It is quite remarkable how many You Tube videos precisely follow the Winter Experience formula. Invariably it involves a camper/trailer/tent/cabin setting, soothing music, drone footage, meal preparation, cutting firewood…and, of course, snow that does not appear to have been touched by anyone else. There’s nothing quite like lounging in a warm, comfortable room, watching someone else freeze his or her ass off.
You got the formula for a successful UA-cam video despite the fact that your subtle remark went over the heads of almost everyone commenting and liking here. I spent the winter of 2009/10 here in a caravan that only had low wattage electricity and if I tried to plug in more than one fan heater, it blew all the fuses. I ended up with every blanket I owned on me and another blocking out the drafts of the doorway - Oh how I would have been grateful for a Wood Burning Stove which my caravan now has and what a difference it is, you can survive well and cook upon it, put roasts inside of it in foil or not. I'd laugh at Minus 30 degrees Celsius in such a situation as long as you have enough firewood.
@@RobertsBulgaria Another thing I am increasingly convinced of is that these Winter Experience vids are often barely more than day trips, organized to get just enough footage. Then the person goes home to a comfortable apartment or house and edits the video. There’s much of a cell signal in remote areas for uploading a big You Tube file.
@@thardyryll 😁 Of course they do. I only have to click on my Subscriptions to see numerous, 'Overnight SOLO in Winter conditions' which in the UK means Minus 1-4 and of course, they're hot tenting, waddling in with all of the expensive equipment from their nearby parked 4x4's that they mostly don't know how to drive correctly and wham, 50k views. It is what it is, but some of the Thumbnails make me laugh. I would love to post one such as, 'Overnight in Oymyakon at Minus 51 C. without a tent or sleeping bag, watch me freeze to death'. 🤦😉🤷
What cracks me up are the we have to watch them hike past the camera like it magically got there itself. I don’t care about the artsy fartsy views or watching you walk past the camera and ignore it. Just let’s see the camping.
It made me smile when you used the back of your hatchet to clear snow from that log... preserving the blade... but was surprised when you used the sharp edge of your knife to scrape food from your cutting board... dulling the blade. 5:38 💖🌞🌵😷
Your video brings back memories. In 1971, our cabin in the Adirondack Mountains in NYS collapsed under the snow load. The property owner refused to renew our lease. We hunted that year on nearby state forest land in a tent camper owned by one of the club members. We used a propane apartment heater, unvented but were afraid to leave it running at night. It got down to 20 below zero F. My boots froze to the floor as did our water. The next year we bought an Apache pop up trailer with propane furnace. It too was pretty cold because we tried to conserve the gas for a week of hunting. All the heat would get sucked out when we opened the door. Hard to dry out wool hunting clothes and without insulation, moisture from condensation was an issue. A wood stove would have been better but there was no room for it.
I like that you don’t try to mess around with how you start your fire I see a lot of people try to do too much when they have the ability to make it simple and just enjoy camping
I have a 20ft travel trailer that had been more or less gutted on my property that I stay in most of the time since my farm animals are there. No skirting, no extra insulation, just a camp stove and the windows covered and the door at night has a thick curtain down on it. If it gets down to the negatives then I just get up every 3 hours to stoke the fire and it tends to be around 40 to 50 in those Temps. I do have a house in town but honestly I enjoy being on the property a heck of a lot more.
thanks love watching videos like this, snowing and storms beautiful recording , awesome idea the steak garlic and cheese , the little birdies thanks God Bless Continue adventuring

You are the first person I have ever seen but a wood stove in a travel trailer I've always wanted to do that I've always believed that you could do that efficiently thank you for sharing
What a great set-up, really awesome park too. Will have to give it go with my son. Trailer is awesome and I was really impressed by your bike. Going to have to see your other videos. Greetings from Stittsville.

It's good to know that snow camping is available. Early on in my research and search for snow camping, I couldn't find anything concrete and reliable. But seeing this tells me not to give up yet cause I will eventually find it.
Hello. Very creative, and again. The natural scenery is very beautiful, it makes life more vivid. May God give us all peace, wow.I love meditation, very nice and engaging. Wish you always cheerful and happy.

Beautiful!! This may sound strange but I don't like snow except when you get to play in it! Growing up in Illinois we used to have heavy snow just like in your video. As the years went by it it seemed to not be that way just nasty old dirty snow nothing you could play in. No X-country skiing, sledding, snowmobiling or camping, some ice skating but that was it. Many of my farmer friends would load their sled machines on a semi and trailer them to northern Wisconsin or sometimes out west..Ohhh...longing for the good ole days! Look forward to your next trip Eddie is taking good care of you.
I agree. I also grew up illinois and we would snowmobile here then the last 10-15 years we would follow the snow. But lived everywhere and i love it all. From the t-shirt winters in Texas to the mountain peaks in Montana. Nature is beautiful.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year . Loved your build and recap of the costs. Whilst not a low cost option I guess much less than a purchased camper and one you can take pride in having done it yourself. Great little camper looking to see how you fit out the shower.
