What a genuine guy this fella is. You can imagine him as a kid down the local working mens club taking tenners of all the old boys. Absolutely love his snooker his personality and fun loving attitude to everything. Love to go for a pint with him. Legend.

@@AverageAtBestHDTB My guess is that it's just something a bunch of people have come up with to be annoying and make sure "nothing looks perfect", and it just stayed as a habit. I'm pretty sure they don't even care anymore, just do it automatically.

Asking and receiving snacks from the crowd in the final itself. Pure Mark Williams. One of my favourite players ive seen play. My others are Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump, Jimmy White and Neil Robertson all because they are a joy to watch at full throttle.
Nobody sees the crazy shots that Mark can see, let alone take them on and then make them. A real genius on a snooker table. Maximum entertainment value.

I love Mark Williams, he seems such a great guy with a brilliant sense of humour. People don't seem to talk about him often but I don't know why because he is an amazing snooker player too, actually, he is a secret snooker magician, wow, some of the plants he plays and pots nobody else could do, not even Ronnie could play a lot of the shots you saw. Absolutely awesome!!!
From now on he's officially a legend. Three times winner plus the biggest gap between two titles, 15 years.

When Mark Williams, John Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan are no longer playing, that will be a sad day for the sport. They all turned pro in 1992. O'Sullivan needs only 3 more titles to tie Stephen Hendry's record of 36, and 52 more centuries for 1000 in his career, while John Higgins could still surpass Hendry in titles and centuries, he won't catch O'Sullivan. Meanwhile, Mark Williams looks like he's having so much fun when he plays. What great players!

@Daniel Burke John was never a cheat, but his manager was. He fixed that. The big issue was not tell the league officials about what happened.

Thanks for the upload. This epitomises what was so great about this year's championship. I started watching it from the second round and straight away I could see that Williams was in phenomenal form. It was a weird kind of form, because he did miss a hell of a lot of easy/medium shots (especially in the semi-final against Hawkins) which normally would dump a player out of a big competition. These were lapses of concentration I guess. However, Williams never let it affect him, and he just kept knocking in outrageous shots. That's what won him the championship. So entertaining to watch. I want to see a final set up between Williams and that other great player of the class of '92 - O'Sullivan. I hope Williams keeps this form. If he can just address those lapses in concentration he could be unbeatable.

What's amazing about this compilation from Williams is how many pots he made from distance slow rolling the cueball. I don't know what he did with his cue action but it worked!

Thanks a lot. Your compilation is superb, unmatched and deserve a million views. Judging by these shots alone, anyone can safely say that Mark Williams was at a Zen-state of Mind at the Crucible, and by converting so many almost-impossible shots the (blindly!) way he did just confirms it! You should edit the Title: those were not 'crazy' at all - those were indeed 'Magical' or even 'Sublime' moments.
I mean, look at that shot at 8:38 mark (pun!); that was simply un-be-lie-va-ble!
If I were told that a snooker player once, on the losing side of a 13-11 match during the World Snooker Championship Semi-finals, was attempting to make a Red ball play the Cue's job and goes poting another Red via a one-cushion bounce to hit the other Red at a reverse angle, just so the Cue stays at the Black to win the frame, I'd think that guy urgently needed to undergo some mental scrutiny, asap - but that was verbatim what Mark Williams did!!! A clear & logical vision, mathematical imagination and sheer creativity presented all at once to perform an unheard & unseen of shot, ever!
Let alone the rest of the so many magnificent shots we've seen here: various plants of 2 or even 3 (!!!) Reds, and the swerves, the 'impossible' angles, the decisive long-shots, some of them closing his eyes before the shot, etc., and with it all added up, we would simply conclude that he was touched by some special enchanting Angel, and was walking on clouds to win this year WCS handed to him by Destiny itself, nonetheless.
I don't think it was ever a player playing like that, in all WSC History. Words can't describe it, and 'Luck' can't explain it, either.
He surely deserved it. Nobody gives Snooker a more pleasant and lighter mood, everytime, than Mark Williams. He always brings Snooker back to that friendly, relaxing at-the-club-with-dear-friends atmosphere it always had, before big money, Media and sponsorship obligations took some of its grace to replace it with a stiff seriousness.
My utmost love, respect and cheers to Mark Williams & all his Family, specially to Ms. Joanne Williams, who is such a blessing in his life that he should thank Life and Destiny for, everyday.
That was a fabulous Match - and, again, your fabulous compilation surely does justice to it. Maybe it deserves an extended version!
