That Sony Experia was a device I wanted but didn't ultimately get, I may have been with the original Motorola Droid at the time. Now, rocking a Pixel 8 Pro and dolphin emulator, I'm impressed I can plug in a USB adapter and GameCube Wavebird and really live out the best of that era.
This is is so cool. Playing emulators on a foldable is next level.
As a lifelong fan of emulation, I love that you tackled this topic. how about a video on the best emulators for each console? And maybe one for emulation on Chromebooks too?

I use either my Pixel Fold or Surface Duo 2 for DS emulation and Z Fold5 for emulating all other consoles. The Duo 2 also works great for that and watching UA-cam or having a guide to follow along on the other screen. The issue is storage since 256 GB fills up very quickly with enough PS2 ROMs.

I actually use a dedicated device for emulation, i got a retroid pocket 3+ a while ago. It is a bit of a chore to set up all the emulators and games, but it is definitely worth it. I can now play all my favorite games for NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, PS1, PSP, Dreamcast and more. I highly recommend looking into those dedicated android (or also linux) based emulation devices.
Of course DS emulation is a bit of a compromise because i only have one screen, but it still works.
For anyone waiting DS style, check out Mishaal Rahman's talking about the GameSir. The USB-C port in it is on the left, so a foldable phone in it opens UP, instead of opening Down with the Backbone.

Controllers really should have the usb-c to the left so that foldables can fold upward connected to them
also picking up a used Surface Duo 1 for under $300 online is perfect for 3DS emulation. You can even get better aspect ratio stretching and performance using the Citra MMJ app.

Uhh as a forever pokemon fan this is embarrassing for Nintendo when you consider they have yet to release the retro Pokemon games on Nintendo online.
