Being married and a father in the military, this song hits me right in the feels. I never know when I am going to have to leave them for months on end for whatever they have me doing. And it's not like I know I will always come back to them when it is all said and down. To have to be so far away for any given time is difficult. And I couldn't do it without my wife being as strong as she is.

I know deployments can be long and when the shit hits the fan, you think if this is going to be it, will you be able to look at your family one more time and tell them that you love them. You just have to keep them with you always, because they are going to be the reason that you will make it to be able to go home and tell them how much you love them. This song was me and my wife's song during our deployment in afghanistan. She was in bagram and I was in kandahar every night before bed we would give each other a call and listen to this song together. It brings a lot of different memories to mind both good and bad but as I look back I see that we grew stronger together as a couple throughout the deployment. The day we reunited we listened to it and slow danced under the stars. Its a very true song that captures the emotions of separation of those in love. Not to mention the music is beautiful.

I moved to a new city a little over a year ago. I left behind all that I knew, all of my friends, family, memories... this song makes me cry every time because I did leave my heart at home. My friends at home don't talk to me anymore, and they seemed to have moved on, and I have made no new friends still, but I am thankful for the wonderful time I had with my friends a year ago. I do feel alone, everyday at school, but these bands are what's keeping me going. It might be tough now, but it'll get better. Love you guys, and thanks for being a fandom that's always there when I need it.

I feel so much more emotion in this version, its honestly heartbreakingly beautiful. you can feel the pain of his struggle of being so far away from home for months at a time and he is torn because he wants to be there for the people he loves but he also loves his fans and needs to be there for them as well and its just.... ugh it makes me so emotional...

I feel like this song is dedicated to everyone that can't be with their families every day because of their work. For those who works in a another city, state or even a different country than the one they live in. For those who can't sit around a table and eat dinner every night with their families because they work to far away. For those who have to leave their families every now and then and can't be with them for a couple weeks, months or years because of their work.
For example artists, actors, actresses, servicemen etc. because of their work they can't be with their loved ones, their families, every day. They can't be there watch their children grow up.
We don't understand how hard it is to leave your families for a long time because of your work until you have to do it yourself.
They don't work with those things just for themselves. They do it for us, for their fans, for their families, for our lives.
I think that we should appreciate them a lot more because of the things they sacrifice for their families, friends and for all the people they don't even know (us).
To them I just want to say 'Thank you so much for all the things you do for us and I love you for that.'

I think part of my soul would die because like I CANT MOSH IN FRONT OF A STUDENT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CROWD SURF OVER SOME KID THAT I KNOW LIKE STRUGGLES WITH MATH BUT IS AWESOME AT ENGLISH OR WHATEVER?????? And oh god think about the next day in class! That would be so so so awkward. oh my god. The possibility of this happening is actual really terrifying for me... and like what about the student! They go home and be like "Mom! Guess who I saw tonight?! Ms._____!!!!" and then come parent teacher interviews it would be so awkward and oh my god. (I'm really sorry, I know this is completely off topic but the thought formed in my mind at the mention of age and i started typing and couldn't stop.)
This captures all of the feelings you go through during a deployment or, in their case, being on tour for months without your spouse. Hardest thing you'll ever have to do is not only say goodbye to your wife but your babies and not know if you'll make it back alive. I love MMF and SWS. Great song as usual.
