He calls himself out out as well and plays multiple angles of different topics. But yeah, after his SNL bit there was some dust up about it and he just kept plowing forward.
Chapelle is the GOAT, but as far as pure stand up comedy, Bill Burr is the best out there at this moment IMO. He has been on a tear for like 18 years straight, he put out 12 standup specials in that time and they are all hysterical from start to finish. No topic is off limits and he will make you laugh at some uncomfortable stuff. His comedy is fearless at a time when it is sorely needed.
Respectfully disagree about his comedy still going strong. There has been an obvious drop-off and now half his shows seem to be tempered by how his wife feels about shit.
