If you leave your top cap on to maintain some spring pressure, you can usually get the bottom Allen bolt out with an impact gun. Primitive, but it works.
Right now on my channel I’m restoring an 82 KDX 450 and the forks are VERY similar to these. I see your forks have the chrome sticker on it. Is it legible by any chance? I’d love to get one made to replace mine. Mine has no ink left 😅
I don't have a manual and can't seem to find online the correct quantity. I'm pretty sure on 80s bikes it was anywhere from 4 to 600 mL of oil per leg. More like 400-500 as the 81/2 were slimmer than later models
