First let me say, WOW! I have had to tear down 2 other general mob farms that just did not work. I was hesitant and skeptical to do this because of the size and amount of resources. However, I did build your unbreakable iron farm and it has been running beautifully for the past few weeks. Kudos to you for that. I decided to gather enough resources to do at least one level of this farm, just to see if it would work for me. I'm stunned. I ran it for an hour and got 40 levels and gobs of drops. (9 stacks of flesh, 6 stacks of bones, 5 stacks of gunpowder, and 5 stacks of string.. plus the armor and weapons that I can disenchant for more exp.) The mobs were nearly dropping in a steady stream, 2-3 at a time. Its absolutely fantastic. I will be gathering the rest of the materials to make another level or two. If I could like this a 1000 x I would. You've got another subscriber 🤩 I'll be going through some of your other builds to see what else I might need. Thanks Prowl!
EDIT: Quick edit, the numbers above were from using an iron sword with sharpness 3. I'm interested in seeing the difference in what Looting 3 makes. I'll come back and share.
don't use looting..unless you're going to build a sorter under this... ibuse it less than I thought even though I LOVE it for mending equipment...
I only built it because an enderman killed me while I was in a loading screen from the nether and I lost all my items and levels from a glitch from 45 having never died on my survival world... and I was salty as F because I had just finished my enchanting room
It took me a full day of hunting in dark caves and a fair bit of iron gear, but I finally managed to gather enough string for a single layer of this mob grinder... it hasn't been running long, and already it has almost returned enough string to build the next layer. I'm finding this to be a great first experience with general mob farms. ♡
The best way to get the string is to go to a mineshaft and mine the cobwebs with shears. Each cobweb is 9 string.

i’m an OCD / symmetrical freak, so i tweaked the design a bit to make the drop shoot centered with the spider filter and it works just as well. amazing design. thanks
Your tutorials really help me, because I play minecraft pocket edition which is a bedrock version and a good mob farm is quite hard to find. Yours latest mob farm really works like Java edition. Hats off to you. And keep making great videos.
Built the farm this week and it's working beautifully on our realm. We ended up going without the trident killer and it's fun to smack the mobs as they drop down. Thanks for the great video!
Great tutorial, while building the farm I spawned in 4 raids so if you're building this you may want some milk with you so you can get rid of the effect before you go near your trading hall. This is a great farm, nice job designing it.

thanks prowl, this farm is working great! only built 2 layers because I was impatient to get to some leg chopping and still getting lots of mobs and loot! :)
To gather the STRING for this farm, you can mine cobwebs. Mining with a sword will give you 1 string each, but if you mine the cobwebs with SHEARS, each web can be crafted into 9 string. I find this to be the fastest way to gather string if you don’t already have a mob farm. Abandoned mine shafts generally have the most cobwebs, but the stronghold and abandoned villages also have quite a bit too. Hope this helps! :D

If you have an iron farm, you will have more than enough string
Ooh, I love the magma block spider filter refinement! I'm gonna go back and add it to my farm that I built based on your last general mob tower. (The one with the campfire tower. I guess I'll silk touch myself a ton of campfires and repurpose them for detailing somewhere else. :-D)

Can confirm this is still working as of 1.19.60. I had my doubts after my first attempt didn't spawn anything after 2hrs of afk. My problem was I built over a body of water that wasn't ocean biome! Small pond an river if you will.. moving 50blocks over into above ground did the trick as soon as first floor was finished, mobs spawned in faster then I had a Chute an platform built, I now have mobs falling out of render distance. Confirmed to work. Thank you 👍

I just finished building this in Survival and let me tell you… holy build… this one was a task. I’m still fairly new to Minecraft so figuring out how to navigate up and down and transfer materials was interesting. However, I had so much fun doing this. I love it how every time I came down from the top for more resources I was greeted by zombies and skeletons back at the top upon my return. This build worked from the moment I finished the spider filter chamber. I’m having trouble deciding if this or the cow farm is my favorite because I’m in shock by the results. Thanks Prowl!
I'm having that trouble in survival. Trying to build out the outer layer for the magna blocks is a pain. I've fallen several times. Thinking of just doing one layer
@David Broome scaffolding helps tremendously if you can't find cobwebs then an iron farm produces some string but its painfully slow

The spider filter is a good enhancement, and it's helpful to know about the use of half slabs at the top to prevent endermen spawning
You can also make the roof with full blocks on the 3rd block then slabs, like a traditional farm roof
@@nathanjames5843 But that will not make the top layer a surface spawn area, so it no longer benefits from an independent mob cap, which in this case makes the spawn rates a lot higher because a of a higher mob cap. (almost doubled)
@@ElMiniRichMC yes it will, by putting a full block where the slabs are, you still have a 2 high gap underneath, then you put the slabs on top of the blocks, instead of slabs then blocks
@@nathanjames5843 Putting full solid blocks in the ceiling converts the surface spawn area into a cave spawning area and it will lower the spawn rates. That's why in the video he used slabs to prevent spawn and then transparent blocks (tinted glass).
I built the camp fire one on my older server but I started a new sever about a month ago and finally got around to building this farm and I like it so much better the spider filter is an amazing addition

DUDE !!!! The KRAZY amount of XP that comes from this system. I had it at 2 floors and was getting 6 lvls every 45min. I got 4 floors and getting XP galore, and this is without Trident. Thanks for this setup.
My storage is garbage right now but man the xp is awesome. This was mad hard in Survival lol on the first try, died about 40 times between fall damage and creepers

I recommend adding sticky pistons and levers up near the top of the fall chamber to close it off if something glitches at the bottom (my minecart hopper got pushed out at one point) also it would make it easier to switch between players by removing the tridents)

Tinted glass is so hard to get, finding geo's take for ever, maybe make a video on how to get alot of tinted glass next?

Mobs kept getting stuck at the drop chamber so if your mob rates are slow that could be why. After I fixed it, this farm worked amazing
I'm here 3 weeks later to thank you. I was struggling with procrastination, that's why I didn't thank you earlier. For those who want to build this, check his item sorter+trash can video from the last guide series he did with bluejay. The farm gave me a stack and a half of gun powder in 5 minutes. That's approximately 12 stacks per hour. (I'm using looting III). If I could like this and the filter video more than once, I would. Now I can make my bone meal based farms and progress with the building fase of my base. Also I am making this comment 5 minutes after the 5 minutes test, so you can trust the process all the way
Make a zero tic bonemeal farm using kelp if u need aot of bonemeal, i used oinkoinks version, but it require builind all insode one chunk and u can find chunk borders with fancy leaves by turning it off and on then updating one side, id look that video up as well l, and then expanding it from border to border u can get more then 1 bonemeal per second u get about 1 stack per minute by making a fully fleshed out farm that span from chunk border to chunk border
Also the full farm that soans all the way across chunk borders is hella lagy on ohone so keep that in mind andkelp acumulates at he top s pause the farm and go collect if rq then throw it in a hopper and c tinue running the farm

Is the tinted glass the only option for the cap? Cuz that’s a lot of tint to farm and geodes take forever to find.
I actually don't understand what it's used for other than being able to look into the farm without letting light enter😅
I've built in my survival world my first iteration of this farm with only one spawning level (so far) and a normal stone ceiling with torches on top. Still works fine 😊

Love the set up. I had to add a cow and a chest with a bucket. Keep getting a illager captain. Now my trident keep falling down in the floor
What if i build this farm on ocean or some kind of big lake does it increases rates ? I think it will not because of spawning area does it work
duuuuude... this thing is so nice... i got my xp farm... my iron farm broke, but i am working on a lesa than efficient version on top of my trading hall for aesthetics... either way... I broke it probably or the golems found a weird place to spawn i didnt block underground... but it got me so much iron and i built sheep pens around my food farm so i can build another basic 5x5 one whenever... it still got me about a chest fullnof irom BlOckS before i busted it (i assume i put my trading hall too close even though it is 200 blocks away... i imagine if i break all the beds and workstations and replace it would work again.
BUT i came here to say how much i like this farm now that I started adding mending to me equipments
Will the farm be ok if when during the time I am building the spider filter, the water freezes
Whats the purpose of the half slab top floor + glass? I understand half slabs if you dont want to put torches up there but why the glass?
FWIW in your first scaffolding-based mob farm video, I think you said it originated in "the Chinese technical community" without naming individuals.
Maybe add in a Turtle egg for the baby zombies to be attracted 2 blocks above the magma. Not sure if that'll pull them if they seem to be lazy
Mobs no longer see buttons as blocks, someone told me they see trapdoors as blocks, but I haven't tested it.

If you were able to light up all the surrounding caves would it work at a lower level? It would be nice like old school java editions to have a mob spawner at ground level just ticking away in the background
You 'll have to mine up all slime chunks to bedrock or slab them (slimes spawn at any light level) plus you need to make sure that every chunk that has has the spawning platform and any adjacent has been mined( in case slime chunks) or on normal chunks you may spawn proof with torches instead of mining/placing spawnproof blocks(such as slabs, glass, leaves, etc)
I have been trying to make an effort to watch the ads to help your channel since I cannot afford to be a member, but for some reason UA-cam has been only showing 1 of 2 ads and then when the first ad plays through it won't play the 2nd ad I don't have a choice but to skip it. There is a Big issue with having to take thé trident if it stops working, because if a creeper drops a the same time, it will blow wour trident killer up. It happend to me: 3 Times in a single day. I finally have set this up without the trident killer because it's si risky to enter thé cage and throw back thé trident in, espacially if thé trident stops working After 2 mins liké it happend to me. But except for that point, Excellent tutorial ! I had a blast making this farm except the whole hour i took rebuilding thé trident killer 3 times
Does the top need to be tinted glass?
I play on Xbox. Don’t know if it’s an Xbox thing or a bug but when I leave render distance my tridents disappear. any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for making bedrock tutorials.
Good tutorial, BUT it could be better build video if you just show how to build from the bottom crusher level to the upper heights. Way less chances to drop dead.

Tridents keep glitching out, but using your later trident killer for skeleton farm doesn't have this issue. So i now need to update my farm to the more recent version of the trident killer 👍
I have a problem when I place the water down it doesn’t get all of the ends that turn the hole into a 3x3. How do I fix that?
The 44 blocks up is just a hostile mob spawn check, right? So if I know I have 44 blocks of mob proofing below, can I put it lower? Or will it impact spawning rates even if there is nowhere valid to spawn?
If you are fully spawn proofed below, you should be fine to put the farm lower.
is it do able if I skip the Scaffolding. Full on cobblestone with running water on it
And I heard mobs will not spawn on Scaffolding by 1.20 will that affect the farm. I'm quite of a Noob here
Can you make creeper only gunpower farms on Bedrock, or is that a Java exclusive? Just curious, as gunpowder is really the only drop you'd need off this late game, especially if you have a good bonemeal farm and don't need bones or string anymore

You can make a creeper only farm on Bedrock but because the way the spawning works it's almost always better just to make a general mob farm. You get more spawn attempts by not blocking spawn spots to filter out non-creepers and end up with more creepers from the more frequent spawns. If all you care about is gunpower then Ghasts are what you want to farm.
Ghast farms are best in regards to gunpowder.

Built a witch farm for some redstone and gunpowder, got about 2 stack gunpowder and 3 stack redstone in 30 minutes among other things.
The farm was designed by silent whisperer with the rates being 1500 items per hour.
So I Built this inside my 101 glass sphere in the Sky. It meets all the requirements (70 block above the water, no other spawnable blocks around ect.) I get 0 mob spawning. What other mechanics prevent the mob spawning? I built one away from everything and it works fine but the one inside the huge sphere never spawns mob... There is an iron golem at the afk level and alot of other builds, 2 villagers about 40 blocks away aswell.
Can we just finish that top floor with cobblestone blocks instead of slabs and glass?
