Really like the looks of this brush as well as the t3. Im leaning towars the T2 as I dont go completely clean shaven and have a very sculpted beard. I dont feel I need quite the size of the T3.
T2 is big enough for most people and makes a terrific lather. Use warm or cold water only. This brush dries off quickly after use. Just buy t2 or t3 or both. lol
Great review Mark. I believe the combination of the soft bristles and less loft creates more backbone with sufficient shaving soap spread and coverage. I just wish it had a longer handle like PAA brushes, especially when bowl lathering.
The T2 is terrific for a travel wetshave kit. I use a Hide & Drink leather brush case with it. A T3 would be a brush you would keep at home and use t2 for travel as it takes up less space in a dopp bag. both are a decent size. t1 is too small for anything.
Hi Mark- Great brush review; thank you! As I mentioned in the previous video, the T2 works beautifully for me; it’s a real pleasure to use. The weekend is here and I hope you have a great one. Take good care and be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Mark!

I love the mysterium serum from PAA. I use the menthol, both are non scented but some great ingredients and moisturizing aftershave thicker style balm, but not heavy and all either on the skin.
On PAA's site, they state: " I so wholeheartedly believe that Mysterium Serum is the BEST Balm out there, that I am offering a 7 Day Money Back Guarantee on it!"
Hello Mark really enjoy your videos I was wondering I'm looking to buy a synthetic brush the t2 is very tempting but I know you love the new Doppler from paa if you had to only have one what would you choose thanks for your time keep up the good work have a nice day
Joseph, I'd choose the Doppler every time. It has a larger knot, larger handle, and a cool retro look. Plus, a good price. The T2 is more diminutive in size and can easily double as a travel brush. The T2 is good, but in the shave den I'd think you would you want something more substantial and robust. The Doppler fits those requirements.
Great reviews! I’ve been in the wetshave game for 15+ years. Now looking at synthetics. For a face latherer, would you recommend t2 or something like paa aerolite? Looks like this t2 splays well, better than I would expect. Thanks
Andrew, thaks.:) the T2 is a fine brush and many will enjoy using it. The knot size makes it a good pick for home or travel. However, iI recommend the Simpson synthetic T3. It has a larger knot (26 mm) and a mor esubstantial handle. i find myself always reaching for the T3. I have a review of the T3 Trafalgar with Ebony handle that you may want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/zUqBwR4YbCM/v-deo.html Regarding PAA brushes, any of them would be a good selection. Both Aerolite brushes are wonderful. The Amber is a 24mm knot, the Phantom is 26mm. The Phantom's handle is also a bit larger. Thanks Mark. T3 is great. I had no problem getting it to splay easily. I tried a t2 and the short loft just didn’t allow it to perform the way I wanted. Only one use so far, but I’m very encouraged by the T3! Re: PAA brushes, the Amber aerolite and peregrino are great… so luxurious feeling. Keep up the great videos. You provide Lots of good information. Cheers
Hi Mark, great video. Just wondering whether your thoughts are still the same now, with you still preferring the T2 over the T3? I'm torn between the two (ideally I'd get both but can't really afford/justify doing so right now) with a similar use case to you (I shave my head as well, however where I'm currently rocking a beard I only really shave the neck, cheeks and tidy up lines when it comes to the face), given the time that's passed in just wondering what your thoughts are now. Thanks bud.
Hi, Mark.:) I prefer the T3. I find myself reaching for it more often. I like the larger knot and the larger handle. The T2 is a good brush and I use it but not as often as the T3. However, some may find the T2 better suited for their needs. Clearly, the T2 is a good size for travel or a daily driver at home. The T3 was the first brush from Simpson that I purchased and it did not disappoint.
Leslie, the only advantage, I think, is if you want something a bit more substantial for travel. The T2 is a good size for travel, as well. So it can do double duty, IMHO. Coincidentally, I used my T2 just yesterday and reflected on this very point...good for home, good for travel. Whereas, the T1 is a brush whose size is best suited for travel. It also depends on how much room you have in your Dopp kit. I don't think the T2 would take up that much more room, but perhaps other items dictate that the brush be smaller.
@@MarkSzorady Mark thank you very much for your reply I bought the T1 as I have a vintage travel kit and it was a perfect fit for the chrome containers that hold a brush and shave stick. I am very impressed with my T3 and use it quite regularly. Many thanks.
z-clash, yes, I apologize...I'm fair-skinned. When I have only one day's worth of beard growth, it sometimes does not photograph that well. Two days' growth is better. And here's five days' or so: ua-cam.com/video/cN6JSLV15tw/v-deo.html Thanks for the very kind words. Greatly appreciated. 🙂👍

Jeff, the T3. Hands down. More substantial knot and handle. The T2 is fine but it borders on the size of being a travel brush. So, it's fine for both home and travel. But I find myself always reaching for the T3 due to its more generous size.
This brush come in home today!
Thanks to Mr, Szorady.
Goodmorning Mark!!
Wonderful! Enjoy! 🙂👍

Nice review. One advantage of the smaller head is that it is easier to load in those smaller soap containers. I may have to get one afterall 🤔

Carmine, yes, spot on.:) The T2 has great backbone and the lack of loft really is an advantage.:)
@@MarkSzorady True. However, the T2 is perfect for lathering with PAA soaps because of the shallow lip. No bowl needed! Enjoy the weekend Mark.

Question, which will be softer and less ‘scratchy’, Simpson synthetic trafalgar T2 or their chubby 2 synthetic? Grateful for anyone’s views please.

Can the T2 fit in a chrome brush holder that dangles it upside down?
