I think a podcast on context would be amazing. I heard a really good example recently between James 2:20-26 and Romans 4:1-3 where the authors use the story of Abraham to teach to different audiences. They are not contradicting but without context it can look like the two are teaching opposite things.

Milena I so relate to "not being enough" I have been having such a hard time at work. I've been busting my butt to try and "prove my worth" and it's causing a lot of anxiety and sadness. I just chalked it up to me being determined and dedicated. This podcast really helped me realize a lot. I am enough and the work I am doing is enough. I need to squash the enemy and his voice.

I have a question that may be interesting for a future episode, regarding context…how do we know where to find “correct” context to interpret the Bible correctly? I am glad you brought that up, since there are so many different interpretations of the Bible and conclusions people come to when reading it! I am Catholic, and we believe in the authority Sacred Tradition, which is how we have interpreted scripture throughout history…I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Nothing we do could ever undo what Christ did for us, it’s good to examine that. What Jesus Christ did for us is enough, his blood covers our sins. So thankful he “paid the debt, and made me free”.🙌🏻

Full transparency; I bought into the lie that I wasn’t “good” enough for God from a very young age. I dealt with a lot of shame from sexually immoral things that were done to me as a child and I felt as though I was at fault and did something wrong. I felt as though I was unclean and there was no going back from what had happened. What is wild is that God knew that I struggled with that soo hard as a young child that one day he audibly told me “You are a good person” when I was about 9. The shame and struggling of feeling not “good” enough has always had a stronghold on me growing up and into young adulthood until I decided to give my life to the Lord and got baptized. 5 years later I keep God’s words to me close in my heart whenever those feelings come up. It helps me to know who I am in Christ and that I am made clean in Him❤

Nem angolul fogom most ezt a kommentet megírni, mert magyarul jobban ki tudom fejezni, amit szeretnék. Remélem a fordító helyesen fogja fordítani.

Juste a funny side story to your context example "blue" can mean gay in Russian and drunk in German haha so I was really confused when you said that and I would have never guessed what you wanted to say by "Go blue" !

I do have a question about losing salvation. 36:45
I agree with everything y’all shared/said! But how would you approach that same question if someone used to claim Christianity, but now thinks it’s a lie and doesn’t believe in God/Jesus anymore? It makes me think of the parable of the seeds.
Would love to know what y’all think :)

I always thought once saved always saved. But I look at it this way. God already knows who will be saved or not. I believe that we can lose salvation.
Look at Galatians 5:4. Many of the Christians in Galatia strayed from the truth and tried to be justified by the law of Moses. The Bible not only teaches it is possible for Christians to fall from grace, it gives us an example of Christians who fell from grace - some of those Christians to whom Paul was writing!

I dont think it was an accident that the same verse that says to resisit the devil and he will flee says pretty wuickly after that that those who draw near to God, God will draw near to them. I also think sometimes we guve the enemy credit for things that are our own sinful flesh and human nature... Knowing what is truly an attack of the enemy and what is just our flesh is important... Sometimes i think we say the enemy is responsible for but is actually God pulling something ugly out of us. Allowing satan to take the blame takes the need for us to be accountable from us..

This episode got me good. especially the im just a mom part, i struggle with that DAILY. But i have to remember there is moms around the whole world who are most likely having the same thoughts & that in not alone motherhood can be such a great community if we all spoke up about it more often. the enemy has an attack on mothers by making us feel less then. I really wish i had the solution to fight these thoughts but honestly i dont im still learning and new in my faith all i know is that i fully have to depend on Jesus everyday.

I left vet school after one year because God convicted me of his Word that women are to not work outside of the home. It was a hard decision, but He has opened my eyes to what is so wrong in the world. I have a different career now that I have more freedom and can leave when God provides me a husband, in His time, without having to worry about $200,000 in student loans to repay. His plan is bigger than ours, and we have to believe every word in the Bible. Society tells women we are to work outside the home but still be a mom. You can’t do both no matter how hard you try

i don’t understand the inability to lose salvation because why then are we taught about backsliding? also why does the bible tell us that there will be people who come in his name in hell? my boyfriend also believes that we cannot lose our salvation but i feel like that idea is used so that people can live however they want but call themselves saved. i’m struggling with this !

    • @yanababinov6953

I agree with you on this the Bible mentions time and time again that people who sinned need to repent. We are in the flesh right now there, for we will be sinning. This is why we pray and ask for forgiveness again and again. We can lose our salvation if we stop believing in Christ or if we stop asking for forgiveness. This teaching is a very very dangerous belief. Believing this basically means I can live my old life again.
1)Revelation 2:4-5 talks about "losing your first love
2)Milena and Jordan just talked about how the angel had fallen from heaven did he not lose his salvation?
Those are just two examples. I hope this helps❤

Parable of the sower is also a good hint on how we can lose our salvation. The teaching should be salvation is always a possibility. You are never far too gone. We are to follow many commandments. But we do so out of love of Christ. His commandments are not burdens. The fruits of our faith will display who are the sheep and who are the goats. Peace be with you. Power of prayer is also a very good weapon. This is why we see Jesus during times of distress go to the Father, seeking the kingdom through prayer. Peace of Christ with you sister.

May the Holy Spirit guide you, but James 2:26 says that faith without works is dead....now are you going to believe Jordan who does not have a theology degree or the word of God. Btw Revelation 21:8 God tells who wont inherit heaven, cowards, adulterers, idolators( attachments we may have to this world like celebrities, social media, things we may spend too much time on)....this path of following Christ is not easy but in the end we will be rewarded with a crown but it will depend on our works not faith. We must stop living in sin.

Maybe this doesn’t have anything to do with this episode, but I just want to share good news here. I’ve been trying to get closer to God over the past few months and this podcast has been one of the things that are keeping me going on this journey to find my way back to the Lord. One thing that I’ve been constantly praying for (for months, as I said) is that God saves not just me, but my boyfriend too. I grew up in church so I’ve always known that there is my place, but he didn’t live the same experience that I did and I get that it’s hard for him to want the same thing I want when it comes to religion. But today, out of nowhere, he said he wants to start going to church. I instantly KNEW it was God’s work. We weren’t even talking about it, and he simply said he wanted to go to church too.
I just want to say to you that it took me 10 months praying and begging God for him to change his heart about it, and God heard me and worked in His perfect time. 😭🙏🏽❤️

This is an area I really need help in, especially in this point of my life... How do you know when it's Satan urging you to do something or God? I'm at a fork in my road and both "paths" are seemingly good paths. I have prayed and prayed over what path is the correct path, but I can't seem to differ between what God wants me to do and what I shouldn't do.. how do you know when it's Satan quoting scripture or when it's God? I would love any words of advice or prayers in general.
How do you know if something is difficult because of Satan or it's because God is building your character and setting you up to be a stronger person? How do you know if you need to let go of it or not? What I'm "holding" onto isn't in any way sinful or wrong and letting go wouldn't be sinful or wrong either (just a fyi)
