    Couldn’t agree more. Bought one of these a few years ago to take family out. As long as you look after these (ie dry them before packing/don’t over inflate) they give you zero issues.

    Got one of these last week, they're great. We live in Bangkok and it's very stable on the canals, even when we get passed by long tail boats.

    Great review! I have just bought this boat...me and my wife have enjoyed the whole day padling in Paranoa lake (Brasilia, Brazil). One important point to mention is that the drying process after paddling is not so straightforward without space (my situation living in apartment). I realized that that taking the floats out and using a towel has made the process much quicker.

    I've got the Itiwit 2 and use 'H2o Kayaks Wave Asymmetrical Kayak Paddle 230 cm' with it which only costs around the £30 mark and is good value for money.

  • @jaspurr6173
    @jaspurr6173 Рік тому +1

    Well I finally went out fishing in my new Kayak, the only problem was the Paddle that I already own is 230cm and too short. I found that I was having to lean-in left & right to get a decent paddling depth. I ordered a 240cm Paddle, hopefully this will be better. This Kayak is ‘very’ wide so you ‘need’ a long Paddle.

    Love your videos so much, they've really helped shape my decision to purchase an inflatable from Decathlon (just opened in my city) for the summer. I"m likely getting the itiwit 100+ to enjoy with friends, though I also eventually see myself with an itiwit x500 in the near future. Have you found the drop stitch material to crease or deform over time?

    • @StevieWyatt
      @StevieWyatt  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much. I've owned the X500 drop-stitch for a year now and haven't noticed any degradation of the materials or anything. These are very solid boats made with quality materials, similar to those RHIB type boats. I think if you keep them clean and look after them they'll last years

    Hi Steve
    Thank you for another enjoyable and informative video
    I bought one of these kayaks early last year and agree they are a fantastic bit of kit and have enjoyed exploring the Norfolk Broads near where I live (I'd be happy to show you around if you are in this neck of the woods)
    My only complaint would be the availability of spares
    When I bought this all the spares were available online for delivery or click and collect
    Now almost nothing is available online and you are asked to contact your nearest store which is almost 100 miles away from me
    Thankfully everything is working fine at the moment
    I did enquire at a store was told spares would need to be ordered and collected from there so obviously not very convenient for me
    Are you able to find any information from Decathlon and will they make spares more easily available
    Best wishes
    Julian

    Hi , you never said anything about drying the boat Ie taking out the bladders and drying them which I found very long winded also they are very hard to keep clean. I had one of these and I was glad to sell it on I then got a Bluewave Glider Drop stich which is double the price but a lot better. As you said the paddle you showed is very good al so the pump, the skeg are very good for the river I have got one for my Glid
    er. Good video

    Thank you for the review, Stevie. You make it really difficult for me to decide between the 100 and the X100 😄, they both seem to be way good enough for me. I'm a beginner, I guess I'll start with the 100...

    • @anhonestreviewer7015
      @anhonestreviewer7015 2 роки тому +2

      Go for the x100. The 100 is a pain to clean due to the fabric that takes time to dry - sometimes a couple of days depending on the weather. I've owned both, sold the 100 as it used to get mouldy, and went for the x100 for peace of mind.

    • @TheLensSchwendi
      @TheLensSchwendi 2 роки тому +1

      @@anhonestreviewer7015 thank you Jay, I appreciate! Unfortunately, I meanwhile have the 100 and yes, it's a pain to dry. But that's a good reason to buy a new x100 after a while 😃. And beside the drying issue, I'm happy with it. We are in Alaska later this year and there is only the 100 available, so it was good for us to get used to the 100 at home. But again, thanks for your advice 🤠👍

    What about drying the cloth material after? How long does that take? Do you have to take it all apart to dry? All inflatables are easy to pump up and deflate but it's the drying out part I want to know about.

    • @StevieWyatt
      @StevieWyatt  2 роки тому +2

      This is a good point I talk about further in my 100 vs X100 video. Since I've been trialing this boat it's either been hot and sunny, or I've only been out for short trips so I haven't got the entire boat soaked. The bottom can just be towel dried. The top is a bit more tricky if it got drenched - I have heard from some owners they take off the whole cover and dry it that way. I guess it depends what kind of boating you expect to do, and what conditions and weather you're likely to encounter

      You'd be fine with 100. The main point of X100 is that because of the drop stich floor and pontoon materials it takes more pressure so it is more sturdy. it is also sleeker and therefore faster (you can do decent distances in it) if you buy for occasional use or it is your first boat you do well with 100.

    Hi. Has this boat got a pretty solid base? Eg like a paddle board base? I have a bad knee so need something quite solid to stand on go get in and out of but prefer an inflatable to a ridged for transportation. Thanks

    • @StevieWyatt
      @StevieWyatt  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Caz, this boat is pretty sturdy, it's not "floppy" like some of the cheaper PVC inflatables. But you should consider a drop-stitch boat like the Itiwit X100. It has a much stiffer floor, like a stand up paddle board. I've done a review video of them and also a comparison video with the boat featured here

    Your other reviews are excellent and feel honest but this one feels a bit light and slightly glossing over potential problems - you don't show getting in/out of the boat in the water, standing/kneeling in it in the water, how it handles in wind, how "floppy" it is in the water (especially when fully loaded), and only a few seconds of it in use. Is that because it's not so great and you don't want to offend Decathlon?

    • @StevieWyatt
      @StevieWyatt  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks Jim, that's good feedback. I certainly aren't worried about offending Decathlon, I have quite a candid relationship with them and they don't mind me picking holes or pointing out faults. I guess I just overlooked the entry and exit thing when I was making this. I suppose there wasn't anything unusual to report. Even though it's a low pressure boat it still feels remarkable stiff when on the water. I'm thinking of doing a comparison video of this with one of the Intex boats so I'll cover the points you raised in that. Cheers, S

    • @StevieWyatt
      @StevieWyatt  11 місяців тому +1

      You'll have a better time on the water with this than the K2, which is much more vulnerable to wind. I think this will last longer too. For quicker drying, you can take take the skin off and hand it on a line, I've heard this is the best way to do it

      Design issue with these in my opinion. They are excessively tight when fitting. If you’re getting sand anywhere near them they’re impossible to remove by hand. We’ve taken to pouring water over them (to rinse any grit away) then using a small flat rock to tap them out.
