Had no idea about “Maglam Lord’s” existence! Will have to check it out! (Btw, what originally attracted me to your channel years ago is that you were the only person I saw talking about “Eternal Poison”! One of my favorite games!)
This is the stuff I like. In every video I find at least 2 games I didn’t know about and I must have. I am not sure if I love that or hate it. I hate spending the money but love that I found a new game. Lmao.
Hey Eric Landon, I like your screenshot of the playstation signal next to JRPG screenshot its really cool. You should use it for all your hidden gem videos!
Love the Blue reflection games. Just bought the 2nd one today a few hours before watching this video since I also pre-ordered Atelier Sophie 2 today too, which isnt even having a PS5 release. Gust games are always a gem. Surprisingly I haven't played most of these yet even though I played at least 100 ps4 rpgs. A few I have and they are good picks like oninaki and witch and the hundred knight games.
i have been binging your videos for the past few days and i really have to thank you. i have discovered a lot of really interesting games that i would have never heard about if not for you.
Seeing Maglam Lord, I remembered Luminous Arc Infinity on Vita because the characters 3d modelling really looks like it. I wish Felistella would grab LA and release it translated on Switch or PS4
Gotta say, you've brought quite a few games to my attention. Some of which I will be trying to hunt down this weekend. Sadly I probably wont have time to actually play them all haha. But I did order Blue Refelction Second Light, Altelier Ryza 1 & 2, and Ys 8/9.
Wow super surprised to hear how rare and expensive the first Blue Reflection has gotten. I remember buying it maybe only a year or so ago and it was like $30 at gamestop. Such an awesome game!
Blue Reflection was still in my backlog for games I wanted to play. So now I'm stuck with a sealed copy of Blue Reflection that I'm afraid to open because of it's sudden value! Hopefully I'll find a used copy one day so I can still play it lol.
@@PhoenIXPhantasies I had a felling that this particular game would go up in price when I saw there was no demand for this game, and nobody was talking about it all after several months after launch. So decided to grab a copy of this game for only around 40$ brand new because I heard ost from it and felt in love with it. I actually never play the copy of the game yet even thought I open it already, just kind want to support the creator I guest since I downloaded the ost.
@@PhoenIXPhantasies I'm going to buy it. I don't see the price for digital going much lower than that. I recently got Blue Reflection 2 sealed physical for 40, and I know I won't get around to playing that anytime soon. I wonder if the same thing will happen, and it shoots up in value.
Nice video man. Most of those games are on my wishlist already, thanks for confirming they're good. Also, they can be bought for ok prices here in Europe, except for Blue Reflection 2. That one is expensive.
Since he mentioned Toukiden 1 and 2 are also on Vita... I must mention that at least on Vita Toukiden 2 ran quite bad in Frames and i do mean bad it did get on the way on some missions because of drops
Wow I somewhat knew that blue reflection 1 was rare since I never seen it cause I just bought a secondhand version at a store for like 35 dollars (PAL version so maybe that’s why) though the box was slightly damaged I can just replace the box with another one
BR Second Light isn't just a sequel to the first game, it's also a sequel to the anime from earlier last year. The continuity actually becomes more confusing the more you know about it though.
This video is his 3rd batch of hidden gems for just the ps4 console. This generation has some all time great entries to rival any generation of rpgs even the snes and ps1 era. Can’t judge the whole generation based on a scrape of the bottom of the barrel.
@@theflyingninja1 it’s not just his third but also the Hidden gems part. What console is deep enough to have great games at that point? Remove all renowned and well known games then give the 21-30th best games left over.
Its been almost ayear havent watch your channel, im most in tune to your videos interms of ps vita, i kept dreamin someday to have a ps4, Well this may 17 2022 i've just aquired ps4 finally its not a fantasy and i could watch your video topic games in ps4 ans to have an idea which game shoukd i play, i think gotta wait 5 years to have a ps5 though, but as of this moment i am happy ive just need to buy a tv first ao that i can play
I’m sorry that you’ve fallen into the hole of teir list and top tens. I hope to see more introspection of stories told in video games some day. Loved the passion you displayed in the old stuff.
Had no Idea that the first Blue Reflection was a rare find as I got it dirt cheap nearly a year after its release. Anyway while it was enjoyable, the sequel was overall much better.
Brigandine is never on sale in the psn store either. The physical collectors market price must be artificially inflating the digital versions cost. The demo was fantastic though and I don't even usually like monster collecting games.
When I see a game having dlc I feel like I should wait a generation and buy its definitive edition with the dlc included. So I am not sure if I should get blue reflection second light.
I'm currently playing the first Blue Reflection and I can say that it's a very slow moving game. But it has a lot of character development and interactions at a school. Some people that don't have a lot of patience would probably get really bored with it. But if you can handle that sort of thing go for it. Over all the monster art is very cool and to me that is where the game shines, but the game is not that challenging. You get to interact between the real world and the fantasy world. I'll leave it at that. It is a good game but not amazing. Is it worth it's price tag NO. I think people would enjoy Blue Reflection Second light better.
Ya, I been playing it off and on for a while now. Ya, I will admit it's very slow, but since I love a good story and character development it keeps me engage.
@@magnumopus8124 I think that's great that you enjoy it. I do too. I think that they improved a lot in the 2nd game. I wouldn't say the first Blue Reflection is for everyone.
Toukiden 2 is a really good game but the enemys are way too sponge even the good battle system does not help, I don't know if this is typical for Monster Hunter like games but it became really tedious after a while. I finished it but I had to force myself nearing the end.
They are sponges in this genre yes (the whole point of quests is to go kill said monster, so it'll be a long fight depending on gear and skill) but the problem with Toukiden is that your moves don't really feel chunky and the combat itself feels a more mashy. I'm a huge monster hunter fan because the combat is super satisfying, your weapons feel powerful and weighty so the impact on hits is perfect. But even more than the animations and sounds, the games are actually quite challenging too as monsters are no pushovers (though lately the games are easier). Toukiden felt floaty, spammy and easy in comparison so I didn't really get into it. And due to how little danger of actually losing there is, it gets really tedious when you feel you're just mashing buttons til the Oni dies.
I ve been following your channel for a long time, but I think your videos are getting boring, recycle contents. Don't get me wrong, I love your works, and I want you to show us more games, games that you haven't talked before.

Ys games are amazing. I envy you for getting to play em for the first time. Imo the best ones are 8 and Origin, but 9 is great as well

Lucky guys !! In my country it's impossible to get that kind of hidden gems , even on digital format
Landom, I’m a fan of your channel, and obviously rpgs, can you make a nintendo switch version of hidden gems?

The first Blue Reflection is on Vita as well, with copied assets from the ENglish release PS4 release.
Great video, added a lot to wish list.
How come its a hidden gem when its just been out today 🤣🤣
The majority of these are not PS4 exclusive. In fact aside from the Toukiden games, I think Metal Max Xeno might be the only other one.

SaGa scarlet Grace ambition will get a physical release on Asia with English support
All of my favorite JRPG channels are shilling Maglam Lord today, holy crap.
Should i wait for the remake or play whats available now for metal max
Several of the games you coverered are on my wishlist, but now I have to strike them off, because of their sheer brightness.
