    Poor Sephiroth, just when it looked like he’d get his mother’s picture back. And then after all that Rhadore wasn’t even a suitable site for a Mako reactor.

      Glenn was understandably angry with Sephiroth's actions, BUT... in the end, that's HIS fault, because Sephiroth was just a KID, and Glenn's the adult in the situation regardless. If he wanted to blame anyone, he needed to have blamed himself for not going with Sephiroth perhaps, or just telling Seph to stay with the others.
      At any rate, it wasn't going to end well. Kicking off Seph's necklace achieved nothing, and just further scarred the teen.

      "I'm go angry at Glenn, he didn't give Sephiroth a chance to explain and just punished him..."
      Glenn did ask him why he killed Rosen, so he already gave him a chance to explain. But Sephiroth was still in shock from having to kill someone his team personally knew, so he stayed mute and decided to go get his necklace instead of answering Glenn. So every passing second, Glenn got angrier and angrier at his silence until he couldn't take it anymore. So he lashed out.

    I knew that it was going to turn out like this. I just knew. It's like...all the signs were there. This place wasn't in the original FFVII, just like Banora wasn't in Crisis Core, so it had to be destroyed.
    But still...it hurts like hell.
    Sephiroth was THIS close to having something close to a family if Glenn could have thought for a bit more and let Sephiroth explain, instead of shattering the relationship they just made. Sephiroth didn't deserve that, and it really hurts how much he had to force himself to suck it up. How much of his suffering has he bottled up?

    • @thefinalfantasynation
      @thefinalfantasynation 15 днів тому

      So, so true. And that's the sad part, Sephiroth has suffered the MOST of anyone in the entire story of FF7, and all his life, he's just had to bury his pain. We're hopeful that hey will see himself free of Jenova's will, and some form of recompense would happen for him.

    • @0axis771
      @0axis771 15 днів тому

      @@thefinalfantasynation The sad thing is, Sephiroth isn't a slave to Jenova's will. The OG makes it clear that Jenova became enslaved to Sephiroth's.
      Sephiroth's evil nature is ultimately a result of how so much grief and sorrow piled up that the only hope that he clung to was in regard to his mother. But when Genesis exposed that Jenova was not even human, that was the last straw.
      Sephiroth just broke. All that sorrow, anger, resentment, bitterness, grief, betrayal, and hatred just exploded out.

    • @thefinalfantasynation
      @thefinalfantasynation 14 днів тому

      @@0axis771 EVEN if that was the case [and it's not], that was retconned later on as the devs stated in the Reunion Files, that it was decided that everything revolved around Jenova's will, and specifically said "NOT Sephiroth's".
      Then in Crisis Core/Crisis Core Reunion, it's shown clearly how Jenova begun exploiting his mental breakdown in Nibelheim.
      Sephiroth controls Jenova, by virtue of her powers and her cells, but when it comes to the will, that's purely Jenova's will we see steering him. Jenova has ALWAYS been the primary villain. In Dirge of Cerberus, the referred to the fight with Sephiroth and Meteor "the JENOVA war" not the "Sephiroth" war. Sephiroth is a slave to Jenova's will and has been ever since Nibelheim.
      And if he was not... why are we seeing him reflect so much at the Edge of Creation? Why show so much of his sympathetic side, and how much he's been exploited his whole life? There's NOTHING to show sympathy for Jenova, because Jenova is everyone's true enemy.

    • @0axis771
      @0axis771 14 днів тому

      @@thefinalfantasynation I mean, other statements state that Sephiroth's will and strength are unrivaled by anyone else's. There are statements and confirmations that are contradictory at this point.
      Sephiroth's actions are ultimately the actions of someone who could not accept what he learned.
      Sephiroth wants to believe he is a messiah? Sephiroth wants to be a god?
      All so that Sephiroth doesn't have to deal with the fact that he was created from a monster. It's better to be the "chosen one" or a god to explain why Sephiroth always believed he was different or special compared to others. Being a monster is something that he can't accept.
      It's why he hates Cloud so much. Cloud suffered in a similar manner to Sephiroth. And Cloud did break as well. But by the end, Cloud regained himself and grew so powerful in will that even Sephiroth could not bend Cloud to his will. That's why Sephiroth has this obsessive hatred for him.
      Cloud did what Sephiroth could not.

    • @thefinalfantasynation
      @thefinalfantasynation 14 днів тому

      @@0axis771 The devs have made PLENTY of contradictory statements, but what we can say for certain is, Sephiroth is so multi-faceted and layered, you have to understand the totality of his story, to understand what truly happened to him.
      Jenova corrupted him upon his mental breakdown, there's no arguing against that. His will WAS corrupted, and at a certain point in OG [stated in the novelizations], Jenova and Sephiroth's corrupted will, ripped himself apart to where you had the embodiment of his hatred and anger, fused with Jenova's will, versus Sephiroth's pure soul [as Nomura has recently called it], which was ripped away and sent into the Lifestream... unbeknownst to Sephiroth's twisted self however, his pure self went into the Lifestream and HELPED Aerith to stop Meteor, because she could NOT have done so, without him.
      So everything you're discussing is Sephiroth's "twisted self", what Jenova uses as a tool, and always had. Sure his will is powerful, but it is corrupted and wholly operates out of what Jenova desires, something that REMAINS canon, and unchallenged to date.
      The TRUE Sephiroth has no hatred and obsession with anyone, he's not Genesis Rhapsodos lol. All of that is his twisted self, Jenova's perfect tool. The whereabouts of the "true" Sephiroth, his pure-hearted nature, was last mentioned in the novelizations, who helped Aerith stop Meteor using the Lifestream [which puts his lineage and powers in INCREDIBLE question].
      Ever Crisis seems to finally be answering that mystery, and thus, we'll finally get the true, pure Sephiroth making his return, and more than likely, will be the one to face off Jenova for once and for all, as Cloud faces off the twisted Jenova version of Sephiroth, for once and for all. That's the seeming trajectory as of what is being offered by Ever Crisis.

Aerith being my healer with group Curaga, Cloud using limit weapon for one arm and sanctuary to buff against deshell, and Glenn with his limit weapon against the other arm and Good Vibes for buff against deshell and defense down. Cloud and Glenn with their limit breaks and Aerith with Bahamut for non elemental attack with group. From there it’s been a slow burn to beat him.

      What Glenn did was clearly wrong, yes. But he does try to make amends by suggesting to bury all of the Rhadorans they killed so that they could rest in peace. Glenn was justifiably FURIOUS because he TRUSTED someone else to go rescue Rosen, not kill him. Glenn wanted to directly help Rosen, but Sephiroth insisted that he be the one to do so. As for Glenn, he DID question Sephiroth if it was his plan to kill Rosen all along. But Sephiroth won't even answer for some reason. Instead, he just stays silent and focuses on retrieving his missing locket instead of answering Glenn why he killed Rosen. Glenn gives him a total of 3 chances to answer him by grabbing his arm, but Sephiroth still refuses to talk. In Glenn's POV, he thought that Sephiroth lied to him and stayed silent so he wouldn't admit his reasons for killing Rosen. As for the locket, he thought Sephiroth was being selfish at the moment, prioritizing himself over telling Glenn the truth.

    • @thefinalfantasynation
      @thefinalfantasynation 15 днів тому

      @@EvelynL.1112 that gave Glenn NO RIGHT to have kicked off Sephiroth's necklace, and what he did is NOT justifiable by any means, because he trusted a CHILD to do HIS job, essentially. And of course Seph would believe he could influence Rosen, but... any KID would, and just like any KID, any CHILD in a dire circumstance, made a choice based on a CHILD's perspective. He gets no flack for what he did, especially how Rosen demanded it.
      And Sephiroth who was a CHILD, someone GROOMED to be a soldier, a killing machine in the first place, felt he was honoring Rosen's final wish. And this poor child was just too traumatized to answer Glenn. You must understand the psychology of a CHILD, you cannot judge Sephiroth at this age, as you would an adult, which is what you're doing. He COULDN'T answer Glenn, and seeing his locket again, was a sense of relief to his broken CHILD's psyche. He wasn't acting out of selfishness, he's behaving the way a traumatized CHILD would... and all Glenn did was further his trauma. Notice Sephiroth didn't fight back or hold any grudge.
      This was not at all Seph's fault and technically, he didn't do anything wrong, as he's well too young to comprehend his circumstances, as a CHILD. And Glenn is an idiot and an asshole for doing what he did, shows his side of NOT understanding kids. We're honestly amazed Sephiroth DIDN'T hold a grudge, and was able to march forward, having endured so much anxiety. Poor thing.

Glenn wanted Rosen alive, but he did not know that the teenager wanted to die. What Glenn did to Sephiroth was completely wrong, but people act like Glenn threw a hissy fit for no reason. He just witnessed a teenage boy he knew get killed right in front of him despite pleading to spare his life. Why doesn't Glenn have the right to be furious about that and not be told of Rosen's last wish? Sephiroth has every right to hold a grudge against Glenn for being a jerk to him in that moment. @@EvelynL.1112 Glenn ultimately was at fault for that situation unfolding...
      Glenn was the adult, in his damn 30s. Something this volatile should not be handled by a teen, it doesn't matter how "experienced" they are. Sephiroth was still a child, and Glenn was extremely irresponsible for not at least accompanying Seph, but should have put his foot down, and told Seph to remain with the others.
      Sephiroth was obviously traumatized, and a mature adult would have taken notice, and worried more about getting everyone off the island first. THEN afterwards, waited for things to settle, before asking Sephiroth calmly to explain what had happened. Taking conscious, responsible action, is one of the most important facets to being a soldier of any kind, and most definitely being an adult.
      Glenn is behaving like an adult who doesn't understand the psyche of a youth, and throwing a "hissy fit" by throwing his necklace back into the Lifestream, shows incredible immaturity, and even a level of being irresponsible. All he did was further injured the situation, and even broken a sense of trust between himself and Seph, speaking in terms of psychology, and any kid experiencing something like this, will completely shut down communication with the adult in question.
      So in the end, sure Glenn was understandably angry, but he can only blame himself for how this situation went down. We believe the situation with Rosen would have ended in tragedy either way, but Glenn didn't make a responsible decision by letting Sephiroth alone, speak to Rosen.

      @@thefinalfantasynation You got a point. Yes, Glenn isn't the best at decision-making even though he's an adult. He tends to act on impulse and emotion without thinking things through unlike Matt and Lucia. Also, I believe the reason why he did not "put his foot down" is because he's not the leader anymore. It's Sephiroth who is officially the leader and Glenn had accepted that even after distrusting the teen at first. Glenn made the decision to put all of his trust in Sephiroth, so technically yes, he is also to blame for this situation spiralling out of hand. I think Glenn knew he was at fault too with the way he told Sephiroth to get back in the helicopter with them even after Sephiroth looked away in a mix of anger and guilt. Glenn also apologized to Sephiroth for kicking his necklace away when they reunite.
