Absolutely terrible.
I am only joking, this is the best mob farm, rates are OP, drops could supply many people (especially with looting III). It is WAYYYY cheaper than other mob farms, it looks good unlike all the other clunky mob farms. This farm is also amazing for XP, I got to level 58 from testing it out in creative (many pauses to make changes to the farm) so if you make this in survival and fully AFK you will get a lot of XP and goods. However there are a few helpful upgrades which either improve rates or make the farm safer so you can AFK without being blown up or attacked by mobs:
-Firstly, build a layer of solid blocks around the trident killer, you can leave two blocks where the lever is and to the right of it as glass to collect XP. Make sure to put an extra glass block on the right of where you are collecting XP and a solid block under it so you can see. If you are really worried about mobs going through and don't care much about seeing your worst nightmare's getting slaughtered, you can place solid blocks on the right where there is extra glass and if you are really worried about mobs jumping out and don't care about XP you can just cover it all with solid blocks so that it is a cube, then you place a lever on the solid block behind the piston.
-It is really important that you do the first part for this two work. You can waterlog pistons (I think this is exclusive to bedrock but I am not sure). Make sure you have done the first part and you have a layer of solid blocks around the trident killer or the waterlogged pistons will leak. You could just have one block around the three waterlogged pistons but you should only do that if you want spiders and potentially other mobs to jump scare you so make sure to do the first step (also don't waterlog the piston with a lever on it).
-You maybe wondering, why would you waterlog the pistons? Throw in a impaling V trident and find out! Seriously, this thing does serious damage, one shotting zombies, skeletons, creepers and spiders. Only baby zombies (somehow), zombies with armour, possibly skeletons with armour but I think they get one shotted too and witches need more than one hit to die. This rapidly increases the rate that they die and also makes sure the farm is never packed, preventing any glitches with mobs that are most likely going to happen when the farm is crammed.
-replace the magma blocks with solid blocks as some spider sometimes get stuck there when there are other spiders and they die to magma which ruins the rates a little bit and other mobs will push them in anyways.
- build a glass cage above the leaves on the edge which connects to the ceiling, you can replace the leaves with solid blocks if you want and you don't have to build a glass cage, it could be out of solid blocks or leaves but glass looks the best and is easy to get if you are near a desert and you have a super smelter, I recommend this one: ua-cam.com/video/VzGvsIH8tAY/v-deo.html
This will stop mobs falling out from the platforms, I had a creeper fall out, luckily I was just testing in creative.
-Place trapdoors on all the solid blocks on the edge of the platforms, this increases the chance that baby zombies and spiders fall off, you may notice mobs staying on the trapdoors but due to their AI, eventually they will fall off, wither by walking off or by going back into the water in a different angle, doing this is important if you want more string and rotten flesh.
-Finally I have some manual tips that you should do: Don't go to the AFK area without turning on the trident killer to turn it on later, this will not increase the rates but it will reduce it and make it easier for mobs to glitch out. Instead turn on the trident killer straight away then go to the AFK spot. If you want more loot, hold looting III, this will only work if you are the one who threw the trident so if you built this on a world with some friends or in a realm, they have to replace the trident if they want to use looting III. Do not go to far away from your trident killer while it is on, I am not sure what is the limit but it works while you are at the AFK spot but when it does temporarily break, it pushes two pistons at the same time which barely kills any mobs because they stand on the extended pistons, to fix it when it does happen, turn the trident killer off then on again. This next tip has nothing to do with rates or safety but if you are not completely AFK and monitor the screen every now and then (see what I did there) use a spyglass as this makes the farm really funny.
I am sure not everyone will read this much but if you want to get the best farm, and were willing to make this farm for +4 hours, I am sure you can take a bit of time to read this and make adjustments so you benefit the most out of this. Please pin this so others can see, these are really important points that are a must have unless you want your farm to blow up (literally). Hopefully someone finds this helpful.

Bro also… you should mention that when you build a layer of solid blocks around the trident killer… replace the red stone torches with observers observing the pistons, otherwise the water logging just breaks the cycle… took me a while to figure out

I think the explanation is that the farm is not in render distance and most of it would be out of the entity render distance, thats why the 26 block distance is needed
If you add 28 block of fall distance with your collection system at the bottom the rates go way higher because the mobs die way faster to make room for new spawns. Great guide updated mine 3x better now, thanks 😊

I tried that but then I had to be standing near the bottom of the kill chamber for it to work, being up on a platform at the same height as the platforms just caused them to despawn as they fell resulting in no loot.

I spent 6 HOURS to make this. And ima say it was worth every minute thank you bro so much this worked so much better than my ither mob farm with this ill never run out of string or gunpowder in my main only survival world

I first built this to 5 and it worked so well. I added a storage system and I put in silent whisperers trident killer in because it will one shot them. I expanded the farm to 11 and it works so well. Once you go above 7 expand the water area so the don’t fall off the edges. Great farm design. You earned yourself a sub

I just built it on my new survival and it’s great only has three layers but works well do u know how to stop spiders from escaping

I used this farm and it’s ridiculously good. I built 4 of them 200 blocks above an ocean all in range of each other and ran their hoppers into one super sorting system. Made 2 double chests of gunpowder by afk-ing overnight plus every other drop. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUILD 👍🏻😄👾

So I just made this farm in a realm and the rates are decent even in normal mode. However I've noticed that a lot of the mobs that are falling die before they reach the water at the platform and some of they fall and hit the leaves down there and die. Also some are even dying when they hit the water down there. I think their moving while their falling and hitting the blocks on the layers of the farm but that wouldn't explain why their dying down at the platform. Do you know how I could fix this or something I possibly did wrong?
That's weird, try making the water platform a little bigger.

It’s very fast in the beginning, but spiders and baby-zombies won’t get swept away by the water and slow the spawning of other mobs down. It is resource-efficient though.
You could add some trapdoors to the edge of every platform

Well everytime you go back to get the loot you'll automatically get the xp.

It actually would for xp id recommend an enderman farm its the lastest video on the channel or guardian farm and i made one not too long ago, both of them work and are easier to build

Thank you so much. This was exactly what I needed. Although it took me five hours to make for several reasons, this farm got me to level ten after waiting for mobs to spawn for about seven minutes. The only problem I found was that sometimes skeletons and zombies would barely hang on to the platform they spawned in and would refuse to fall. Other than that, this was completely worth my time.
Well im glad you liked it and yeah those zombies are pretty annoying but I realised that they don't affect the rates by a lot so I just didnt bother doing anything for it

In the middle of making a quad farm with 7 stacks on each one, already finished one, and even without a roof the spawn are decent at night, and i hooked it up to an item sorter bout to be a damn good mob farm

I built this farm in creative, and after about 30 mins of afk on hard mode, I got 63 gunpowder, 61 bones, 26 string, and 58 arrows. This was with only 5 layers, and if you add more it will only produce more. Would recommend if you were thinking of doing this in your world
Edit: it may not seem like it, but the 26 blocks away helps the farm SO much
Yeah more layers more drops although if your device is a lil laggy 8 layers is the max but if you have a strong pc you could go to 15 layers

Currently building this on hard mode survival. Gonna add a 20 block drop so mobs are killed quicker and trapdoors on each layer so spiders don’t clog. Doing this in the middle of ocean + Y=160+ no islands remotely close. Doing 8 layers of this. Also adding a glass wall on the sides closest to edge to maximize rates(this doesn’t rly matter but it looks cool plus every 10 minutes 1 mob may fall out and that just pisses me off). Will update y’all on rates once done with this farm. Rates bouta be crazy tho.

Just finished and btw don’t do glass wall. Do add a 20 block drop tho. Don’t need the trapdoors on all layers, just do half
10 mins of afk at my farm(my farm is in perfect spot and conditions) got me 1 stack of bones, 2 stacks of arrows, 40 string, 40 gunpowder, 2 stacks rotten flesh, and 40 inc sacs. Squid were spawning so that’s why i got inc sacs. Would def build, it’s worth it. U need hella blocks and scaffolding tho.

hey Dude i have a question is there a certain time we have to wait in the afk spot for mobs to spawn because as soon as i stood on the afk spot no mobs would spawn!

You can go really far above the farm but even with 4 farms i recommend 26 blicks away from them
I made this farm filter out spiders by adding trapdoors into the chamber hole inner corners like a wall, so spiders get stuck and die while the other mobs fall through. This made somehow more it efficient since two to three spiders get stuck and stops the whole farm efficiency.
What patter did u add them im having problems with spiders rn

Hmmm closing it up won't really affect it and i dont recommend building it underground because you'll get less drops and its going to be a pain to light all the caves surrounding the farm

Pro tip this farm is already great but it can be better simply by holding a looting three sword while you afk it triples the rates

so at first it wasnt working and then i fixed it easily and now it works great, i already have almost 3 stacks of gunpowder(what i built the farm for) and i have only been afxing for 45 minutes or less, great farm highly recomend you encase your afx area with glass and then you put a chest so in case, godforbid anything happens you have all your items in that chest.

don't forget to add a roof and spwanproof it at your afk spot so that fantoms can't kill you
I made 4 farms of 8 platforms from the AFK spot. The farm seems just as fast if not slower. After a few hours I barely got 9 stacks of gunpower (I need a TON for my tunnel bore - diamonds just got more valuable). I lit up the ocean below with glowstone but didn't seem to make a difference. I'm AFK at like Y 177 but maybe caves somehow? Any tips?
I think there is a certain mob cap so even woth many farms, there is a max number of mobs that can spawn

No there is no real way to prevent a certain mob to spawn and about the drowned thing if you build this farm in the middle of an ocean it will also act like a drowned farm, finding the location is a bit tricky tho

in any map it needs to be y=160, or did you just give the example of your map?
Nope, it has to be 160 for any world to ensure no mobs spawn close by

Find the end portal and place a bed next to it so you respawn there.
Next you have to go to the end, and place a water bucket on the very edge of the island.
Go down the water stream and build down until you reach y level 1.
Build in a line to change your z coordinate.
Build until your z coordinate reached a multiple of 16 (like 32, 48 etc)
This is to ensure you aren't on a chunk border.
Place an indicator block.
Now, you have to do this next part fast or else it may not work.
Make a small platform and place the blocks that you want to dupe onto it.
Now go back up and go into the end portal.
Now go back into the end portal.
Go down the water stream and destroy th e blocks that you placed (including the small platform)
Go back into the end portal
Re-enter the ender portal
Once you go back down the stream, you will see that your blocks have regenerated!
You can do this as many times as you want
Interesting ill try it and see what happens

Dont worry I help everyone I can! I also have a somewhat laggy ps4 and i managed to run 8 layers with ease but if you think thatll lag go for 6 or 7 it will still be very efficient

Just felt like asking (the farm is amazing btw) if you wanted to get xp would you be able to just remove the trident killer and manually kill the mobs, I'm just asking because i found out that you can't really get any of the xp from mob kills because the blocks surrounding the trident killer.
TLDR: Can you remove trident killer and make it manual to be able to get xp?
Thanks! You could make it manual but you would have to go everytime kill some mobs and go back to afking for a while so you cant really afk
There's more efficient xp farms anyway. Mob farms are an insignificant source of xp compared to most forms, including a simple potato autosmelter can be used as a decent xp farm

Just to make sure, this should be over an ocean right? And if there is surrounding land, do I need to make sure that’s lit up? Or can I simply turn my fender distance down to where I can only see the farm and nothing else?

Lol actually ypu can build this farm anywhere but you will get the best drops from an ocean but in your case since you are close to land it might be a lake or river biome, so id recommend going a lil further

so if i were to afk in the afk spot for like an hour would the xp despawn or would it still be there considering itll be out of the chunk
The xp will stack for a certain amount but there is still a cap to it, so there is a maximum amount you can get per afk session.
This build took me 4 hours to make this and it was worth it (in survival with all the layers u had)

For the maximum amount of drops oceans are the best biome and yeah i believe it does work on vanilla servers
The farm works great at collecting mobs. My trident killer isn’t pushing the tridents. The pistons are moving but I can’t get the trident to deal any damage. Is this common?
Oh yeah that means you just picked up the trident by accident throw it back in and try throwing more tridents itll fix it
Daamn. This farm really is crazy when it starts working, i was standing in the afk spot for like 15 seconds and thought it didnt work and then all of a sudden a group of mobs started spawning only 6 layers and its making craazy loot😂

Yo is there anything to do when a mob gets stuck on the side it works very well i do reccomend it its just i want to no if i did something wrong but this is a cool design and will definitely be using in the future

You could go for campfires but you will not get the xp nor the looting effect
