The Morrow of WHAT Sabbath? (Pentecost, Pt. 1)

- This is a series I did back in 2012 on the way our congregation counts for the second of the three annual festivals in Holy Scripture. I thought about re-teaching them, but I really haven’t changed my view on any particularity of this teaching, so I thought I would just take the time to add video charts to the teachings and place them here for viewing. I hope and pray this brings clarity to the subject overall and to our position in particular. Shalom shalom…
Fantastic. The LXX, Philo, and Josephus are so clear!
LXX Lev 23:11 "on the morrow of the first day" AND
Lev: 23:15 "from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf".
HalleluYAH Brother Matthew, I agree 100%!! Honestly, I believe it's the only way that it truly makes sense. I thank YaHUaH everyday for opening my eyes to His "proper" counting of days.
I live in Oak Ridge Tennessee right outside Knoxville and I hope one day to get down to your area to fellowship soon!!
I'm at the other end of Pellissippi....Road trip?
I love YHWH! thanks for this teaching brother Matthew! truly a blessing.
Thank you. I appreciate you bringing in your understanding of the LXX. very good
1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as YUH now knows me completely.
👍we will see into a mirror CLEARLY!😊
We will see a VESSEL that the master Potter has Created and then filled with HIS HOLY CHARACTER!
PRAISE OUR FATHER YHWH AND OUR ELDER BROTHER YASHUAH, OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE!
I’m in the new and confused camp learning all the controversies. 😆 But you always make so much sense. Thank you brother Matthew.
NOW when I was come home again, and my woman Channah was restored unto me, with my son Toviyahu, in the Feast of Shavu'oth, which is the holy feast of the seven weeks, there was a good dinner prepared me, in the which I sat down to eat. TOVIYAHU (TOBIT) 2:1 את CEPHER
Thank you for this interesting and informative study. May YUH bless you, your family, and your ministry.
Another wonderful teaching. For me, another proof that the Sabbath referred to is the first day of Chag Ha Matzot is the thematic connection between Wave Sheaf and the resurrection of Mashiach. I believe that when Sha'ul calls Mashiach the _firstfruits_ of the resurrection (1 Cor 15.20), he is telling us that Mashiach rose on the day of first fruits of the barley harvest, the 16th of abib. Indeed, the waving of the barley in ancient time was a foreshadowing of the resurrection to come. Mashiach died on the 14th (Pesach), was in the earth on the High Shabat on the 15th, and rose on the 3rd day (Wave Sheaf), which was the 16th. Once you understand that Hebrews use inclusive counting, it all adds up. Shalom.
Thank you for your anointed message. This totally made sense to me as a new moon sabbath observer. I look forward to lessons 2 & 3?
You’re welcome. 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement… parts 2, 3, and 4 are in the same playlist.
I also find much harmony in the lunar calendar. It makes sense scripturally, thematically, spiritually, and naturally.
There are many texts in the Bible that speak of new moon and Sabbath. Search and you will be amazed!
NICELY DONE!👍👍👍
I knew for years that the count,
(7 Sabbaths)was wrong.
15 years ago I saw Ferrar Fenton's translation, and I instantly knew that it was the correct way to count to the Feast of Weeks.
From the Sabbath(1st Day of UNLNDB/WEEKLY SABBATH)
COUNT 7 SABBATHS
THEN COUNT 50.
It is the ONLY CALCULATED Holy Day because it is supposed to land in the middle of the Holy Days 7 month circuit.
Due to the Hezekiah's Sundial incident the months are not always 30 days.
SO.... it must be calculated, NOT dated.
Brother Matthew, I do enjoy your teachings. U 9:51 have such a beautiful heart❤thanks, wendi from A
Shalom brother Matthew🕊 I so appreciate how this added to my understanding. Have a blessed Shabbat 🙏🕊
Well done sir. And thoughts on first fruits of wine, first fruits of oil, and first fruits is wood?
John 16:33 Amplified Bible I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world, [Terrarium] you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
For it is the Feast of Shavu'oth and the Feast of Firstfruits of the wheat harvest: this feast is twofold and of a double nature: according to what is written and engraven concerning it, celebrate it. YOVHELIYM (JUBILEES) 6:21 את CEPHER
@Tyler Porter, I am a little confused and still learning…. I thought the First Fruits was the barley harvest as the wheat was not ready yet. So much to learn and thank you brother if you can clarify.
So, 3 days in the heart of the earth....
Do you have a teaching on this with the lamb killed on passover and resurrection on first day of the week?
Thanks

I’d love to know your understanding of why so many cultures and languages have the seventh day called Sabbath.
If you look at the dates you can see why. It all happened after the sabbath was changed to Saturday continual by Hillel ll. After that, the calendar slowly started spreading around the world. Greece is the easiest to see this in. They are a very new and recent addition to the former Julian current Gregorian calendar. They changed the names of their week when they adopted the calendar about 100 years ago. We also need to take into account that sabbaton is week and directly 7 not just "cease/rest". Going off the top of my head and have brain fog... but you can look into this to verify and double check me.
Both versions are speaking of the same thing. But so many people are too blind to admit this about the Sabbath.
The seventh Sabbath after the week of unleavened bread, which the count of the 49days begins on the 22day of the month according to God's reckoning of time,, not the calendar but by the light of the moon, how Mary and her son Jesus Christ found their Sabbaths.
Brother I think you have a knowledge of the DSS. I am surprised you did not bring up the way that community of the DSS kept Shavuot. Some believe, including me, that they were the Zadokite priesthood that were ousted from the temple during the time after the Maccabees and especially by Herod. Also there is some evidence that this was potentially the community of John the baptizer since he was obviously the son of a priest yet was not in the temple but in the wilderness baptizing people in repentance and railing against the religious temple class. Also the location he was baptizing was right near some of the Qumran caves. The count begins according to that community the day after the weekly Sabbath the week after unleavened bread has ended.
The sermon was from 2012, and I wasn’t aware of this view at that time. I’m now familiar with the view, but I chose not to insert it in the old recording. I believe it’s contradictory to the LXX reading.
John’s dad was a Levite priest who worked in the then standing Temple. He wouldn’t have been called righteous and blameless (Luke 1:5-6) had he followed the wrong calendar.
@@emjmnc yes I know Zacharias was a priest in the temple and was righteous which obviously insinuates he kept the proper calendar. But what was the proper calendar is the question. The New Testament is basically silent on what the details of the correct calendar was. Also, there are only glimpses in hints at what the correct Calendar is in the TNK. There is no clearly defined calendar in the 66 books that people consider the exclusive canon of scripture. Only Enoch and jubilees define expressly the correct calendar and if you reject those books as authoritative, you can not decipher the correct calendar. It’s mostly speculation and reading into the text your preconceived calendar. Meaning no offense but just being direct, The calendar you follow is not referenced in any historical literature in any way shape or form. I have no idea how you can justify keeping a calendar that has no historical basis.
there are people who keep the seventh day sabbath, which is Saturday, they do this because its biblical. they dont keep the day of Rome, nowhere in scripture is their any support for the keeping of the first day Sunday.
The first day of unleavened bread is *never-not once-called a Sabbath* in the authoritative, inspired Hebrew Masoretic Text.
After the night of Passover...the high Sabbath was, which is why they wanted Messiah down from the stake, correct me if I am out.
What about the day of atonement or judgement?
That is in the fall, just before Tabernacles.
Leviticus 23:26-32
sorry if you already knew that, I am not sure what you are asking exactly.
Shalom
@@Tracy-Inches how does Jesus fulfill it like he did for Passover and Pentecost?
@@rhb30001
What do you mean by fulfill it?
@@Tracy-Inches like the Passover points to Christs work of salvation for man ..Pentecost was the out pouring of His Spirit as he is in heaven as our High Priest… I know the other feasts point to His work too … the last feast of tabernacles represents the second coming
The Sabbath is not saturn's day.
Right! Saturnalia ( Saturn day ) is X mass
@@guardedcitadel5837 And the weekly [Saturn's day].
I am not aware of that one.
@@guardedcitadel5837 Aka Saturday.
Oh ! Ok !
