I always machine new dampner rod piston rings -most of the kyb, showa parts are no longer available-and alwayas replace the springs on the old 70's/80's bikes

If damping rod is extended with cap for 2cm what about oil level? Shall be increased for 2cm too?
I think should remain like before, otherwise will limit travel for 1~2cm(¿)

I need a tool to remove my damping rod. I have a MT07 do you happen to know where I can get one?

If I know Yamaha, and yes I realise this comment is a year old, it'll probably be about four feet worth of 1/2" socket extension.

@@Cheezeball99999I just put spring back into it. Then compressed it to put pressure on the rod. Did it on carpet for better traction. Also needed to heat up the bottom screw as it must have had thread lock.

Hi sir, I need a suggestion, if I change my damper rod with a bigger one and wholes r same like the stock one, will it increase the hight of the overall suspension as well as the travel? Or if I change the bigger spring with the stock one do the same?

Yes, if you extend damping rod for 2cm then teavel and overal height will increase for 2cm. Also head sterring angle will increase for ~1° and wheelbase will increase for ~1cm.
