  • It can be difficult deciding between wheels. I compare these two popular performance suspension electric unicycles by Leaperkim. The older 2022 release Veteran Sherman S compared to the 2024 released Lynx.

    Adjustable jumpads are included with the Lynx but ZERO seats or powerpads. the Sherman S at least had a token set of each!
    Cheers and enjoy whichever wheel you have, they're all a fun time!

      ewheels gives you a seat and power pads with it. I havent changed my power pads and they works great for me... I dont know how you own only one wheel as I always need top have a 2nd & i do have 3 wheels all 126v or higher .. But I may sell either the s22 which is imo so under-rated (even when coming from my lynx the s22 firmware is just so nice for instant respone where the lynx may take one tenth a sec the s22 like reads you mind but the torque is less and speed but I dont go over 40 mph (not kmph) at my size 6'4" 270lbs .. & I have my fav 3600 ex-30 that i think I will keep but I need 2 as I would go through wheel withdraw if I only have one & i have to fix something and do not have it for a few days... lol Cheers and have a blast with the lynx as it is a great wheel & overall my fav awheel that can do all terrain (offroad & road)
      Cheers

      @@revolutionaries007 I totally share your opinion on the S22 (which I own), the ride feel is unbeatable, even compared with the Lynx. It just cannot match with the power of the Lynx.
      I bought a seat with my new Lynx, but realized I don't really need it as the flat top is good enough for seated riding (maybe I'll just put some baby foam).

    I had both like you, and agree that sheman s was no slouch in power, but like you mentioned, you have to ask a bit harder for that power on SS than on the lynx. Nice comparison man

    Thanks for another great review on these two wheels, i was wondering about the lynx, but now after this review i think i'll just stick with my
    SS as i HATE! HATE!! HATE!!! range anxiety and with the SS i NEVER have to think about it even going at sustain high speeds. Now with close to
    7k miles i have gotten use to the weight so that its not noticeable unless i get on another lighter wheel. THANKS AGAIN GREAT JOB Sir 😊

    i saw your video comparing all the different aftermarket pedals on the sherman S. I see here that you seemed to revert back to the one that comes with the wheel. Are aftermarket pedals worth it in your opinion or should i just stick to the originals? I have a lynx and I'm considering if I need aftermarket pedals (looking at the nylonove and the erides pedals). Main gripe being that the lynx pedals seem very light and made of the same light magnisium alloy, and I find the grip decent?

    • @jonoeuc
      @jonoeuc  3 місяці тому

      Hi Brian, I sold off the Sherman S NyloNove pedals separately because they didn't add value to the resale. The stock pedals aren't nearly as nice but with the studs the grip is great.
      If I had the $$ to blow I'd get the NyloNove but they're pricey.
      Since you're finding the grip sufficient I wouldn't bother unless:
      1) you suffer from foot fatigue. The slight flex in the NyloNove will help a LITTLE bit!
      2) Angle adjustable pedals (dihedral adjustment) is needed for some reason.
      Hope that helps

    Are you planning to swap the tire on your Lynx?
    I've personally mounted a Michelin Pilot Street 80/90, and also ordered a pair of lower pedal hangers.

    • @jonoeuc
      @jonoeuc  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, the K262 has caused two crashes recently. I'll be putting on the Michelin Pilot Street 2 tubeless soon. Although I want to try the Pirelli Diablo.
      Offroad capabilities are so much fun though... Just need a stickier rubber so perhaps a soft trials tyre after the michelin.
      I've only heard good things about the pedal hangers (besides some pedal scraping), enjoy!

    Charge ports in back is a little odd, NGL, while my lynx is turned on upright, I plug the charger in. This will turn off the wheel and it will begin charging. This makes my charging ritual a bit easier with that hack.

    What suspension weight do you have on the lynx?

      66lbs Lynx (too stiff) and 62lbs in the Sherman S (perfect)

    My OG Veteran Sherman won’t automatically stop charging when it hits 100% and when I look at the voltage it goes beyond 100.8 Volts
    The battery says 100%
    Ant the voltage says 101.2 Volts

    • @jonoeuc
      @jonoeuc  4 дні тому +1

      not good. There is a tiny blue potentiameter inside the charger. turn it anti clockwise 1/2 turn and then test the output with a multimeter until it outputs 100.8v.
      Alternatively get a Pidzoom charge inhancer which controls the charger output and cuts off at the correct (user set) voltage. I'm reviewing the CE200 currently and am happy with it thus I'm affiliating with them. code 'jono'

    Lynx has suspension issues, the rods seize up from dirt and moisture, wheel turns into non-suspension wheel, complete disassembly and lubrication required.

    • @jonoeuc
      @jonoeuc  4 дні тому

      Did that happen to you? First time hearing of that issue.
      I've been in very muddy offroad tracks and it's been great so far. The teardown showed little wear on the Lynx suspension after 2000km.
