LP has been my favorite band since 2001 when they released their first album Hybrid Theory, if you've heard In The End, thats Linkin Park, Chester unfortunately took his life in 2017, tomorrow is actually the 6 year anniversary of his death. If you want some songs to really hear what they could do; In The End, One Step Closer, A Place For My Head (Live In Texas version) Somewhere I Belong, Faint, From The Inside, Breaking The Habit, Given Up Bleed It Out, and What I've Done, just to name a few songs lol
Buuut i recommend to hear all of the songs in a live version. Nothing like linkin park live energy 🙌🏽
Chester might be the most talented voice I’ve ever heard
This is perhaps the most surprising of all of your reactions that I have seen up until this point. You are absolutely giddy with excitement watching and listening to Chester sing in his signature Cookie Monster style over some blisteringly heavy, gnarly guitar riffs. This band and song couldn't possibly be more different than what follows and was clearly recorded on the same day, Michael Jackson's "I'll Be There" from the Triumph tour. And yet your love for each is evident. I think this is your superpower. You have an infinitely open mind. Yet one more quality of yours that I admire and envy.
I particularly like how you highlight Chester's impressive rapid switch between Cookie Monster and traditional vocal styles. And also when you start to sing along and bang your head with Chester in his Cookie Monster style vocals at the very end. (9:34)
"I have heard a few screamers in my time." (11:39) This made me chuckle. The unintended double entendre.
I like this! "Cookie monster vocals" actually makes a lot of sense!
And yaaa I'm open to pretty much any type of music. But if you had told me i would be like this a few years ago i would have laughed, as i used to have a very shallow musical abattoir. If it had *words* in it then it was instantly skipped. Dance, trance and techno music were my favourites and just instrumentals from films and such. Even some classical music every now and then. But thats it really haha shallowwwwwwww

Yeah that is what nu metal all about, fusion of hiphop and metal. Nu metal was well known even before LP exist. But LP was the peak of nu metal and most popular and successful of its subgenre

He also had a different group called fort minor AND did an amazing album for Chester.

Anybody reacting to “QWERTY” gets my view. Thank you. And this song was never released on a studio album. You should check out some LP underground. These special albums were released only to their fan club members and tend to contain one off live versions of amazing performances. My life is missing a piece that was Chester Bennington. We will never get this again. R.I.P. Chester.

There is no rapping in the song Numb. Mike Shinoda (the one rapping) sang backup in the song numb while playing the piano in the music video.
Mike Shinoda is the rapper/ co-vocalist, keyboardist, co-rhythm guitarist, co-songwriter, graphic designer, and producer.
Joe Hahn is the DJ and music video director.
Rob Bourdon is the drummer.
Brad Delson is the lead guitarist and right hand man to Mike in the studio.
Dave (Phoenix) is the bass/ cello player.

Chester's children knew when they were in trouble and that Chester was home because they could hear their name being screamed from the other side of the house without an intercom system. Chester would be the one screaming their names to come and explain why they did what they did knowing they won't aloud to do something.

Cool to see your reacting to linkin park. The band has often cited Depeche Mode as a huge influence to their music. Chester as well has cited them as huge influences to his music many times. Many huge bands like Coldplay, Rammstein, Muse and The Killers have as well too.

I see that other's have recommended "Given Up" as another song with similar screaming, and I agree you might enjoy that a lot as well. My favourite performance of that song is this one:

It's not one of the versions where he holds a particularly long scream the longest, but I think it's his most emotionally intense performance of that song that I've seen.

Regarding Chester's singing, as far as I remember he was more or less self-taught, but I believe he later went on to have lessons to better care for his voice longterm. Someone correct me if I'm misremembering!
