A tricky little strumming pattern here - but you can nail it! Easy chords - a new version of the G chord to watch out for.
You have a great feel for this song and teach it in a way that is straight to the point and not annoying (like most lessons are).
Great lesson, this also the first lesson I've come across of yours and as a beginner its a great way to learn the strumming patterns. Will check more out for sure! Thanks

Could we substitute C9 for regular C?
Thanks Mark - very glad you enjoyed it. You could use Cadd9 instead of the C if you like - they don't do that on the recording. You might find it sounds a bit too rich for this song. I know it's an easier chord to get to physically from a G but I'd stick with a plain old C chord. Best to you!

i don't understand your G or C positioning. Wrong for this song.
Trying to learn this as my very first guitar song. And you kinda blasted thru the chorus part at the end super fast. Watched like 8 or 10 times trying to get the count with the up's and downs...

Hi Shane great lesson. This is my wife's favorite song so I'm glad I stumbled upon this channel! Quick question: when you play it off at the end at normal speed, it seems like you are filling in more than what you taught here--is that just my imagination? Or are you strumming up and down quickly instead of uu/dd? Especially notice it on the C strum. Thanks!
Hi Marc - thank you for that! It is a great song indeed - Glad to have you with us! If there are some extra strums toward the end that aren't in the basic pattern it's OK - I'm just filling the holes a bit with some whispery strums. Cheers!
