Creed Viking Review What You Should Know

- A review of Creed Viking from 2017, the first major men's fragrance release by Creed since Creed Aventus in 2010.
This is a highly underrated new classic. It is a modern take on a masculine fougere. The opening is at once likeable with a fresh citrusy/minty but hot peppery tone, contrasted by a subtle woody sweetness, richness, and depth to the fragrance. Fair bit of development from opening to dry down. Becomes more strongly a barbershop scent longer into the dry down.

Creed is priced to not be for everybody. Viking was created (imo) to shake Aventus Train riders off the tracks.
I loved Armani Code...until everyone started wearing it.
I loved Aventus...until everyone started wearing it.
I loved Sauvage...until everyone started wearing it.
Creed is trying to be more exclusive but when 16 year olds with too much credit started buying it, they had to come up with something else. The majority is not their market
Great insight. On point. The majority of people dont realise this and just get angry with Creed for being "overpriced". When everybody smells like Creed, no one does.
Great review; I have Viking, and I love it!
I like the Viking because not everyone wearing it. That makes it unique and made everybody asking what fragrance I'm actually wearing. The clear transition from the top, mid and base notes that makes it unique. It's like in the morning it smelled woody, bold and spicy, then in the afternoon the rose, mint and black tea came up to compliment the heat of the noon time and then the dry down it stays minty but died down with thick lavender and vetiver sillage. Gave it the more exclusive and elegant vibes like walking in front of luxury spa. That's my take on the Viking.
The best outfits to be worn with this scent are casual smart or tiny print floral shirts. I think it's not suitable if you're wearing a very casual street wear.
It's more like special casual business occasion type of fragrance. Like having an evening business casual dinner meeting.
Gosh my imaginations are going wild right now 😂
Great analysis
Ross compared this to Old spice would you agree? And would you take this or labyrinth of spices??
Lalique L'Insoumis smells the same as Creed Viking ...true or false ?
love the review thanks a lot.
This and percival and mont blonc explore for my cheapy are my signature scents
I love Viking. It’s right there with beach hut man for me.
Thanks for a lovely review. It would be interesting to include cheaper alternatives with each premium item - to attract both paying and budget audience for your chanel.
It's interesting that I have never seen it while living in Norway for quite a few years. Interesting.
Definitely. I’m trying to mix niche and cheap. I’m a big fan of cheapies as well
Have you checked out Viking Cologne doc? I love the original Viking for how bold it is, but it's too much for the summertime at least in mid-day heat. Might be able to get away with it on cooler evenings. I recently got Viking Cologne, and it really fits the bill for warmer weather. To me doesn't stray too far from the original. If anything, just in the opening where you get that hit of citrus (mostly lemon for me). It holds onto that original DNA, but toned down...less peppery to be exact. Performance is pretty decent too on lotioned skin
Ordered both can't wait👍😁
@@chriscampos7217 Hope you like em, they're both great scents. I'm rocking the original today, being that we have some colder weather.
Which one do you like better?
I love viking, so unique and fresh. It’s spicy, woody and fresh
First, I like fougere. But, this is a very unique fragrance.
This is one of the best fragrances I have ever smelt.. just bought it and on the days I wear it I am in a great mood. Also I want to smell my arm all day long where I’ve sprayed it!
Do you know of any perfumes that are green and minty like this one but moderately cheaper?
I wouldn't call this green. More like woody aromatic. But in terms of mint, Diptyque Eau de Minthe is fantastic and somewhat cheaper retail, designer wise Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is the best that contains mint but that's also not green.
You might like Chanel Platinum Egoiste. No mint but green, herbal, spicy, aromatic like this one.
@@UrbanDwellerNYC Great! thanks for the recommendations!
Eau d’orange verte from Hermès
Check out Tom Ford beau de jour, really good!
Viking smells like Issey Miyake on steroids.
Just curious what does the old man smell like?
