i suppose the list is so open you can have a roster with 5 flamers, 5 swords, 5 bolters and still have 5 custode options to pick from, especially since you'll generally only be using 2

We all know what can be done with Hive Fleet, but nobody is taking about the Compendium Imperial Guard options. How about a revisit there? Especially comparing the Compendium Scions to the Bespoke Kasrkin...
Great video. I´m currently painting my talons. Looking forward to playing them. I had good succes with Grey Knights. Easy to use, especially in tournaments, in the late games, where people suffer from mental overload.
When i first heard about kill team, i had just finished my 2000pts of custodes so i got a kill team together a beat up my friends in our first games 😂 love the banana boys!
My one and only tournament game ive played was against Talons using the 2/5 split, I was playing intercession with all assault ints and dueller and aggressive tactics. Iirc custodes had spears and sisters all had bolters, it was on open board. It turns out 4/5 rending chainswords with shield parry makes surprisingly short work of even custodes. I would avoid getting shot by just staying engaged where I could, obscured or concealed where I couldn't it was a good game. I won, and i didn't even feel bad about making a 12 year old cry. I gave him some friendly game advice like "suck it up or the other tables will make fun of you" and "custodes are a good team, you're just bad. But the good news is that you can probably improve"
Also tilting shields really helped neuter his custodes in melee, probably helped more than a purity seal would have. Tilting shield basically removes lethal x+ or rending.
@@CanYouRollaCrit probably true, I feel like after turn 1 it would just be a boring fight to see who can parry the most, while the 2 intercessors that aren't engaged run around and do points.
I've been playing hive fleet a lot, but honestly custodes are on a whole other level still, they are also super good on itd, specially because warriors are huge hp low save, which is not much of a downside when they're mostly on melee.
I think it's not just a matter of their own stats, but rather, that as a compendium team, they are rather ignored when it comes to the creation of bespoke ones, resulting in that there are no teams that have an intentionally bad matchup against, leaving Anti-Elite to being able to take down Intercessors rather than these guys.
I still think they should make a bespoke 5 man Talons team that is three Custodes and two sisters of silence. They would still be the smallest team to fit their super elite thing they have going on, but would still be strong enough to win games. Then just give the leader Custode 4 apl, but if you really want elite teams to never be less than six, you could go three Custodes and three sisters, but then get rid of the 4apl on the leader.
It might just be my terrible rolls, but I find Custodes just cant compete with the damage many teams are able to dish out right now. It feels like every meta team has so much high damage AP and good melee that there’s no way to keep the golden boys alive past turn 2, then the sisters just get picked off.
@@CanYouRollaCrit like I said it could just be my garbage luck. I had a shield Stodes shot by a Wyrmblade sniper. 4 crits, no saves after 2 cp rerolls. Same tournament, shot by a corsair shredder (the plasma equivalent idk if that’s the blaster or shredder). 2 crits 2 hits, turned into hits by the strat. One after a CP reroll. Went down in the next activation. Seems like every game they get 1-2 shot for me hahaha.

Ah, my first Kill Team. I still love breaking out the Golden Bananas every now and then. This team actually led me to collect Custodes as my 40k army.

My opponent was young but I didn't actually make him cry, he was very sporting and fun to talk to

It feels like every meta team has so much high damage AP and good melee that there’s no way to keep the golden boys alive past turn 2, then the sisters just get picked off.
