Honestly, I've checked every remarkable review out there, and yours are simply the best. Definitely helped me actually place the order. Now I'm "patiently" waiting to finally get my hands on the tablet. If you get a firmware update at some point, please do another review! While the device looks really good already as it is, it also looks like it needs some more basic features that most users would expect from it. Thank you again!
Great video. I have been eyeballing the reMarkable for some time, and talked a friend about the tablet over the summer. I don't recall my wife knowing about my interest in the tablet, but she bought me one for Christmas. I've just started to get into the reMarkable. Seeing your video was incredibly helpful. Cheers!
Again - amazing and super helpful video. Definitely ordering. ReMarkable needs to hire you to make a "Welcome to/Instructional" video - -with directions to the video in the instruction manual. One of the (many) great things about having watched your reMarkable videos all the way to the one month impressions is that I am prepared for the bugs and won't be surprised and will be less frustrated. And your review of the responses from the company help us to be patient as we wait for the updates. Will definitely be coming back to see what you post about updates. And I loved seeing Maka again. Thanks again!
Thank you for your reviews - like many others, I'm waiting for my unit to be delivered. Also, it's really good to know that drag-and-drop of files without going through a dedicated application works; being able to connect the device to any kind of computer, even one running Linux, will really make things easier to me.
Hi Dimitri, what do you think about the 2 most important limitations of Remarkable? I'm talking about: 1) importing. It's hard and long (if even possible) to get my books and instantpaper articles on the device. This is a very bad limitation. 2) files manipulation: epub books don't allow interactivity such as menu links to jump to paragraph or word searching. I love the way the device feels but I think there is still a long way to go on the software side... I suggest people to consider this before purchasing. Best
16:23 LOL :D +1 for the nice review. One question! are the drawings vector or pixel? when exporting the drawings can I export as PDf and edit the paths in adobe illustrator?
Note before you read on: I am a hard-core paper guy. My four weeks of pro usage: (This is personal usage as well as intensive pro business usage in meetings, telcos and in preparing illustrative sketches for diverse presentations) - Has it replaced *all* my paper? (moleskin, printed stuff, loose paper sheets...): yes, completely - Are there bugs? Yes but nothing I can't live with ... for now. The baddest: poor wifi connection / logon feature. Many hotspots simply aren't logonable (is that a word?) due to missing "minimal browser" features - Missing features? Yes... oh yes! The point is: this is so good that your brain generates a rather long list of features to "absolutely" have My top-of-list right now includes *) clipboard (cut n paste) between pages AND between documents *) Please update the persistence feature to remember my pen settings *) A "tag/keyword" feature to type in some tags/keywords on my written documents --> make search a real feature. The "Bookmarks" feature isn't cutting it *) Templates management & "make your own templates" feature: Let me get rid of the templates I rarely use and let me design and add my own. In fact: where is the template "app store" equivalent? Let me "star" label the few templates I actually mostly use so they come up on top of the list. *) Double-tap on the keyboard "shift" key: please make that the standard "caps lock" as on the rest of the planet .. and then I'd make an API to open up the "crowd" to extend and make for a vibrant clan. Someone would surely make that integration with gDoc too. ... (I might do it...) C'mon ReMarkable: don't go down the path of Apple creating a super-walled garden. Bottom line: Goodbye paper! Thanks ReMarkable Team!
Hi Vojislav, thanks for the great review. I'm wondering if the tablet has either a 'split screen' mode or a 'toggle' mode to allow you to switch between a PDF/EPUB file and a notebook. I intend to use my tablet in class where I would frequently need to flip between assigned readings (usually PDFs) and an empty notebook to take class notes. I'm hoping that there is a function that would allow me to do this! Thanks.
Thanks for the honest review. What excites me about remarkable is the OSS background of the founders and the hackability of the software. It seems like most problems with remarkable can be answered with "write software to solve the problem for you," which seems to be encouraged by the remarkable team. As long as the problems are with software, not hardware, and they can be solved by pushing new code, this seems like an exciting product.
Nice t=1mo check-in. You mentioned that there aren't any other comparable devices though, have you looked at the similar products by Sony and Boox, and if so what are your thoughts on those vs. the ReMarkable?
A quick note about the battery: I found the first few days the battery was running very low and needed to charge it every day, after the 3rd day I charged the remarkable but this time after the charge I completely turned the device off not just sleep mode , but completely off and then back on , now for some reason my remarkable battery is fantastic, it’s holding the charge and I don’t need to charge it , I am not sure if the turning off and on helps after the charge , but it seems to have done the trick for me.
It looks like it worked for me, I have also noticed that the more you charge the remarkable over time the longer the charge seems to last, I am now getting well over 8 to 10 days from a single charge, the first week it was only a couple of days,
@Vojislav Dimitrijevic hi I really think it’s working better once you charge and turn off completely did you manage to replicate it ? My remarkable is now running 100% better, and I am sure it’s also running faster.
Yes my remarkable is now running for over 8 days on a charge ( after a complete turn off after charging ) I also know it’s worked for other people ( just make sure you let the battery run down to around 2-3% then do a re charge to 100 % and the turn the remarkable off completely ( not just in sleep mode)
Hey, very good reviews there, thank you! What do you think about the Onyx Boox Note? Just from what I saw on the internet it made an even better impression on me (maybe not the paper feel). Now I'm wondering what to buy, because I really love that technology...
Hi Vojislav, thank you very much for your detailed reviews :) i have a question for you about the stylus tips. i know that they wear off while using and that this is the reason for it to feel so paper-like. but i would purchase it as a complete paper replacement for my phd and there in all my classes i write so much everyday for notes and problem sets etc and i am a bit concerned that they wouldnt last very long and i would have to buy new ones all the time (this wouldnt be very problematic if it wasnt for their price, for europe 8 tips are 12 euros plus 29 euros delivery :O twentynine, thats insane). so my question, as i trust you, have you tried it with another stylus or pen or whatever, and if yes does it work and how well? and you said there is something on top of the tips that make the feeling, how does writing feel without it, ie when the tip normally should be replaced? Thank you so much for your time. i know these questions could sound silly but for me it would be the reason to buy or not to buy and i really want to have it ;) cheers
Some user in the remarkable facebook page wrote that the Samsung S Pen and Staedtler Stylus are also working with the remarkable. But due to the fact that their tips are different the feeling is not like with the remarkable pen. It seems that the remarkable tips look like the samsung tips. So maybe it is possible to use the samsung replacement nips for the remarkable pen. facebook.com/remarkableAS/posts/885330964966554
Hi, for the tip durability, I would say it worn out supper supper fast. I’ve been using it for 1 day continuously fr the morning till night and I already easily realized the worn out. As I use the pen whole day to write down my learning summary, I really love the feeling but how fast the tip worn out be, make me really concern on keep replacing the marker tip. For my package, I have total 10 tips but I will not wanna use them up within a few months using. So for me, I am thinking of a combination method, in which, I might end up buying a Rocket book (a reusable book, using very popular Pilot pen, you might have more info from google for it), this book will help me sync whatever I write (in traditional way with pen and paper) to my phone my drive etc. then I will sync these to remarkable. And the pen, I will save it for note taking or just short writing only. It’s a pity as I really really like the feeling of writing directly on Remarkable, but I doubt the tip short worn out time will serve much for people who heavy use the writing or sketching experience on it.
I've been enjoying your videos and think this is a nice product and would love to get one. A question I have is about saving documents you write on this device, can they be saved as a pdf? Sorry if that's been asked or if an obvious question. I ask because there is an Android app called Squid that is a writing app and you can write notes and save as pdf... and between that and this device I'm deciding on buying a new Android tablet, or this reMarkable tablet.
Regarding the missing text search function. I am curious to see if there are any workaround for now. Is it possible to make notes and export to PDF then search texts on a computer? In other words, does export to PDF make the text unsearchable?
@Vojislav Dimitrijevic I've noticed that my eink devices drains battery really quickly when (wifi or bluetooth don't know which) is on (lasts a day). But when I turn off wifi/bluetooth it lasts for weeks.
Thanks a lot Vojislav. It seem a very paper replaceable device. I take a lot of notes for my work and I don't find my iPad the best device because interaction of other apps, the unwanted swipe to another app just buy moving my hand and the glass and unusable in sunlight.
I'm still not clear on the PDF annotations: PDF highlighting is simply a freehand drawing on top of the PDF(and not bound to the underlying text in an OCR'd PDF as most PDF readers do)?
That was my question. Too bad that we can't sync with Evernote. My dream device today would be reMarkable powered by Evernote, or something like that =)
Hi Vojislav, I just received my device. I‘m very surprised about the very very dark screen. Why it looks like recycled paper, even darker. But it seems that I‘m the only one who don’t like it because noone is talking about this point. What do you think?
Mina Nichtdiemama Is this not your first e-ink device? If you’ve had previous experience with whiter screen (esp. kindle), remarkable might look much darker, mainly because of the additional layer for touch capacitance. It’s a trade-off for having better stylus+touch functionality.
could you help me how to down load Bible on my remarkable? I am really bad at all kinds of electric device like this but I am determined to learn and master of this. Help me seems like you are really really good at it!
I received it yesterday, When I use the eraser and zoom in and out tool. It randomly lacking and sometime the screen froze for few seconds. Is that normal?
I received my remarkable tablet today. I'm struggling to write on remarkable tablet because my arm keep pressing "next button". Is there any feature where I can disable the button while writing it down?
I want to use the reMarkable paper tablet as a thinking tool. Could you review the reMarkable as a thinking tool? I believe that the necessary requirements for thinking tools are as follows: 1. I’d go crazy without these videos too 🙈 one month delay for the October people 😭😭😭

great video!
can't wait to get mine! I'm in batch #2
Great video my remarkable just arrived it’s fantastic
When did you order Darren?
Juneau Gold back in may 👍 it’s a fantastic device

Thanks for your videos, dude.
Hei! Flotte videoer om reMarkable! Kan du lage en om den nye oppdateringen som akkurat har blitt rullet ut? :)
I've been enjoying your videos and think this is a nice product and would love to get one. A question I have is about saving documents you write on this device, can they be saved as a pdf? As ever you do excellent reviews. Can you change text setting or resolutions on PDF files. Text setting is only available on Ebooks-thank you
Thank you for this review gave me a very good perspective on the device
@Vojislav Dimitrijevic
I've noticed that my eink devices drains battery really quickly when (wifi or bluetooth don't know which) is on (lasts a day). But when I turn off wifi/bluetooth it lasts for weeks.
For the note books, am I able to move around pages ? For example, I have page 7 of 7. I want to move page 6 to the page 3 spot.
have you try update the software ? what do you think about new software on remarkable?
Thanks a lot Vojislav. It seem a very paper replaceable device. I take a lot of notes for my work and I don't find my iPad the best device because interaction of other apps, the unwanted swipe to another app just buy moving my hand and the glass and unusable in sunlight.
I'm still not clear on the PDF annotations: PDF highlighting is simply a freehand drawing on top of the PDF(and not bound to the underlying text in an OCR'd PDF as most PDF readers do)?
Whilist taking notes sometimes my hand selects the home button. Is there a way to turn off the home button when taking notes-thanks
Hello and thanks for the review. Can you sync the notes to evernote?
That was my question. Too bad that we can't sync with Evernote. My dream device today would be reMarkable powered by Evernote, or something like that =)
The battery life of my remarkable is barely one day.. Isn't it anormal ? Should I ship it back to the company ?
Question: in a new note, after adding a new page, do you scroll up/down or left/right? Cuz when I write math I need the notes to be vertical
yes I noticed the page turning (key back/forward), I thought maybe it's also possible to do vertical page scrolling, which is idle for math writing.
Where do u find there tips and tricks u talked about?
Pulling a recharge when connected USB?
Can you please show how to transfer PDF files to eBook? When i try to do it all files appear in "Documents" but not in eBook folder.... Thank you!😊
Hi Vojislav, I just received my device. I‘m very surprised about the very very dark screen. Why it looks like recycled paper, even darker. But it seems that I‘m the only one who don’t like it because noone is talking about this point. What do you think?

I received my remarkable tablet today. I'm struggling to write on remarkable tablet because my arm keep pressing "next button". Is there any feature where I can disable the button while writing it down?
It happens sometimes actually. No, you can't disable the button, it should be hopefully a new feature in the future.
Come one, imagine if it was a tactile button. There more bugs here that need attention, without disrespect ;)
How about the lifetime of the tips in your experience?
I want to use the reMarkable paper tablet as a thinking tool.
Could you review the reMarkable as a thinking tool?
I believe that the necessary requirements for thinking tools are as follows:
1. You can write letters and pictures freely
2. You can erase or modify letters / pictures
3. You can move or enlarge / reduce the letters / pictures you wrote
4. It is easy to think the above 1 to 3 operation without interruptions
If you can do the above, you can write out your thought for the time being, then you can reorganize it systematically.
With handwriting, 1 is realizable, but 2 to 4 are stressful.
In digital tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, etc., I concentrate on using tools, and free ideas are suppressed.
The thinking tool must solve these problems and meet the conditions 1 to 4.

Yasuhiro Yamada Is there a second edition out, don’t really want to spend all that money and a new one comes out. Thanks
any new coments about using the tablet?
great one
I'm having GAS right now waiting for my order coming in late October T.T
also how can one read the pdf in landscape mode?
Magic battery, reMarkable!
Maka!
You can convert your handwriting to a normal font like arial/times.
Blow the pen from time to time :D :D To be honest, really nice review (y) :)
drinking game: every time you say: "really really" u drink:D... just joking man, i quite enjoyed the review.. looking forward to mine:) cheers mate

Hi what do you think about the new firmware update ? 👍
