of it. Thank you guys.

Beautiful video!
What a wonderful casual video! It was great seeing your parents, too. I’d love to visit there sometime. Between your UA-cam channel and your Spanish and Go membership with the weekly practice group online, I feel like I’m getting to know you and it’s been awesome, thank you 🤗
Thanks so much, Jennifer! We're glad you enjoyed it. We almost didn't release this video because we mainly wanted to try out our new camera, but it was a fun way to show what Mexico is like away from touristy areas. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! ¡Un abrazo! 🤗 -Jim
Such a fun day!❤️❤️🌞🌴
It was!
OMG you are from colima, my tiny hometown.

Beautiful!
I need to know what places are good to stay and be nice to have someone to be a guide.😀
It seem like its cool in the evening.
Enjoy & stay safe.
I'm in Jalisco but im from Colima. 👍
Comala is a nice place to stay. Hotel Posada Comala is a good choice with basic amenities near downtown. From there you can visit the volcanoes, try the local traditional beverages like tuba (you can watch our video about some of them here: ua-cam.com/video/kCnM0OWOfbM/v-deo.html), the local coffee, and excellent food. Colima is fairly hot until you get up by the volcano. Thanks for watching! -Jim
Hotel Posada! I’ve been staying there for years now. Clean, basic and there is a little cafe on the premises.
I lived in Colima for 4 months, recently. Very authentic but very unsafe for such a small city. People going down every single night ! The news there always end with.....The suspects never were detained.
Full of reatauranta per capita, it is insane ! I suspect it ia from money laundering...Visit the Volcanos (de Fuego y Nevado) while you are there..Comala, Manzanillo, many lagunas to visit.
You will feel the poverty the poverty comparing to Guadalajara.
Una vez vinieron a Comala en un festival de día de muertos y nunca lo subieron :"( ni a Instagram 💔
I been looking for my dad and he lives in Colima I haven’t see. Him since he was deported.
Definitely need to find him! My mom was deported and stayed in Colima . Hopping to visit her soon
Nice country
I noticias that you guess always have something to criticize when you go anywhere in PR but when you are in MX everything is hunky dory!
I think you've only seen a few of our videos if that's the impression you get. We just tell it as we see it. Mexico has its own problems too. -Jim
I’m sure you guys have answered this already before but why did you move to Puerto Rico?
You're right! We talk about that in this video: ua-cam.com/video/KgfFDTeuu40/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching! -Jim
@@SpanishandGo awesome thanks for the info. Crazy immigration process! But I’m glad you guys are figuring it out. Thanks so much for your content guys! I’m finding the podcast so helpful and enjoyable and I just want to thank you so much for all your work. Btw Jim, did you record the song “yung gravity” cause that song is a low key slap lol.
Keep it up guys!
Colima en estos momentos esta pasando una crisis de inseguridad la estan pasando muy pero muy mal
Huitlacoche suena más mejor que ‘corn smut’.
😂 ¡Estoy de acuerdo, Rob! 😂 -Jim
Ohh wow u guys travel...would give u NYC tour for free if u ever here...Tours by Chef Gabiel at NYC..free for yall
Cidade mais violenta do mundo?
Nobody visits because it's on the DO NOT TRAVEL list.
I’m so scared I’m shaking in my boots.
@@SpanishandGo You should be another American was kidnapped there today. The US govt does not have this state on the Do Not Travel List for nothing. Smarty Pants.
There were were 51 school shootings in the US last year. Just under 350 people under the age of 21 have been abducted by strangers in the United States per year, on average. While tragic, Mexico is the 13th largest country in the world and you’re concerned about a few kidnappings of u.S. citizens. You’re blowing the news out of proportion.
@@SpanishandGo Imagine not understanding the concept of "per capita." It's literally THE most violent place on the planet outside of a direct warzone. I love the old "durr America has school shootings" cope. First, most of the "school shootings" you see listed were not "school shootings": they were unrelated, targeted shootings between hostile acquaintances that happened on a school property, usually gang violence and generally in a secluded parking lot, not shootings that were a danger to the public at large. The number is inflated, because only America lists these as "school shootings" while other countries don't.
53 known school property shootings out of over 120,000 school, colleges and universities. 44 victim deaths, 21 of which were from a single attack, the 3rd worst ever, not a pattern. 18/23 remaining deaths were targeted shootings, almost all between mutual criminals, that happened to be on a school-owned property, where the school location itself was not a primary factor. Almost all were after school hours, most after a night football game where local criminals and gangs fight in parking lots. Calling these "school shootings" would be like calling all public shootings "sidewalk shootings", when the sidewalk location itself is not at all important to the crime.
