Do you have a red flag on roof indicating you are there? You know, so the plows can see you since your van is white

I have 5’ red poles that I would consider using in this situation. This time I spoke to the plow operator and he said don’t bother. He knew I’d be there that night
I remember what happened to Chad. His last car before the van. The snow plough hit his car and destroyed it. There might be other plow drivers on the road. Also , other people could feel the same as you about the snow and want an adventure. It is better to be a little cautious and safer. You have many, many happy years traveling to go.
Normal ppl would think it’s crazy to want to go van camping in snow storm but heck break out the skis or snow board and enjoy it . Pull out some drinks and enjoy some peace and quiet and wait til morning and see just how much u spend digging your self out . Haha sign me up
Lots of fun. When I was young, I used to snow mobile in 7 feet of snow break trail with an elan snowmobile and use also an Artic track. Both had a wide wheel base.
Just to do 20-mile runs into lakes to go ice fishing from 6 a.m. to around 5p.m. locations varied. No tent. The ice was so thick. 4 feet at times. We just bundled up with layers of clothing. I just loved the crunch of the snow and the wonderful silence miles away from civilization.
In a world seemingly full of negativity and phonies, it’s nice to just hang out with a genuinely nice person. Thanks for making this content, it’s a much needed bit of positivity.

I don’t like getting cold anymore but I sure do think that winter is the most beautiful season of all. I grew up where it snowed and as a kid could spend endless hours in it but age has a way of changing that to watching it from the window or UA-cam. Enjoying your winter videos and love your van set up. I like the lighting and its so clean.

I live in MA, and once we got 5 feet of snow. I opened my front door to the porch and literally had to start shoveling because I couldn't get outside. Shoveled down the stairs, path to my car and all around my car with room. I had 2 sweatshirts, a stocking hat and gloves...it took 4 hours. I was sweating and freezing when I came in. Then for the last 3-4 years now...only some flurries. Not even enough to shovel. Go figure. They say we are supposed to get a lot of snow this winter but they said that last year and 1 day. When I saw him shoveling all that snow, that's all I could think about, lol.
Ive lived in the south my entire life. I have mixed feelings watching this. Claustrophobia, anxiety, wonder., admiration

So appreciate ur adventures in the snow! I lived off grid at 4000 ft in Eastern Wa n LOVED MY DIG OUTS! Well, not necessarily LOVED them but to me there's NOTHING better to make u feel ALIVE than to battle Mother Nature n Win 👍💯 it's a true accomplishment to say the least my friend! EXCELLENT! and yes, I'd a put my chains on the night before, BUT!? U DID IT! ❤️ Happy Trails n look forward to "our" next snowbound adventure! 🔥

I was on the way to building out a Chevyvan 1-ton when covid came along, then life went sideways too soon. Needed two maybe three years of the job i was at to convert to 4wd and new big block drivetrain. Yukon just got new motor, chasing down disturbances. That was getting final once over when the van just quit. Dunno, timing chain most likely broke the cam. No money to do another motor. Sold it to the wrecking yard. Project over.
I always loved it, being ina snowstorm, inside a warm vehicle, off call taxi, parked semi, just watching snow blow. Got buried in my semi over the hood all warm and cozy, still running, plenty food water power and plastic bags to place waste outside the window while watching TV and PlayStation, bs on the cb... LOL GREAT time.
I have seen thousands of van builds over the last 4-5 years and this one takes it for me. LOVE the content, keep it up brother.

Caught in storm, Last winter i had to spend night in my Skoda octavia in -15 snow storm in India, luckily morning was clear.
While here in Toronto its a common thing.

Back in my van days a five gallon bucket was a toilet and when the top was on it it was a chair for guests. 👍

I really love winter and I wish I got to experience really deep snow, I want to go to Alaska one day during the winter where their "mild snowfall" is more than I've seen in my life back at home

you have no idea how dangerous this was.
When you chopped up the onions it looked like you only used half. Cut the onion straight down the middle so that both halves have the roots still attached. Then just wrap the half you’re not gonna use and put it back in the fridge. It’ll last longer. Also, for you people that tear up when cutting an onion, after you cut it in half just run it real quick under cold water. Then you can cut it up without crying.

Oh, also a word from experience - when a major snow storm is coming, it helps to put the chains on before going to sleep. A couple of years ago, near Alpine Lake, CA, the truck got buried not only by new snow but by the plow that pushed 4’ of snow against it. Digging out was hard, even harder because we didn’t have the chains on to help. Live and learn. Great adventure and video. Thx.

When there is a lot of snow forecast, I use this trick, I put a flower cellophane film in a single sheet for all the windows in the cabin. If the camper is expected to be submerged, I also put cellophane on the bonnet attachment with the radiator grill, and I cover the air intakes at the base of the windshield, to improve the insulation of the engine. Finally I put two strips of cellophane on the ground next to the tires and in the morning I remove them to break up the snow that is on them. when I leave I will roll up all the films and reuse them when necessary. The cellophane prevents the glass from freezing and keeps the ground underneath warm.

Hey… so..I’m a fellow transitarian here. I swear the last video I watched of you camping in the snow this same exact van was RWD and you had to put chains on to get out of the parking lot!! Now it has an AWD badge on the back. Am I missing something here? Or just another glitch in the matrix..

That is the coolest van I've ever seen. I love this video. You're amazing.
You should take a snowblower with you on adventures like this. When you get there for the night, just strap 'er on the roof, and have a ladder with it. When the morning snow is done, just drop 'er off the roof into the snow and start going from there. You can throw snow forty feet and not have to break a sweat.

If you are going to be in heavy snow fall areas, you need a regular snow shovel. The pooper scooper you have is why it took so long to shovel out your van. You could have done it with a regular show shovel in less than an hour.
I was absolutely amazed that you were able to get that van out of such deep snow so easily. Yes, I know you did a lot of shoveling but even so, I was wondering if you would have to have someone come and pull you out. You didn't. Good job! If I woke up and saw this much snow all around a vehicle of mine I think I would probably have heart failure so the fact that you took it like just a minor inconvenience was amazing. I live in Nashville and we sometimes go an entire winter and don't have any snow at all and it probably would take us accumulation from about 20 years to get this much snow.

crazy how Seirra's are having the biggest snow on record and over here on the east coast we are having the least amount of snow ever. Typically we get around 30 inches by now. There has been a total of 1/2 an inch.
Here in NE Pa. We’ve only had about 8” total all in December. Well below norm and actually this year I don’t mind. They are calling for snow Wednesday approx 3-5”, but right now zero on the ground.
For the chains, next time you buy, I'd suggest spending a bit more and springing for the all chain construction. The ones with the cable sides always break in pretty short order. I inherited my mom's 23 year old vehicle. Had the same set of chains all these years and have had countless uses with zero issues.
They're a little spendy, and tough to come by but WELL worth the investment if you do a lot of snow driving imo.

Yup... accidentally came across tent camping in the snow, just A FEW DAYS AGO-- then VAN CAMPING IN BLIZZARDS and I am hooked, all just within a week, and bar none-- YOU are my favorite. One video had his doggie with him and that interaction was cool. You, skiing is so fun to watch-- I appreciate how you caringly take us along, maybe even at your own expense -- during the skiing.
