I can tell you have done this a few times. Got to the point, didn’t waste a lot of time like some do. Thank you for a great presentation.

Man, this video is three years old but it helped me fix my machine and get it back up and running perfectly without having to take it in to get it fixed only to pay some crazy fee for parts and labor. Thanks a million, it's very much appreciated! Have a fantastic day!

Thank you! Your video instructions were extremely helpful. Your suggestion of pulling the carb partly out to disengage the governor wire and the the speed control rod was brilliant. Made life so much easy .
In my case, everything was clean and shiny except the pin in the float valve and the fuel port under it was totally gunked up, the pin end had become black and was visibly sticking. I cleaned the pointy end of the pin (gently) and the fuel orifice on which it sits, and reassembled the carb. It fired up on the first pull.
    Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I attempted to clean it pre-watch, but it still failed to start. After watching your video and seeing a few other places to clean (including with the hidden idle valve), my 2nd attempt succeeded!

Great video. Super helpful. I've got the same model and right now I'm dealing with low pressure. I've replaced the pump (new/same brand) and changed out the nozzles and it's as if the motor is turned off. Water sprays at low pressure and the pump won't activate. Any ideas?

Great tutorial thank you. For the air box mine only had the two bottom nuts. None in the box. In your video at 2:39 on your second "this one here" I'm not seeing where the carb cleaner exits. Mostly just shooting back. Where does that flow to? Not running as of yet. It isn't getting gas. Starting fluid will work. Scratch the question. It is running. I watched your other generac video where you say cleaner should shoot straight through the main injector. I took the needle out of the main and found it clogged. She runs! Thank you!.

Hello there 😎. Very valuable video, thank you so much. I did clean the carburator, I've installed a new fuel tank and a spark plug too BUT it doesn't want to start up, please, what should I check next or any suggestions? Thanks again.

an engine needs 3 things to run. spark compression and fuel. fuel is 2 components. air and in this case gas. i spray carb cleaner in the carb air filter off. pull many times. if it fires its a fuel issue. if not now you need a spark tester. amzn.to/3k6Gdh6 . if it has spark and fuel then it is going to be a compression issue. no spark check oil. there is usualy an oil sensor it is a single wire usually yellow going into the side of the engine. unplug it try again. still no spark its a bad coil. compression issue could be a valve issue. this requires a mechanic. if you are a mechanic the valve clearance is 7 on the intake 11 on the exhaust. sometimes the plug is wet from the carb leaking before. rinse plug with carb cleaner reinstall try again you may have to repeat multiple times.

@@smallengineguys Thanks for the advice. I forgot to mention that I'd drained the OLD oil and I've added 16 oz of NEW oil (SAE 30). I'd tried already clean up the spark plug before your recommendation (now I'll do it with confidence). I'd check (look) for a spark and it's good; I also checked the yellow wire for the oil and it's good too. I'd use the carburator cleaner with the filter off too and the machine fired up for 2 second and it stopped, I'd kept pulling but I did get tired, LOL, with not success after 8 times. I did use FRESH gasoline too.. I'll let it settled a few days, anything else that I should try? Thanks. P.S.: I'm not a mechanic at all 😎

@@Canoabo1 you gotta do your carb again. Its lean. Jet is clogged. Use my acid or buy new carb.

I an NOT mechanically inclined, but have the same problem with Generac 2.7 gpm 3100 psi washer. It starts for 2 seconds and dies off. Then nothing happens for the next pulls (my arm starts to hurt). I wait for 30 min, give it a pull and it coughs for 2 secs at the first pull, then nothing. When I changed oil and spark plug, the oil came out was contaminated with gas (contents of oil chamber were under pressure and was over flowing). I will follow the carb cleaning steps (very nicely explained, Thank You).
What acid should I use for cleaning needle valve?
      I will keep

Try to adjust valves, if they loose, they not going to make compression and start engine. There are videos on how to do that.

Thank you for your video. I found it very useful. I am trying to clean the idle circuit of the carburetor of a Generac pressure washer with a 173 cc engine. I could not remove the carburetor from the engine (I do not know how to disconnect the throttle arm), so I am just trying to clean as much as I can from the carburetor in place. I sprayed the idle circuit (that you discussed at 3:00) with carburetor cleaner but I still cannot see the light through the hole. Did you use a wire to clean it? I tried a wire from a twist tie for bread wrapper but the wire does not go through.

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  2 роки тому

idle circuit wont stop it from running. it will surge if its dirty. i use acid and carb or brake cleaner. you wont see light its a t. bread wrapper wire is to thick.

@@smallengineguys well, I git the carburetor off, cleaned it , put it back together, still starting. I can add a few drops of sea form directly in the carburetor, it turns over then dies. Line to the tank is open and clean. May have to get a new carburetor. Your video is very helpful.

the 212 predator is 3/4 shaft just like this one. or you can sometimes find a nice 5.5 honda used but in new condition for the same price. but long story short the 212 predator is the same motor all together. its a copy of this generac pretty much
