There will never be another band quite like the Grateful Dead. To Deadheads, they were less of a rock group and more like bonafide religious figures.
It's been 27 years since the Grateful Death played their last show at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 9, 1995. One month later on August 9th, the band's leader, legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia died of a heart attack.
Dead & Company, a Grateful Dead tribute band of sorts, fronted by John Meyer on guitar and featuring former Grateful Dead members, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzman have been playing sold-out shows since their formation in 2015.
While Dead & Co. are a solid act, Old-school Deadheads will tell you that there will never be anything like an authentic Grateful Dead show from back in the day.
In this video, we'll be taking a look at the Grateful Dead members who have died. We'll cover all of the major names while also taking the time to honor a couple of the lesser-known ones.
All Grateful Dead Members Who Died (RIP) - Розваги
I implore you to re-edit this piece and give Vince Welnick the attention he so richly deserves. My heart still aches for the man.
Poor Vince Welnick.....the man never got the respect he deserves.
You know, things like not being included in "All Grateful Dead Members Who Died (RIP)" is kinda why Vince Welnick isn't with us anymore.
EXACTLY...
Oof
It is so sad
Brents death still haunts/hurts me the most. What is so love/likeable about him, who knows. I just love the man.
Absolutely love Brent playing and the man could sing incredibly well.
Dead Head for life here. Followed them for five years, and I was at their last show. I was in shock when Jerry died. I had to to go back to "normal" life and I do not think I have ever recoverd completely. :(
You're clueless, pathetic. How does one remain so ignorant when they have access to the internet?
@@badassmother1426....shows how much you know to judge people you don't even know off the internet by their little comment, pttttt!🤭 go somewhere else with that garbage...I hope you know where I'm talking about!

We're happy to see a Grateful Dead fan! Thank you for sharing your life story. What can we do to brighten up your day?
@@FactsVerse Tell everyone how the CIA distributed LSD at concerts and who's parents were agents here.
Jerry is my favorite. The Grateful Dead will never ever die because of us. The Dead Heads.
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
No mention of Vince Welnick
My son's harmonica instructor was once the housekeeper for pigpen
Interesting, thank you so much for sharing this. What other types of videos would you like to see on our channel?
@@FactsVerse How about recruiting for Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In? The same harmonica instructor was friends of Robin Williams when Robin was a bartender at a comedy club. They also recruited in the area for 'Laugh-In' which was bizarre even for those times.
Jerry Garcia: Born In 1995: Nice One ~
Died in August 1995 ~
Yeah I caught that too, lol.
Died in '95.

"Facts Verse" I guess the "Verse" part of "Facts Verse" excuses all the wrong stuff that seems to be in a lot of their posts.
The Rolling Stones are the reason why i never got into the Grateful Dead, but one day i might have a listen to the Dead's catalog of music.
that is truly a horrible reason, the two bands are next to nothing alike
I always loved pigpen. When he'd sing turn on your love light in concert it was electric.

I always wince-then-click when I see channels cover the Grateful Dead. This was really well done. Nice work
Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of videos would you like to see?
I thought the same, but the exclusion of Vince Welnick seemed like a glaring omission. It's not that I'm a huge Vince fan, it's just that he deserved to be on this list and he's not.
You forgot vince wellnick
My cat played better than Vince...
@@FloridaDave_ im sure , but he still played keyboards 90 -95 ...and is dead
Uh... Vince Welnick...?
Mydland was the greatest musician and singer I ever saw.
The Grateful Dead is a just legendary band.
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Well jerry and bob are obvious choices but Bret made the band so much stronger in my opinion. I was a late starting dead head and didn’t go to my first show till 1984. FYI I was at a show in I think 1990 in a town called alsip Illinois. It was the same night Pink Floyd was playing at the Berlin Wall. I thought he actually was taken off stage that show and passed. I’m sure they are partying in heaven
This was a good video..the dead has always been the best music ...bc so many people had a hand in its creation .. a collaboration of talents tht all played its role to make the music an the scene timeless ..we all are chasing the music ... the dead found a way to include so may people who all kept it goin and played a part ..woof woof to my dead fam road dogz ..i love u all

I was lucky enough to have dinner with Mr. Barlow in Pinedale. He was a very intelligent and courteous man. We had a great steak and sipped a scotch as we talked about his lyrics. Later he sent me a copy of Weather Report Suite on his ranch stationary. Looking back, I can't see why he took the time to do that for someone he just met. He was a class act. Every time I hear thunder, it shouts, "I am!"
Jerry was born in 1995. AND died in 1995. He's Jerry. He can do that. ;)
Jerry was my favorite because we were very close ! I still I love him !
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see?
Where's Vince Welnick?
Jerry died in 1995
🤔
"Born Jerome John Garcia on August 9, 1995, Jerry was best known for being the lead guitarist." LOL
What a class act
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
My favorite is Keith and Donna I also like Brent Midland from 1979 to 1982 I think Keith and Donna are a great any year they were in the band
The Dead rule! Also, Godchaux is pronounced Godchaw.
although vince wasnt the greatest keyboardist,he was a full time member of the band from 1990 to1995
I loved the members who also died but I did meet most of the Gratefuldead with Brent ! ♥️🐰🐇🌹🌈☄️⭐️🥀😢😥😰🥵🥶
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing!
Pig was my fave
VINCE WELNICK !!!
Jeez, Capt Garcia was a time traveller long before it was "cool".
You're forgetting the dead other ones further
Thanks for the info! We'll check the video. What other types of video would you like to see?
Garcia
If named for the fallen, the courageous ones, do those who've been through it understand calling them the grateful dead?
Touch of Gray. The only Dead song I like.
So Jerry Garcia was born 1995? Huh...
I'm pretty sure Jerry Garcia wasn't born in 1995.
Some of this info is wrong/incorrect...
After Jerry died the music did stop.
Sad but true. What is your favorite song of All Grateful Dead?
Pigpen didn’t bring any jazz to the Dead.
first 3 times lol
Amazing! We're grateful for your dedication. What other videos would you like to see on our channel?
Jerry was the Grateful Dead... Everything else is just wishing
Garcia born in 95 huh? What a damn joke this is SMH
Greatest drug dealers ever.
Horrible thing to say.
